US economic growth in 2018 is estimated to be 0.4%
higher than the previous prediction of 2.3% to 2.7% in
the investment and consumption.
Global economic growth is expected to be 0.2% higher
than previously estimated, which was originally
predicted 3.7% to 3.9%.
Global economic growth comes from improved
economies of developed and developing countries.
Economic growth in Europe and China is also
predicted to be higher than previously estimated
(EU from 1.9% to 2.2% and PRC from 6.0% to

PENDAHULUAN
Indonesia is the world's largest source of rattan, about 80% of world rattan consumption
is supplied from Indonesia.
Rattan is a Strategic Product :
• Source of foreign exchange
• Source of income for the people around the forest
• Absorb workforce both in the raw materials sector and in
the industrial sector.
Rattan species grow in Indonesia:
In Indonesia there are 8 rattan genus consisting of approximately 306 species, only 51 species have been utilized. This
means that the use of rattan is still low and is limited to the types that have known benefits and market value. From those
8 rattan genus, 2 genus have high economic value, Calamus and Daemonorops.

Taman Rattan / Sega and Irit
- This type of rattan is generally small in
diameter and cultivate mainly from
Kalimantan and Sumatera
- This type of rattan is not a great demand
by industry.
Non Taman Rattan / Sega and Irit
- Generally have a larger diameter and
mainly grows in the forest of Sulawesi,
Sumatera, Sumbawa, etc.
- This type of rattan is a great demand by
industry

DIRECTION OF POLICY
Rattan is a strategic commodities, not just as a source of income for the country but
also as a livelihoods for the community and absorb a large amounts of labour. For
that reason, rattan need to be utilized wisely and developed specifically for industry
that lead to the high value finished product.
Export policy attempted to provide opportunities for centers of rattan producer to
gain optimal benefit of its resources, yet guarantee the supply of raw materials for
industrial rattan products in the country and keep the preservation of rattan plants.
