Chapter eight is talking about how I can develop emotional intelligence. This chapter teaches
me how I can knowing my own emotions, self-management, understanding what is causing my
emotion and how I can choice new behaviors. Self-management can help to use my brain wisely
instead of doing things that I do not need in my life, the other thing it can help me to control
myself from angry, I learned that I do not drop one of my college classes if I don’t like the
teaches or quit my job because of I don’t like my supervisor it helps me to use my emotional
intelligent before I take any action that leads me to get off the course and not to reach my short
term and long term goals. Emotional intelligent teaches me to know my own emotions when is
high or low, I also learned that I need to aware what makes me mad and what makes me happy
how I control my own emotions. If my teachers make me mad or fail me their classes how I can
drop from college I have to use my own emotions and let myself to come down if I failed one of
my classes I can pass next semester because emotional intelligence teaches me if I use my
feelings it is hard how I can get off the course.
First and famous I learned from this chapter about how I reduce the stress is to not worry about
my past because there is nothing I can do my past days. My goal will be to deal the situation I
am in which can lead me to success in my future without any stress. The wise choice I learned is
to try my best how I can manage my stress, managing could help me that stress not to become
worst. Many people I know believe that drugs can reduce their stress, which is totally false
because drugs never help anything unless it make the worst. Before I read this chapter I believe
that drugs could help me for my stress but today I notice I believe wrong idea. Sticking in my
emotional intelligent is the best way I can make the good choices in my college and the rest of
the life.
The second thing I feel interesting about this chapter is how I can develop self-love. Self-love is
very important because if I love myself that means I love my life and what I am doing in my
life. The people without self-love are those who give up their lives. I learned the one thing I can
develop self-love is make sure I eat well, exercise daily, never use drugs, and drink less coffee. I
drink too much coffee and smoke a lot of cigarette and I believe before I read this chapter it
might reduce my school and work stress but now I notice these habit are dangerous for my life
and I have to take immediately action how I can quit smoking cigarette and drinking too much
caffeine. This course helped me a lot, every chapters I learned from this class teaches me new
techniques that If I use my emotional intelligence help me how I can success in my college and
rest of my life.
Here is the only part I feel confusing during my reading this chapter. The wise choice of this
chapter eight teach me that I need to start saving every month. Since I left from my mother
house I keep trying to save some money but I couldn’t save any thing at all. It was couple times
when I opened saving accounts but I use that money for some day for some non-sense reason.
If I save some money it will help me to have positive accountant. Positive accountant could help
me to have a good credit so I can ask loan when I need it. The other ways that saving is good for
me is to know where my money goes and how I use it. Finally this will help me to manage my
monthly income and yearly. As Walmart store said “save money life better” I need to save some
pennies every month how I success my life. I will make sure that I will go back my banker and
asked how is the other way I can save for my money because I failed couple times to put some
money away from my pocket.
The other important thing I feel interesting in this chapter is emotional self-awareness this will
help me to know my feelings that I am in any moment in my life. This will help me to keep truck
any situation I am in how I do not get off the course. I believe if I get off the course in my life it
will take me a lot of effort and energy how I get back on track, that is why I need self-awareness
in my life how I success in my college days and rest of my life.
One of the important thing I am incorporate to my life is “reducing Stress” I learned that is my
responsibility to control my stress, there are many ways I can control my stress is to done my
home works, assignments on time, because if I do my assignment the last minute it can cause
me to get a lower grade and I feel too much stress for myself.
