During the Dust Bowl there were a lot of dust storms
throughout the prairie lands of the US that destroyed the
farmland during the 1930s.

The Dust Bowl affected the Southern Plains area of the United States. There
was a severe drought at the time so there was no rain, which did not let the
crops grow. So there was only dirt that was blown around during a time when
there were strong winds.

and move West. The farmers in Oklahoma were called
âOkiesâ when they moved out west. They tried to find jobs
out west since they lost their farms.

The Dust Bowl also made the Great Depression worse
because the US was left without a supply of food and many
people did not have jobs.
