Gandhi memorial municipal corporationhigh school(IGMMCH).Shivaprasad
was joined here at Joy home by his mother.Shiva prasad used to work in
holidays to support his familyfinancially.His father Ramanjaneyuluwas an
alcohol addict and used to physicallyabuse Renuka.His father used to drink
and roam all night without working. His father was settinga bad example for

him. His mother realized it earlyon and doesn’t want her son to be spoiled.
Addingto that,his mother didn’t haveenough money to educate shiva
prasad.So his mother felt that SERUDS would be a reallygood option that
can help in educatingShivaprasad
Mandla Sirisha : Mandla Sirisha a resident of Kurnool district joined
SERUDS in 2020. Her mother Venkateshwari is mentallyretarded as she got
an injuryon her head.Her father venkateshwarlu who is addicted to
drinkingphysicallyabuses her mother and sometimes beats Sirisha as well.
Sirisha grew up with her grandmother, who is unable to control
venkateshwarlu and wanted to protect Sirisha.Seeing the situation,child
welfare committee(CWC)member suggested SERUDS to Sirisha’s
grandmother.With the help of CWC, sirisha’s grandmother admittedher at
Joy home. She is a very active kid and participates in all games and is an
average student in her studies.She is interested in drawingand is currently
learninghow to draw. She wants to become a police officer which is mostly
because of the circumstances she grew up in. Whateverbe the challenges,
she wants to become a police officer and wants to make sure no other kid
goes through the trauma she has faced
Sampangi Yalla Sumitra : Sumitra who is currently in 4th standard joined
SERUDS familywhen she was 7 years old.Her father shiva shankar is an
alcoholicand uses all of his hard earned money for drinkingand physically
abuses sumitra’s mother.Her mother Eshwaramma works as a dailywage
labourer and has to meet the cost of educatingthe 3 daughters byherself.
As she was not able to afford cost of her daughters’education,she joined
Sumitra at SERUDS so that she could get education,food and the basic
things.Sumitra’s sisters who are younger than her currentlystaywith her
mother and do not even attend school. When Sumitra joined SERUDS she
was a silent kid who was not able to talk or mingle with other children.She
onlyfocuses on her studies as her mother told her to studywell when she

left her at joy home.She wants to focus on her studies as she promised her
mother
