Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, was a famous children's book author and illustrator. He was influenced by his mother's love of rhyme which helped develop his signature style. After studying at Dartmouth and Oxford, he began a career in advertising before publishing his first children's book in 1937. Some of his most beloved books include Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat in the Hat, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Over his career, Dr. Seuss published over 60 books and his works have sold over 200 million copies worldwide. He received numerous honors including two Academy Awards, two Emmy Awards, and the Pulitzer Prize.
