Ted Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, was born in 1904 in Massachusetts and developed a love of reading, writing, and drawing from an early age. He struggled early in his career but found success writing children's books, with some of his most popular titles being The Cat in the Hat, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Green Eggs and Ham. Through his simple stories and rhyming style, Dr. Seuss helped encourage children's love of reading and literacy. He received a special Pulitzer Prize for his contributions and donated much of his wealth to charitable causes before passing away in 1991.
