Dudhsagar Dairy is a cooperative milk producers' union in Mehsana district, Gujarat, India. It was established in 1960 and collects milk from over 1,200 village dairy cooperative societies across 9,047 square kilometers. The union has expanded significantly over time by establishing chilling centers, cattle feed plants, veterinary services, and insurance programs to support dairy farmers. It also operates dairy processing plants with a combined capacity of over 1.8 million liters per day to produce milk, ghee, butter, milk powder and other value-added dairy products. Through efforts like artificial insemination and progeny testing, the average milk yields of dairy animals in the region have increased substantially.

Progeny Testing Programme
• Under PT programme 196 bull`s 3.3 lakh test insemination have been completed up to 2008.
• out of them 154 bull`s Breeding value available. Top 34 bulls declared as proven bulls and their
breeding value ranging from +518.15 to +178.59
• Since Nov.2008 Mehsana district had made MoU with NDDB for PTP and up to august.2012 in two
batches 15 and 20 bulls total 35 bulls have completed test AIs.
• Mehsana union had put a sub project proposal for production of HGM buffalo bulls through
progeny testing program and got it approved on 16th Nov.2012.
• At present Union is implementing 17th batch of Mehsana Buffalo for progeny testing in field
area of Mehsana milk shed in 58 identified AI Centre.
