The student created a double page spread for their magazine by first laying out design options and choosing a layout. They set up columns and added a red background in Publisher. Photos of the interview subjects were placed as the main picture and around the page with colored borders. An interview conversation between the subjects was written and added. Additional photos and quotes were used to fill space. A "have your say" box with friend's photos and public quotes was also included. Page numbers and an "EXCLUSIVE" sign completed the spread.

2. I decided the best thing to do when starting my double page spread was to create a few basic layout of how my page could look. Mast head Main Picture My piers looked at my layout and we all decided that I should use the top layout for my magazine.
3. I decided to create my double page on publisher. The first thing I did was to create columns so that I knew the exact place where I should put my writing and also where the centre of the page would be so that I didn’t place a picture half way over the middle. I then went onto master page to add my red background, which fit in with my colour scheme I had used all the way through my magazine. However to start with I only put my background on the bottom half of the page so that I could still see where my columns where. I would extend my background once I had finished my page.
4. After I had set my master page up I thought it would be best to add my pictures to the page first. I had choosen three pictures which I wanted on my page. These where the three pictures I was sure I wanted on my page. I decided I wanted the picture of both Aylish and Olivia as the large main picture and that the other two would be dotted around the page. I then decided to use a colourful border around the pictures I chose a yellow, green and pink.
5. The next thing I did was to write a conversation between the interviewer and Aylish and Olivia (the girls in my photos). This is completely fictional. However it ‘imitates interviews with pop stars.’ - Zoe Jones. In the interview La’Frank talk about their experiences while on The X Factor, how they felt during crucial times while starting their career and what they have plans for in the next few years. I also created a mast head for my double page. I downloaded a font of dafont.com called ‘Just Keep Truckin’. I chose this font as it is bubble and eye catching. This anchors my magazine name and it is also suitable for my target audience.
6. I then added my mast head to my double page. I also added my conversation I had written to my double page.
7. I decided my double page looked a little empty and spacious. As I had taken lots of photo’s of Aylish and Olivia in my photo shoot I decided to use a couple more of the photo’s and them to my page to fill the gaps. Hayley suggested that I add little captions in bold colours to my page of quotes that Aylish and Olivia said. Olivia- ‘ People like us don’t get chances like this’ Aylish- ‘ I never get chatted up’
8. However my double page still looked slightly empty and seemed to be missing something. I looked back at the research I had done on different magazines and saw that a few magazines had a ‘have your say’ box and gives members of the public and chance to ay what they think of this certain artist. I decided this would be a good idea and created one. I took pictures of three of my friends at college and used these pictures for my images of the public. I then wrote quotes that members of the public may say about La’Frank. I also decided I needed page numbers and I wanted a EXCLUSIVE sign at the top of the page. This is my final double page spread. I believe it is eye catching, fun and to be honest I would read this article.
