Speaker’s background
• Technology advisor in web & extranet & intranet projects
– Extensive background in Microsoft tools, involved in SharePoint projects since
2007
– Also a lot of project experience with Oracle’s systems and open source systems
like Liferay and Drupal
– Most of the customers are large organizations headquartered in Finland
(typically over 1,000 employees)
– Note: Finland is a Microsoft & open source country (so I am biased in some
ways)

Recommendations for enterprise buyers
22 North Patrol Oy
Recommendations
Finally, as an enterprise buyer, what should you take home from this?
1. Microsoft is not going to care about you very much for the next five years or so
2. SharePoint 2015 will most likely be just a fancy service package
3. Remember: Most of Microsoft’s professional service partners are in trouble
right now (especially the big ones) – you should look for specialized ones
4. Office 365 will be an office platform for knowledge workers. The more you are
a manufacturing/customer service heavy organization, you should also
evaluate alternatives.
5. And remember, SharePoint is still a great platform for many purposes. Enjoy it
while you still can  (=many years) – just don’t expect it to get any better.
