Pompey the Great
While it is clear that Pompey the Great was a successful general, how he came to be so is a more
complicated matter. To analyse Pompey s career this essay will first examine his background,
highlighting the advantages and difficulties that arose from being from a fairly new noble family.
Additionally key events in Pompey s career will be explored chronologically, focusing on his most
important military successes as well as his political career. This will attempt to determine how much
his success relied on his personal characteristics or because of his he was able achieve his successes
due to his personal attributes or because of his political relations with noblemen such as Sulla, Caesar
and Cicero.
While Pompey s family was extremely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pompey captured Carbo but hesitated before finally deciding to kill the man who had three times been
censor (Plut.Pom.12). Furthermore his ruthless treatment of Ahenobarnus would give him the
nickname ‘adulescentulus carnifex , meaning ‘teenage butcher . Sulla gave Pompey a chance at
military success, which he took full advantage of, gaining a good reputation from the start of his
career.
Sulla reinforced this reputation for Pompey, giving him the cognomen ‘magnus meaning ‘the Great .
By this time the young Pompey was wildly popular in Rome and asked for a triumph in 81BC. Sulla
told Pompey he did not qualify, as he had not even held office in Rome. Pompey is famed for telling
Sulla that more people worshipped the rising than the setting sun, to which Sulla was surprised at his
boldness. Sulla eventually allowed him a triumph. Pompey s career was able to advance prematurely
and this triumph allowed him to increase his image as a young conqueror, much like Alexander the
Great. Finally Sulla was able to help Pompey be enabling him to become very wealthy. During Sulla s
dictatorship, both Pompey and Crassus were able to buy large amounts of land as it had been
confiscated off those on Sulla s proscription.
As Sulla retired and took himself out of public life, Pompey s most important political relationship
was that which he had with Caesar. In 67BC Rome had problems with pirates who were affecting the

Financial Risk Of For College Aid From The Department Of...
Student loans are unique. This same analysis would not apply to, say, home loans. With houses,
private lenders play a critical role in determining who is a credit worthy borrower, and what the
appropriate loan amount is for the asset that is being purchased with the loan proceeds. The financial
risk of being wrong causes lenders to take seriously the job of allocating loan capital efficiently. But in
the federal student loan program, there is a single process for determining eligibility for college aid
from the Department of Education and other federal agencies. When private lenders are involved in
the student loan program, they get paid but add no economic value to the process beyond the provision
of capital a role the federal government ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every loan program now has an estimated
subsidy cost put simply, the amount of money that needs to be set aside when the loan is made in order
to cover the loan s costs to the government over the life of the loan. The
GAO explains that the old approach distorted costs and did not recognize the economic reality of the
transactions, while the new approach provides transparency regarding the government s total
estimated subsidy costs rather than recognizing these costs sporadically on a cash basis over several
years as payments are made and receipts are collected. This more rational approach changed the nature
of policy discussions on
Capitol Hill. Student loans were among the first programs to be affected.
Federal student loans had originally been direct loans, following a recommendation of the economist
Milton Friedman in the 1950s. But when Congress in 1965 wanted to expand on that start, the
irrational budget rules of the time got in the way: A guaranteed loan appeared to cost nothing, and a
direct loan showed up in the budget as a total loss in the year it was made, even though most of it
would be paid back with interest. But now, after the 1990 budget reforms, the equation changed.
Congress, prompted by a memo leaked from the Bush administration that indicated direct loans would
be less costly and

The Beardos Short Story
After summer vacation starts, Greg s mother Susan announces that the family is going on a road trip.
At a cheap motel that night, Greg and Rodrick decide to go to the pool, but find that there is no water
in it. There is a hot tub nearby, but it is occupied by a family and they cannot convince the family to
let them use it. They return to their room to find that the rest of the family has fallen asleep, taking up
the bed. Rodrick proceeds to make a bed for himself out of sofa cushions leaving Greg to sleep in the
closet. He falls asleep for a few minutes before being woken up by kids who were playing with a
cleaning cart. Greg yells at them for causing a commotion, making the smallest kid cry and call for his

Wilson s Disease Research Paper
Progressive hepatolenticular disease, or more commonly known as Wilson s Disease, is a rare
autosomal recessive genetic disorder of copper metabolism that is characterized by hepatic and
neurological disease. While there is no cure for Wilson s Disease, there are several treatments that can
effectively manage the symptoms. The predominant form of treatment for Wilson s Disease is heavy
metal toxicity medication which utilize copper chelators to prompt the organs in the body to release
copper into the bloodstream and excreted via urine after kidney filtration or zinc to reduce copper
absorption (Ala et. al, 2007). Medications for Wilson s Disease include penicillamine, trientine, and

Treatment for Wilson s Disease includes to simply avoid these foods and to make such dietary changes
(Ala et. al, 2007). This form of therapy is rarely used alone and accompanied by the use of medication.
For patients unable to adjust to the medication or have presented severe deteriorating hepatic
symptoms of Wilson s Disease before other treatment was ever possible, a surgical orthotopic liver
transplantation is often carried out if they meet the criteria as a suitable candidate. According to
several studies, liver transplantation of this nature presents a phenotypic cure through a partial
correction of the metabolic defect (Bellary et. al, 1995). Therefore, the survival rate for Wilson s

Critical Race Theory Essay
Firstly, when it comes to describing women that are non white, different terminology is used by
different authors or researchers, however in doing so this generally creates inconsistencies and in
some form it loses value. For example , the term women of colour can be used to refer to ,African
American women, Asian, Hispanic, Native American and Indian ( generally used in the USA)
(Davidson, 1997). Similarly Lee (2014) Refers to African American women as blacks whereas Duff
(2011) refers to south Asian, afro Caribbean and African groups as Blacks On the other hand.
Deakinns et al (1996) cited in Davidson (1997) use the term ethnic minority to incorporate various
ethnic minority groups excluding the world black , Somehow signifying the issue at Hand.
Therefore in attempt to avoid any inconsistences the term women of African descent will be used to
refer to black women throughout this assignment.
In reference to Hite, (1996), studies have indicated that race and gender are pervasive factors in career
progression and therefore influences opportunities for those who are not of dominate culture .

Founded by Derrick Bell, critical race theory is an academic discipline, which maintains that
American society is still divided in terms of race. CRT states that in terms of race, exists the
oppressors (Whites) and victims (Blacks). CRT contends that America is racist at the core. Many
scholars including Delgado and Stefancic support this as they question the systems that are in place in
America. By examining past and existing power structures, Delgado Stefancic, (2001) conclude that
the nation s legal structures are racist and invalid. These scholars also suggest that the legal systems
and power structures are built upon white supremacy. As a result, they are not neutral or objective as
they support the subordination of people of

Political Office Campaign Marketing
With the ongoing growth in social media usage and other technological advances, the needs for
marketing and financial strategies in business endeavors are more important than ever before. These
endeavors also carry over to political office campaigns. While the purposes of financing and
marketing have greatly changed over time, their importance is at an all time high for these campaigns.
In order to run a successful political office campaign, one must also have a successful marketing and
financing campaign as well.
A campaign plan takes account of a campaign s goals, message, target audience, and financial
expenses. Candidates must also successfully communicate the message of the campaign, recruit
volunteers, and raise money. Marketing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the political teams for Donald Trump and Marco Rubio repeatedly bashed the early
frontrunner in the 2016 Republican primary, Jeb Bush with negative ad campaigns. Each campaign
called out Bush s Super PAC and its lack of efficiency. The negative advertising proved effective, as
Bush eventually dropped out of the Republican primary. This same strategy seemed to doom Rubio as
well, as negative ads from Trump and other candidates doomed the Florida senator Rubio could not
even win his home state of Florida. Additionally, Trump has also been an extreme target for negative
advertising from the other republican candidates, as this arguably is the only thing that has stopped
him from clinching the Republican nomination so far and increased the likelihood for a contested
convention this upcoming summer. This just goes to show that heavy financing will not win you an
election by itself. On the other hand, Clinton remains the favorite to win the democratic nomination
and the presidency, and has raised a significantly larger amount that any other candidate, as shown in

The Progressive Era Of The United States
George F. Will once said, The United States is a successful nation that is constantly susceptible to
melancholy because things are not perfect. During the 1880 s to the 1920 s this statement seemed to be
true about America but this sadness was not seen from the outside. The Progressive Era brought out
these issues and made everyone aware of them. This era was a period in the United States that
consisted of social activism and political reforms. The importance of this era was the passing of labor
laws, anti trust laws, unionization for important industries and the introduction of four new
amendments in the constitution.
Children have been servants throughout human history. Employers were taking advantage of children
by making them work very long days and work in dangerous conditions. Children laborers also lacked
an education due to the long hours they worked. Children worked to help support families but yet got
very little pay. Reformers and labor organizers wanted to restrict children labor and improve the
working conditions. Most Americans would never agree, they wanted adults to run the work world and
rather give any available job to an adult than a child. The education reformers battled the vast majority
of America because of their opinions on child education. (I. Yellowitz) After a while, primary school
education was a necessity. This education would improve their self fulfillment and the advancement of
the United States. The Fair Labor Standards Act was designed

Florida s List Of Natural Disasters
Florida s list of natural disasters ranges from floods to wildfires. The most notable natural disaster that
impacts Florida are Hurricanes. Hurricanes are powerful storms that can cause intense winds and
massive damaging floods. One of the most famous hurricane to hit Florida was Hurricane Andrew.
Compact in size Hurricane Andrew devastated southern Dade and Monroe counties. David Hickcox
notes that Andrew s damage path was quite narrow; it appeared that a tornado had struck, rather than a
hurricane (par 8). Andrew is one of two category five hurricanes to ever hit Florida with winds
reaching 145 mph (Williams and Duedall 42). Hurricane Andrew impact was felt in many ways such
as environmentally, economically, and socially in Florida.
To begin with, Hurricane Andrew impacted Florida s environment by causing damage to many plants.
Because Andrew path of destruction aligned with three National Parks this hurricane affected many
different ecosystems including coral reefs, mangroves, and marshes lands (Harper 52). While many of
these ecosystems did not get damaged severely, Gray E. Davis et al. reported that where the hurricane
s eye left the west coast to move across the gulf, more than 85% of the mangrove trees had blown over
( par. 21). This massive damage to the mangroves ecosystem was due to the intense winds Andrew
created. In addition to the damage caused by the storm to vegetation, some of the environmental
damage was caused by debris from destroyed homes. John

Essay on The Robber Bridegroom by Eudora Welty
The Robber Bridegroom by Eudora Welty
Eudora Welty s first novel, The Robber Bridegroom, is a combination of fantasy and reality while
exploring the duality of human nature, time, and the word man lives in. The union of legend,
Mississippi history and Grimms fairy tales create an adult dream world. Every character in the story
has little insight to themselves and how they relate to the world around them. The antics of Mike Fink,
the Harps, the bandits, and the Indians closely relate to Mississippi folklore. The blending of actual
history and pure fantasy create a much richer form of entertainment. Mike Fink was an American
frontiersman who is said to have beaten Davy Crockett in a shooting contest. The Harpe brothers were

Rosamond is looking forward to the future, to be free from her stepmother and experience love
besides that between father and daughter. The story is loaded with cruel and horrible acts. Mike Fink
tries to kill Jamie and Clement for bags of gold; Clement s first wife dies after seeing their son thrown
into boiling water by Indians, Kentucky Thomas is killed leaving his ugly wife to marry Clement, an
Indian girl is raped and killed by Little Harp, and Rosamond is raped by Jamie. All of these acts are
overpowered, however, by the humor of the characters. The three main characters represent clear
opposites in their own characters. Rosamond is beautiful and pure but could not tell the truth to save
her life. Clement is a planter who is restless and loves to travel. Jamie is a criminal as well as a
bridegroom. Their outside appearance can undermine the opinions of others. If being a bandit were his
breadth and scope, I should find him and kill him for sure, said he. But since in addition he loves my
daughter, he must be not the one man, but two, and I should be afraid of killing the second. For all
things are double, and this should keep us from taking liberties with the outside world, and acting too
quickly to finish things off. All things are divided in half night and day, the soul and body, and sorrow
and joy and youth and age, and sometimes I wonder if even my own wife has not been the one person

filled in Scotland .The need to develop more robust waste management techniques to ensure that
waste disposal to the environment is carried in such a way that it does not endanger human health and

warming. European Union Council, after series of public consultation with relevant stakeholders, set

from 1996 to 2011.Rising household waste is associated with the increase in the number of household

highly enhanced by the economic, commercial and industrial activities. Employment statistical data
had shown that there has been a dramatic shift from industrial activities to more commercial activities
due to vast change in economic growth and commercial activities accounting for major waste

However, due to the low level of recycling and other practices in place to curb the wasted produced in

that this universal mistake is not investigating into the surrounding society. For instance, a man
creating a business within a society in which there are already many businesses in that area that sell
the same thing. Whereas, a man that can understand the needs of a society and create a business
accordingly can generate a lot more wealth. In reference to the acres of diamonds he is suggested there

Whereas, Conwell stresses the idea that wealth is everywhere and there is a vast amount of it,
however, who attains it lays in knowledge and opportunity. The differing perspectives are due to their
contrasting priorities of life and life motives. Kuyper extenuates that his priority is his faith. Because
of his beliefs, his view on poverty is shaped by it. All of his ideals in The Problem of Poverty is

calling of a Christian, and he believes one of these callings is to help others, such as those who live in
poverty. Conwell s priorities differ greatly influencing his theories on the subject matter of wealth and
poverty. He prioritizes hard work and knowledge compared to religion. Since his morals are based on
these, he believes poverty is self conflicted or the doing of someone rather than circumstance. Poverty
in his eyes is easily solved in his eyes with knowledge. Alternatively, to Kuyper s idea of overcoming
poverty with the help of others, Conwell is an individualistic issue and can be solved by the individual
themselves. This is attainable through knowledge and taking opportunities presented. Kuyper stresses
the value of money and the power it has, whereas Kuyper dejects the materialistic side of money and

Comparison Of King Kamehameha And Giuseppe Mazzini
King Kamehameha and Giuseppe Mazzini both grew to be great leaders. King Kamehameha was the
person who unified all the Hawaiian Islands under his rule. Kamehameha, however, was not always at
the top of the heap. He started off as a normal ali i but because of his increasing reputation after
defeating many others in powerful positions, gained control of all the Islands. Kamehameha was a
very tall and physically fit man, as well as skilled mentally and at the art of war (including using
weapons and fighting). Giuseppe Mazzini was the leader and founder of the political movement
(Risorgimento) that overthrew Italy s rule and united Italy with other kingdoms (e.g. Rome). He
believed in Italian freedom much like his fellow exiles, and got many people to join his cause. This is
what makes both King Kamehameha and Giuseppe Mazzini successful and effective leaders.
King Kamehameha and Giuseppe Mazzini are both effective leaders and have many similarities
although they had different ideals. First of all, both Kamehameha and Mazzini unified different
kingdoms. Kamehameha was the leader of the unification of the Hawaiian Islands, and Mazzini was
the leader of the unification of Italy. Kamehameha and Mazzini both overthrew/took over
governments in the process of unification. They altered the government in a way that suited the people
and themselves. Also, both of these leaders started out with little say in matters and didn t previously
have great power. They had to work their way up

Thought history scientists finding have been ignored, only to be discovered that their information was

to find the longitude of a ship s position at sea. John Harrison, a self taught carpenter and clockmaker
was able to create a solution, but no one with enough power to enforce his studies would listen to his
ideas. Similar to this, when Nicolaus Copernicus discovered that the earth revolved around the sun, no

astronomic objects, space and the physical universe. Besides this difference, Harrison had an
immediate successor to continue pressing the ideas of using clocks to solve the longitude issue.
Copernicus, on the other hand, had no one to help him continue his work once he had died; no one

In 1924, the U.S. Border Patrol started its service for our nation. Although changes have affected
nearly every aspect of its operations from its earliest days, the values; professionalism, honor,
integrity, respect for human life, and a shared effort, helped shape the Border Patrol from the early
years and they still remain the same today. Since the very beginning agents have been patrolling our
borders, Mounted watchmen of the U.S. Immigration Service patrolled the border in an effort to
prevent illegal crossings as early as 1904 (Border Patrol History, web). The agent s efforts were
undertaken only when resources permitted. The inspectors were all out of El Paso, Texas, Though they
never totaled more than seventy five, they patrolled as far west as California trying to restrict the flow
of illegal Chinese immigration (Border Patrol History, web). In 1915, Congress approved a separate
group of Mounted Guards, often called Mounted Inspectors. Most rode on horseback, but a few
operated cars and even boats. Although these inspectors had broader arrest authority, they still largely
pursued Chinese immigrants trying to avoid the Chinese exclusion laws. The agents were immigrant
inspectors, assigned to inspection stations, and could not watch the border at all times, Texas Rangers
were also often assigned to patrol duties by the state, and their efforts were noted as singularly
effective (Border Patrol History, web). Customs violations and intercepting communications to

Impact Of The Truman Doctrine
In May of 1947 Henry S. Truman gave a speech about defending freedom and resisting communisms
influence with a set of plans and policies that came to be known as the Truman Doctrine . This was a
time of great stress on the international community, as the world tried to pick up the pieces, and decide
their new roles following WWII, the United States and the Soviet Union were trying to get a feel for
the position of power that they now possessed. The wartime camaradery with the Soviets based on a
shared enemy in WWII (Germany) evaporated soon after the war ended. Due to the Economic strain
inflicted upon it in during the war, Britain was inhibited in fully influencing their usual sphere of
power and had to subsequently stop providing foreign

Impact of Divorce on Adolescents Essay
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in 2011 there were 2,118,000
marriages in the United States and almost half as many divorces (2013). The CDC also reports that
only half of all first marriages will reach their twentieth anniversary. Divorce is a topic everyone is
familiar with and it has almost become a normal part of life. While it is assumed that more divorces
occur now than in the previous generation, the CDC actually reports that divorce rates have dropped
over the past twenty to thirty years, though this could be due to the increase in individuals who live
together without ever getting married or those who simply separate and cannot afford to become
legally divorced. However, it has become a more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, if one of the individuals in the marriage is resisting the divorce, or situations are complex,
such as children being involved, then divorces can take a long time to finalize and can become
extremely messy affairs. The constant arguing, disagreements, snide comments and hateful words that
occur during this time frame, which most likely started before the topic of divorce was even brought
up, can take a toll on not just the two individuals whose marriage is ending, but everyone else who is
involved, no matter how little their involvement is. Adolescence is defined as the period of transition
between childhood and adulthood that involves biological, cognitive, and socioemotional changes
(Santrock, 2012, p. 16). This time period can be very stressful in itself with all the changes that are
going on physically, socially and emotionally. Not only is an individual experiencing physical changes
as they enter puberty but his or her social roles are also changing and that can be difficult to adjust to.
It can be hard enough for a person to discover who he or she is and to become their own person during
this time of transition, but that is made even more difficult when the individual s home life is thrown
into chaos and he or she experiences the turmoil of divorce. Experiencing a parental divorce or
separation during adolescence can have long term effects not only on the teenager s

Aerobic vs Anaerobic Exercise
Aerobic VS Anaerobic Exercise
Jane Doe
Grantham University
ABSTRACT Being in the military has caused me to become a better athlete than I have been before.
Running is one of our main focuses and in my personal life I have strived to become better at it since I
know that I despise running but need to improve on it. One of the things that I have learned is that in
order for a high performance runner to reach a level that is desired to help max out their run time for
military standards, the individual needs to have a focused training, training with an objective.
The obesity rate in America has continually spiked over the years as well. More than 30% of
Americans do not do any kind of physical exercise. By implementing some kind of ... Show more

If someone is trying to quit smoking the more aerobics they do the less their cravings are to occur plus
their lung function is greatly improved. For people that may feel stressed or are combating depression
according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services research aerobics helps lower these
by raising the self esteem and physical awareness.
I perform both types of training several times a week; therefore, I can describe what my body feels
like after each training session. When I finish an anaerobic training, I feel my legs are heavier and
numb after all the effort that I have put in on the exercises along with the body aches which are a
result of the lactic acid produced by my muscles; however I can breathe perfectly well after 5 minutes.
After an aerobic training, I feel my muscles are looser and weaker along with my lungs feeling
stretched and my recovery can last up to an hour depending on the distance that I have run.
An individual that wishes to improve their run should do both aerobic and anaerobic training to
balance out their workout; we shouldn t choose only one because they are equally important to grow
as a competitive runner and to reach that goal of maxing out the military standards for their age
bracket. For society as a whole in the U.S., I strongly think that aerobic exercise of any sort, even if it
is just going for a walk or a slight jog, will help increase their lifespan and

Cinderella Ate My Daughter By Peggy Orenstein
Cinderella Ate My Daughter by Peggy Orenstein
A Review of the Literature Growing up in today s society can be traumatizing for any child. When it
comes to growing up as a young girl, however, it can be downright devastating, but not only for the
child but the parent as well. There are so many decisions to be made when choosing how to raise your
child, assuring that you have instilled proper values to develop a healthy sense of self worth and
confidence. Upon reading the book Cinderella Ate My Daughter: Dispatches from the Frontlines of
the New Girlie Girl Culture , by Peggy Orenstein, I was extremely captivated to absorb the opinions
that she had on raising a girl and all of the feminine influences that naturally surround her. The author
herself had stated right from the first page how she initially wished for the child in her womb was a
boy. My preliminary notion that joined this book to the course material was assumed before I even
began reading, as several obvious details it became apparent that the book for sure had to be about
gender roles and gender identity. The whole topic of princesses in the title, as well as the way the
books cover flaunted pink and shimmery glitter it was just a telltale sign to have gender specific ties.
That impression continued as I began reading the very first chapter boldly titled Why I Hoped for a
Boy . There were such forthright examples making it overly apparent that she, the author, would be
discussing the sexes, meaning girls vs.

Summary Of In The Belly Of The Beast
On Paul Solotaroff s In the Belly of the Beast : A Not So Subtle Argument Against Factory Farming
The dawn of civilization began with mankind mastering a constant source of food. From humble
grains to the mighty cow, raising and harvesting food has been an unchanged profession for millennia.
Ingrained into the fabric of society to the point of the biblical story of Cain and Abel, where Abel,
being a Shepard, offered one of his flock to God as a sacrifice which was preferred over Cain s grain
offering. From biblical times, the progression of technology for herding and rearing animals had not
changed up until the industrial revolution. The industrial revolution led to new mechanized ways of
raising animals but, also losing touch with the natural way of things. This mechanized way of raising
animals is talked about by Paul Solotaroff in his article, In the Belly of The Beast on how cruel and
brutal the conditions are for the animals being raised today in factory farms and how people should act
against them. Solotaroff opens the article with Sarah which isn t her real name and is made very clear
that its important her real name isn t known. Sarah then describes the scene of the farm she works on
in a vivid sense, such as
the sensory assault of 10,000 pigs in close quarters: the stench of their shit, piled three feet high in the
slanted trenches below; the blood on sows snouts cut by cages so tight they can t turn around or lie

Story Titled Gnarly Wipeout Dude
Chapter Three Gnarly Wipeout Dude It was one of those mornings when the sun chased away the
shadows and smeared the sky with too much color. A breeze tousled my hair as I sat with my back
pressed against an ancient oak tree. I tried not to think too much about Gramps, but I kept wondering:
if the centaurs were real and if all this magical stuff was possible, surely there had to be a way to help
him and them at the same time. An acorn dropped from overhead and left an impression in the dirt.
Prints. Of course. Why hadn t I thought of that before? I bolted to the barn, grabbed my faded red
bike, and seconds later my Converse high tops were creating circular blurs as I pedaled across the
yard. I swerved onto a narrower road, racing past cottages, and wooded hills, and pick your own fruit

Wrong. I jumped on my bike and performed bunny hops to the end of his driveway, then dashed down

living things leave tracks. We rode like the wind through town, crouched beneath a warm sun and
clouds billowing in impossible vaulted bends and bows. By the time we reached the barn beside my

Challenges Of HRM
1.Introduction
1.1 Introduction to Total Quality Management
We all have experiences of poor quality service or product with business organizations. Experiences
like in fast food restaurant, burgers customers get are way more different they appeared in the
commercials, or encounter bad customer service when lodging an unhappy purchasing.
These poor services probably happened because employees are not well trained with the problems
faced or they have do not seem to care attitude. Eventually, organizations will start to lost reputations
and affects its business.
Hence, in order to stay competitive in the market, organizations design guide lines to continuously
improve the quality level. These concepts are Total quality management. Meanwhile, as these TQM

Violent Conflict And Thechallenge Of Food Security Essay
VIOLENT CONFLICT AND THECHALLENGE OF FOOD SECURITY IN NORTH EAST
NIGERIA BY
MOTUBOMA THOMAS
Department of Political Administrative Studies (International Relations)
University of Port Harcourt,
Port Harcourt, Nigeria ABSTRACT
This research work sought to examine the effect of violent conflict and the challenge of food security
in the North Eastern region of Nigeria as well as its effects on other part of the country and
neighbouring countries. Emphasis was placed on analysing the relationship between violence and
agricultural productivity and investments in the region using contextual analysis based on both
primary and secondary data. The theoretical perspective that was adopted is the frustration aggression
theory which states that people will always resort to violence/aggression whenever they are
excessively frustrated. This theory was therefore employed to understand causes of the problem of
violent conflict in the North East. It was established that violent conflict has caused a lot of problems
for the people living in that region most especially with regards tofood security since most of the
inhabitants of this region are subsistence farmers and since they have been displaced, cannot cultivate
their farms to feed themselves. The study recommends that government should tackle the root cause of
violent conflict and strengthen the fight against insurgency in order to bring lasting peace to the
region. The study also suggested that the economy should be highly

Medical Application For Medical Residency Program
Throughout all of time there have been people known as doctors. In some places they have been
known as shaman, witch doctor, healing man, or even cleric. The way they were trained was usually
through apprenticeship with an older doctor when they were young. As the times and practices
advanced and changed so did the learning of medicine. People went from apprenticeships to schools.
Then the schools became more extensive and thorough. Now because of there being several different
branches of medicine there are also several branches of schooling. And in order to become a doctor,
surgeon, or a radiologist a person must go through the Medical Residency Program, otherwise known
as the Match Program. Depending on which type of medicine a person wants to go in they have to
choose a type of medical residency program, an example would be that if a person would want to
work as a doctor they would have to go through the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Each
residency program was created at different times. The reason for this fact is that some of these
programs weren t need until a certain point because of changes in time, culture, people, and
necessities. Point in case being the Emergency Medical Residency Program which was not created
until 1961. This can be backed by what Brian J. Zink s writing at http://www.emra.org/resources/emra

measuring covariance of two variables divided by the product of their standard deviations measures
the strength of a linear association between two variables and is denoted by r. The Receiver Operator

accuracy and the predictive values (positive and negative). Sensitivity: probability that the test results
will be positive when the disease is present (true positive rate, expressed as a percentage); Specificity:
Probability that the test results will be negative when the disease is present (true negative rate,

Jodi Picoult s Nineteen Minutes
For the most part, I enjoyed Nineteen Minutes. It was an extremely emotional novel about a teen boy
that killed ten people in his high school. Describing the school shooting was not the book s main idea,
the real purpose was to explain the events leading up to and the events after the shooting. In my
opinion, Jodi Picoult started the book out beautifully when she described how long the school
shooting was by relating it to basic everyday things that most people could relate to.
Most of Nineteen Minutes took place after the shooting, when the community was trying to recover
and rebuild trust after the horrific deed of Peter Houghton. Honestly, at first I was shocked because I

The Rhetoric Of The Cuban Revolution
These last few lines are interesting for various reasons. First, it is a fine example of a message that
Castro often employs which is the sacrifice of the individual in favor of the betterment of the country
as a whole (Valdés 31). Part of the way to gain the people s support was to obtain Legitimacy derived
from service, not self interest (Valdés 31). Castro makes himself sound like a martyr as he talks about
the torture and belittlement he says he will endure while imprisoned. The historical experiences not
only led to this idea of painting self interest as bad, but also led to a way of legitimizing actions. The
last famous last line in which the title comes from actually was paraphrase of a quote given by José

It is a common criticism of the theory because many see it as not concerning itself enough with Latin
American countries. An example of this would be how the writers of The Empire Writes Back
identified countries who were seen as postcolonial when they wrote, So the literatures of African
countries, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Caribbean countries, India, Malaysia, Malta, New Zealand,
Pakistan, Singapore, South Pacific Island countries, and Sri Lanka are all postcolonial literatures.
(Ashcroft, Griffiths, Tiffin 2). Only the mention of Caribbean countries signify the inclusion of Latin
America to the theory, and even then the countries are far outnumbered by the rest. There was also a
tendency of these authors to focus on former colonies of the British empire (Walden 61). However,
because this theory consists of such factors as trade and conquest and these former colonies reactions
to them there is a place for Latin America as a whole in the context of this theory. Countries such as
Cuba and Mexico, are still experiencing the effects of their history with colonialism and have used
writing as a way to obtain agency. This is seen through the discourse of revolutionaries like Castro and
Che, and later on from Subcommander Marcos. They use their respective country s history to further

finds 65.5% participation rates among junior middle school students. However, the rates are relatively

The result showed that attending ST after school is not rare, but common for the junior middle school
students in urban China and the reasons for this fever might be various. The most important reason is
that in many Asian countries, especially in East Asian, where adopted the examination oriented
education system heavily, there are school entrance examinations which determines students
qualification in entering to the higher levels of study. And the importance of these examinations
maybe sometimes exaggerated by the school teachers, parents and the whole society, which causes
substantial pressures to the students (Jayachandran, 2014; Kwok, 2004). The junior middle school
students who face the high school entrance examination in China usually have a very heavy burden in
learning and exercising with lots of homework given by the teachers, and in order to get the limited
places in entering to prestigious schools, they have to compete with their peers in examinations.
Meanwhile, given the fact of the examinations importance, the majority of the parents in developing
countries is less educated to afford children with their own guidance in learning as well as practicing,
thus supplementary become popular in these countries such as China (Jayachandran, 2014).

The Relativity Of Deviance And The Sociological Theory
The Relativity of Deviance Deviance in sociological terms can be defined as any form of deviation
from the social norms, or laws. Additionally, deviance is considered relative, as in what constitutes as
deviant varies from person to person. Howard S. Becker, an American sociologist and researcher of
deviancy once stated, It s not the act itself, but the reactions to the act, that makes something deviant
(Becker/Henslin 1966). In other words, any action or behavior that draws a reaction out of someone
could theoretically be a deviant act. However, Becker wasn t the first sociologist fascinated with
deviancy, nor will he be the last. Since the late eighteen hundreds sociologists have gained a
considerable perspective regarding deviancy, consequently coming up with three primary theories
explaining its significance and function. Sociologist Émile Durkheim explained deviance through a
functionalist approach. Durkheim explains that, deviance has several functions, it clarifies norms and
increases conformity and it strengthens bonds among the people reacting to the deviant (Barkan 2017).
The side effect of this a marginalization of those whose economic or cultural backgrounds don t
coincide with the majority. Sociologist Robert Merton states that the result of deviance among the
underprivileged is the result of a gap between the cultural emphasis on economic success and the
inability to achieve such success (Merton 1938). As a result, a

2.2 Selfhood is Arab Identity Instead of presenting a static Arab American identity reliant on the past
and defined through preservation of cultural heritage, Nye suggests that what it means to be Arab
American is discovered by making sense of different experiences and cultural contexts. Nye s poetry
insists on selfhood as a process of becoming and discovery. The critic Wahju Kusumajanti ponders
that being both, an Arab and an American, does not indicate a state of being torn between two sides,
but can be a steady and helpful position from which one can see the two sides more clearly. Nye

that they are intelligent, ambiguous, deceitful, and self serving. In the play Twelfth Night some
characters that you would classify as tricksters are Viola, Feste, Maria, Sir Toby Belch, and Sir
Andrew Aguecheek. Some tricksters are of higher class/rank while others are of lower class/servants.
In Twelfth Night , the tricksters are used to develop conflict, challenge social order, and create
comedy.
One of the most important tricksters of Twelfth Night would have to be Viola. After being
shipwrecked into a new country, Viola completely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His character helped create the festive atmosphere with his singing and dancing and excessive
drinking. Sir Andrew is very fond of Olivia, however he knows that he doesn t have a chance. Sir
Toby keeps encouraging him to keep trying with Olivia but he s discouraged because he knows she
has feelings for Cesario. Sir Andrew is so moved by Olivia that he was willing to pick a sword fight
with Cesario but then backs down when Cesario is prepared and ready to go. Sir Andrew backing
down from the dual against Cesario goes to show that strength and masculinity can be masked, as
Cesario is really Viola in disguise. This is another example of how Sir Andrew s main purpose in the
story is just for the laughs. Aguecheek is one of the duller, unintelligent characters of Twelfth Night. It
s obvious Aguecheek isn t very smart because Maria mocks him without him noticing. An you part so,
mistress, I would I might never draw sword again. Fair lady, do you think you have fools in hand, says
Sir Andrew to Maria. Sir, I have not you by the hand. Maria is mocking Sir Andrew by calling him a

Safe Use of Long Acting Beta Agonist in Asthma Patients
Executive summary
There have been concerns among the safety of long acting Beta agonist referred to as LABA therapy.
This is after the long acting inhaled beta has been used in the treating of asthma since the year 1990.
In order to get information about the effect of long acting beta agonists, information was extracted
from authoritative journals that were written after the FDA s recommendation. These journals were
written in order to address the concerns that came after Asthma patients who had used long term beta
agonists when it came to the treatment of asthma (Lötvall, 2012: 32). This paper will argue about the
safe use of long acting beta agonist in asthma patients and the recommendations of its use.
Research methodology
The material for this research was gotten from various journals such as US National library of
medicine as well as other databases such as Medical research journal. The information from these
journals is credible as the journals are peer reviewed and scholarly. Since the introduction of the
extensive acting beta agonists, there has been an improvement for many people that live with asthma
(Lötvall, 2012 39). The benefit to these people has been dramatic and consequently there have been
fewer asthma symptoms when it comes to rest with exercises, there are fewer night time awakenings
and less asthma burn ups. Source of concern
The source of concern when it comes to long acting beta agonists is the fact that it sometimes causes
severe asthma

  • 2. Pompey the Great While it is clear that Pompey the Great was a successful general, how he came to be so is a more complicated matter. To analyse Pompey s career this essay will first examine his background, highlighting the advantages and difficulties that arose from being from a fairly new noble family. Additionally key events in Pompey s career will be explored chronologically, focusing on his most important military successes as well as his political career. This will attempt to determine how much his success relied on his personal characteristics or because of his he was able achieve his successes due to his personal attributes or because of his political relations with noblemen such as Sulla, Caesar and Cicero. Pompey captured Carbo but hesitated before finally deciding to kill the man who had three times been censor (Plut.Pom.12). Furthermore his ruthless treatment of Ahenobarnus would give him the nickname ‘adulescentulus carnifex , meaning ‘teenage butcher . Sulla gave Pompey a chance at military success, which he took full advantage of, gaining a good reputation from the start of his career. Sulla reinforced this reputation for Pompey, giving him the cognomen ‘magnus meaning ‘the Great . By this time the young Pompey was wildly popular in Rome and asked for a triumph in 81BC. Sulla told Pompey he did not qualify, as he had not even held office in Rome. Pompey is famed for telling Sulla that more people worshipped the rising than the setting sun, to which Sulla was surprised at his boldness. Sulla eventually allowed him a triumph. Pompey s career was able to advance prematurely and this triumph allowed him to increase his image as a young conqueror, much like Alexander the Great. Finally Sulla was able to help Pompey be enabling him to become very wealthy. During Sulla s dictatorship, both Pompey and Crassus were able to buy large amounts of land as it had been confiscated off those on Sulla s proscription. As Sulla retired and took himself out of public life, Pompey s most important political relationship was that which he had with Caesar. With houses, private lenders play a critical role in determining who is a credit worthy borrower, and what the appropriate loan amount is for the asset that is being purchased with the loan proceeds. The financial risk of being wrong causes lenders to take seriously the job of allocating loan capital efficiently. But in the federal student loan program, there is a single process for determining eligibility for college aid from the Department of Education and other federal agencies. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Every loan program now has an estimated subsidy cost put simply, the amount of money that needs to be set aside when the loan is made in order to cover the loan s costs to the government over the life of the loan. The GAO explains that the old approach distorted costs and did not recognize the economic reality of the transactions, while the new approach provides transparency regarding the government s total estimated subsidy costs rather than recognizing these costs sporadically on a cash basis over several years as payments are made and receipts are collected. This more rational approach changed the nature of policy discussions on Capitol Hill. Student loans were among the first programs to be affected. Federal student loans had originally been direct loans, following a recommendation of the economist Milton Friedman in the 1950s. But when Congress in 1965 wanted to expand on that start, the irrational budget rules of the time got in the way: A guaranteed loan appeared to cost nothing, and a direct loan showed up in the budget as a total loss in the year it was made, even though most of it would be paid back with interest. But now, after the 1990 budget reforms, the equation changed. Congress, prompted by a memo leaked from the Bush administration that indicated direct loans would be less costly and ... Critical Race Theory Essay Firstly, when it comes to describing women that are non white, different terminology is used by different authors or researchers, however in doing so this generally creates inconsistencies and in some form it loses value. For example , the term women of colour can be used to refer to ,African American women, Asian, Hispanic, Native American and Indian ( generally used in the USA) (Davidson, 1997). Similarly Lee (2014) Refers to African American women as blacks whereas Duff (2011) refers to south Asian, afro Caribbean and African groups as Blacks On the other hand. Deakinns et al (1996) cited in Davidson (1997) use the term ethnic minority to incorporate various ethnic minority groups excluding the world black , Somehow signifying the issue at Hand. Therefore in attempt to avoid any inconsistences the term women of African descent will be used to refer to black women throughout this assignment. In order to run a successful political office campaign, one must also have a successful marketing and financing campaign as well. This same strategy seemed to doom Rubio as well, as negative ads from Trump and other candidates doomed the Florida senator Rubio could not even win his home state of Florida. During the 1880 s to the 1920 s this statement seemed to be true about America but this sadness was not seen from the outside. The Progressive Era brought out these issues and made everyone aware of them. This era was a period in the United States that consisted of social activism and political reforms. The importance of this era was the passing of labor laws, anti trust laws, unionization for important industries and the introduction of four new amendments in the constitution. Children have been servants throughout human history. Employers were taking advantage of children by making them work very long days and work in dangerous conditions. Children laborers also lacked an education due to the long hours they worked. Children worked to help support families but yet got very little pay. Reformers and labor organizers wanted to restrict children labor and improve the working conditions. Most Americans would never agree, they wanted adults to run the work world and rather give any available job to an adult than a child. The education reformers battled the vast majority of America because of their opinions on child education. (I. Yellowitz) After a while, primary school education was a necessity. • 10. Florida s List Of Natural Disasters Florida s list of natural disasters ranges from floods to wildfires. The most notable natural disaster that impacts Florida are Hurricanes. Hurricanes are powerful storms that can cause intense winds and massive damaging floods. One of the most famous hurricane to hit Florida was Hurricane Andrew. Compact in size Hurricane Andrew devastated southern Dade and Monroe counties. David Hickcox notes that Andrew s damage path was quite narrow; it appeared that a tornado had struck, rather than a hurricane (par 8). Andrew is one of two category five hurricanes to ever hit Florida with winds reaching 145 mph (Williams and Duedall 42). Hurricane Andrew impact was felt in many ways such as environmentally, economically, and socially in Florida. To begin with, Hurricane Andrew impacted Florida s environment by causing damage to many plants. Because Andrew path of destruction aligned with three National Parks this hurricane affected many different ecosystems including coral reefs, mangroves, and marshes lands (Harper 52). While many of these ecosystems did not get damaged severely, Gray E. Davis et al. reported that where the hurricane s eye left the west coast to move across the gulf, more than 85% of the mangrove trees had blown over ( par. 21). This massive damage to the mangroves ecosystem was due to the intense winds Andrew created. In addition to the damage caused by the storm to vegetation, some of the environmental damage was caused by debris from destroyed homes. John ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay on The Robber Bridegroom by Eudora Welty The Robber Bridegroom by Eudora Welty Eudora Welty s first novel, The Robber Bridegroom, is a combination of fantasy and reality while exploring the duality of human nature, time, and the word man lives in. The union of legend, Mississippi history and Grimms fairy tales create an adult dream world. Every character in the story has little insight to themselves and how they relate to the world around them. The antics of Mike Fink, the Harps, the bandits, and the Indians closely relate to Mississippi folklore. The blending of actual history and pure fantasy create a much richer form of entertainment. Their outside appearance can undermine the opinions of others. If being a bandit were his breadth and scope, I should find him and kill him for sure, said he. But since in addition he loves my daughter, he must be not the one man, but two, and I should be afraid of killing the second. For all things are double, and this should keep us from taking liberties with the outside world, and acting too quickly to finish things off. Summary Of In The Belly Of The Beast On Paul Solotaroff s In the Belly of the Beast : A Not So Subtle Argument Against Factory Farming The dawn of civilization began with mankind mastering a constant source of food. From humble grains to the mighty cow, raising and harvesting food has been an unchanged profession for millennia. Ingrained into the fabric of society to the point of the biblical story of Cain and Abel, where Abel, being a Shepard, offered one of his flock to God as a sacrifice which was preferred over Cain s grain offering. From biblical times, the progression of technology for herding and rearing animals had not changed up until the industrial revolution. The industrial revolution led to new mechanized ways of raising animals but, also losing touch with the natural way of things. This mechanized way of raising animals is talked about by Paul Solotaroff in his article, In the Belly of The Beast on how cruel and brutal the conditions are for the animals being raised today in factory farms and how people should act against them. Solotaroff opens the article with Sarah which isn t her real name and is made very clear that its important her real name isn t known. Sarah then describes the scene of the farm she works on in a vivid sense, such as the sensory assault of 10,000 pigs in close quarters: the stench of their shit, piled three feet high in the slanted trenches below; the blood on sows snouts cut by cages so tight they can t turn around or lie sideways; the racking cries of ... Point in case being the Emergency Medical Residency Program which was not created until 1961. This can be backed by what Brian J. Zink s writing at http://www.emra.org/resources/emra history/a brief history of emergency medicine residency training/. The history of Emergency Medicine residency training is interwoven with the ... • 35. Statistical Analysis On Pre-Eclampsia Statistical analysis Statistical analysis was carried out using the software program Anova one way unstacked. Quantitative data were presented as mean and standard deviation. Pearson correlation for measuring covariance of two variables divided by the product of their standard deviations measures the strength of a linear association between two variables and is denoted by r. The Receiver Operator Characteristic (ROC) curve was used for prediction of pre eclampsia using sensitivity, specificity, accuracy and the predictive values (positive and negative). Sensitivity: probability that the test results will be positive when the disease is present (true positive rate, expressed as a percentage); Specificity: Probability that the test results will be negative when the disease is present (true negative rate, expressed as a percentage); Positive Predictive value (PPV: probability that the disease is present when the test is positive); Negative Predictive value (NPV: probability that the disease is present when the test is negative) and accuracy is the ratio of the true positive and true negative on all patients. • 36. Jodi Picoult s Nineteen Minutes For the most part, I enjoyed Nineteen Minutes. It was an extremely emotional novel about a teen boy that killed ten people in his high school. Describing the school shooting was not the book s main idea, the real purpose was to explain the events leading up to and the events after the shooting. In my opinion, Jodi Picoult started the book out beautifully when she described how long the school shooting was by relating it to basic everyday things that most people could relate to. Most of Nineteen Minutes took place after the shooting, when the community was trying to recover and rebuild trust after the horrific deed of Peter Houghton. Honestly, at first I was shocked because I couldn t understand why Jodi Picoult kept backing up Peter and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Before joining allied soccer a program that affords students with disabilities an equal opportunity to participate in interscholastic sports alongside their non disabled peers, I paid no attention to people with disabilities and wouldn t even interact with them. • 38. The Rhetoric Of The Cuban Revolution These last few lines are interesting for various reasons. First, it is a fine example of a message that Castro often employs which is the sacrifice of the individual in favor of the betterment of the country as a whole (Valdés 31). Part of the way to gain the people s support was to obtain Legitimacy derived from service, not self interest (Valdés 31). Castro makes himself sound like a martyr as he talks about the torture and belittlement he says he will endure while imprisoned. The historical experiences not only led to this idea of painting self interest as bad, but also led to a way of legitimizing actions. The last famous last line in which the title comes from actually was paraphrase of a quote given by José Martí, who is a very important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a common criticism of the theory because many see it as not concerning itself enough with Latin American countries. An example of this would be how the writers of The Empire Writes Back identified countries who were seen as postcolonial when they wrote, So the literatures of African countries, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Caribbean countries, India, Malaysia, Malta, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, South Pacific Island countries, and Sri Lanka are all postcolonial literatures. (Ashcroft, Griffiths, Tiffin 2). Only the mention of Caribbean countries signify the inclusion of Latin America to the theory, and even then the countries are far outnumbered by the rest. There was also a tendency of these authors to focus on former colonies of the British empire (Walden 61). However, because this theory consists of such factors as trade and conquest and these former colonies reactions to them there is a place for Latin America as a whole in the context of this theory. Countries such as Cuba and Mexico, are still experiencing the effects of their history with colonialism and have used writing as a way to obtain agency. This is seen through the discourse of revolutionaries like Castro and Che, and later on from Subcommander Marcos. They use their respective country s history to further their arguments and to justify ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

St. Participation Rate Of The Sampling The participation rate of the sampling are shown in Table 3 in Chapter 4, and according to it, 68.4% of the participants take part in ST currently with more than half of the total students, which indicates that ST are relatively popular among the sampled participants. This finding is consistent with the previous study of Xu and Ding (2004) who investigate the prevalence of ST participation in urban China, which finds 65.5% participation rates among junior middle school students. However, the rates are relatively low compared to Shen s study (2008), who finds 75% of the Grade 9 students take ST. The result showed that attending ST after school is not rare, but common for the junior middle school students in urban China and the reasons for this fever might be various. The most important reason is that in many Asian countries, especially in East Asian, where adopted the examination oriented education system heavily, there are school entrance examinations which determines students qualification in entering to the higher levels of study. And the importance of these examinations maybe sometimes exaggerated by the school teachers, parents and the whole society, which causes substantial pressures to the students (Jayachandran, 2014; Kwok, 2004). The junior middle school students who face the high school entrance examination in China usually have a very heavy burden in learning and exercising with lots of homework given by the teachers, and in order to get the limited places in entering to prestigious schools, they have to compete with their peers in examinations. Meanwhile, given the fact of the examinations importance, the majority of the parents in developing countries is less educated to afford children with their own guidance in learning as well as practicing, thus supplementary become popular in these countries such as China (Jayachandran, 2014). The private tutors that hired by the tutees may come from two sources: the teachers employed by the mainstream schools of their own and teachers in other mainstream schools. • 41. The Relativity Of Deviance And The Sociological Theory The Relativity of Deviance Deviance in sociological terms can be defined as any form of deviation from the social norms, or laws. Additionally, deviance is considered relative, as in what constitutes as deviant varies from person to person. Howard S. Becker, an American sociologist and researcher of deviancy once stated, It s not the act itself, but the reactions to the act, that makes something deviant (Becker/Henslin 1966). In other words, any action or behavior that draws a reaction out of someone could theoretically be a deviant act. However, Becker wasn t the first sociologist fascinated with deviancy, nor will he be the last. Since the late eighteen hundreds sociologists have gained a considerable perspective regarding deviancy, consequently coming up with three primary theories explaining its significance and function. Sociologist Émile Durkheim explained deviance through a functionalist approach. Durkheim explains that, deviance has several functions, it clarifies norms and increases conformity and it strengthens bonds among the people reacting to the deviant (Barkan 2017). The side effect of this a marginalization of those whose economic or cultural backgrounds don t coincide with the majority. Sociologist Robert Merton states that the result of deviance among the underprivileged is the result of a gap between the cultural emphasis on economic success and the inability to achieve such success (Merton 1938). • 43. Over The Fence By Emily Nye 2.2 Selfhood is Arab Identity Instead of presenting a static Arab American identity reliant on the past and defined through preservation of cultural heritage, Nye suggests that what it means to be Arab American is discovered by making sense of different experiences and cultural contexts. Nye s poetry insists on selfhood as a process of becoming and discovery. The critic Wahju Kusumajanti ponders that being both, an Arab and an American, does not indicate a state of being torn between two sides, but can be a steady and helpful position from which one can see the two sides more clearly. Some characteristics that you would see in a trickster are that they are intelligent, ambiguous, deceitful, and self serving. In the play Twelfth Night some characters that you would classify as tricksters are Viola, Feste, Maria, Sir Toby Belch, and Sir Andrew Aguecheek. Some tricksters are of higher class/rank while others are of lower class/servants. In Twelfth Night , the tricksters are used to develop conflict, challenge social order, and create comedy. Sir Andrew is so moved by Olivia that he was willing to pick a sword fight with Cesario but then backs down when Cesario is prepared and ready to go. Sir Andrew backing down from the dual against Cesario goes to show that strength and masculinity can be masked, as Cesario is really Viola in disguise. This is another example of how Sir Andrew s main purpose in the story is just for the laughs. Aguecheek is one of the duller, unintelligent characters of Twelfth Night. • 45. Safe Use of Long Acting Beta Agonist in Asthma Patients Executive summary There have been concerns among the safety of long acting Beta agonist referred to as LABA therapy. This is after the long acting inhaled beta has been used in the treating of asthma since the year 1990. In order to get information about the effect of long acting beta agonists, information was extracted from authoritative journals that were written after the FDA s recommendation. These journals were written in order to address the concerns that came after Asthma patients who had used long term beta agonists when it came to the treatment of asthma (Lötvall, 2012: 32). This paper will argue about the safe use of long acting beta agonist in asthma patients and the recommendations of its use. Research methodology The material for this research was gotten from various journals such as US National library of medicine as well as other databases such as Medical research journal. The information from these journals is credible as the journals are peer reviewed and scholarly. Since the introduction of the extensive acting beta agonists, there has been an improvement for many people that live with asthma (Lötvall, 2012 39). The benefit to these people has been dramatic and consequently there have been fewer asthma symptoms when it comes to rest with exercises, there are fewer night time awakenings and less asthma burn ups.
