The Career Of A Civil Engineer
As Corrie Ten Boom once said When a train goes through a tunnel and it gets dark, you don t throw
away the ticket and jump off. You sit still and trust the engineer. Engineering has always been an
interesting job for many people, dealing with how structures stand and what makes them stand
draws a large amount of people towards this career. Engineers aren t just responsible for the shape
of a building, but they must bear the responsibility of the structural stability of the building as well.
They keep these structures safe for the people while meeting the design standards given, this
requires a tremendous amount of skill in physics, problem solving, and three dimensional
conceptual skills to assist them during the challenges that they... Show more content on

Combine all the responsibility for making sure that everything is safe and there will be no
problems years after the project is finished, they also have to meet all regulations and guidelines
that are given by the employer and the state. Moving past all the general duties, there are
countless other small, specific responsibilities that engineers undertake. An average day is filled
with inspecting the goals of the project, doing the math to make sure everything will stand sturdy
and be safe, and they also have to go out onto the site and make sure that everything fits together
and there will be no problems. Civil engineers must be prepared to follow the project from start to
finish, they need to be willing to endure extra hours and make any changes that seem necessary to
complete the project while ensuring the safety of the people. The average civil engineer works full
time, and about one in four engineers work more than forty hours a week, which could be even
more depending on their role and position on the construction job. The hours vary between
engineers, however, with more responsibility, the engineers must also be willing to work extra
hours to complete what they have started.
Engineering is a very experienced based job, so there are not a large number of qualifications except
the ability to gain experience over time and some college education. To become a civil engineer,
you need to obtain a bachelor s degree in college and study in

My Goals For President
My goals as president are to make things better as in school foods, house expenses, and medical
bills. I would like to end sending our troops in because I feel as if they are fighting over nothing
they don t need to fight for other countries but, for us to save our children and our families not
theirs. It s their fault they are in that mess and I don t want our country in something like that
either. We need to protect not destroy. I would like to do this to stop death of our families. I
believe that anything is possible and I want to hear your ideas and thought on what needs done
and want you want done. I would also like to cut the interest down for house payments and
medical bills. Some families can t get out of a bad house conditions or move out because of how
much money they have to pay for medical bills, like my family can t move out because she is still
paying medical bill from having a baby and a low paying job. My grandma is about to lose her
house because she s very diabetic and every time she gets sick she goes to the hospital and she
can t work because of the diabetes and how out of control it is and is hard to work with but, my

gluten free food that kids will still love not these nasty foods they are feeding the kids now. I
would have every school in the country have fruit and salad bars that the kids could eat as much
as they wanted out of that and not need to pay for it also free to

Pros And Cons Of The Sinclair Family
The Sinclair family lost three people that they loved very dearly. The four liars did an inexplicable
and illegal thing. They committed arson and were killed in the act. All but one: Cadence survived.
Johnny, Mirren, and Gat died in a fire accident late into summer fifteen. Cadence does not recall the
accident but everybody in the Sinclair familyis grieving for their deaths and Cadence s suffering.
Not only should people make memories but they should make memories with people they care
about. This is what the Sinclair family wishes that they would have done. The Sinlcairs do not
always get along. They fight and disagree over things that are not always important. People fight
over different things for different reasons. The Sinclairs were fighting over Harris s wealth. Harris s

People are important to their friends and family in different ways. Friends and family spend time
together because they want to see each other and make everyone feel important. As soon as one
loses somebody though, they wish that they had spent more time with that person. I read them
all, but you can t be mad at me for not answering. It feels like homework, typing and staring at the
stupid phone or computer. (Lockhart 81) This is significant because Mirren is no longer able to
respond. Cadence misses her so much; she wants to believe that Mirren is still alive and well.
However, everone misses the liars and wishes that they would have spent more time with them. The
Sinclair family misses the liars that died but no really spent time with Johnny, Mirren, and Gat

Analysis Of Marilyn Monroe s The Black Evening Gown
Since women started to become more valued in the workforce, they also wanted to reward
themselves by expressing how they felt through style. The booming designer of the time,
Christian Dior, really helped women find their identify through simple fabrics along with tasteful
and simple designs. Dior took over the closets of all women from the 1940 s all the way through
the mid 1950 s. The waist became the focal point of the human figure and the bustlines started to
raise and take shape. The shoulders stayed soft with rich fabrics and colors and the length of the
dressesand skirts became effortlessly long and full of life. The most iconic women of this time

The Transformation of Hal in Shakespeare s Henry IV Essay
The Transformation of Hal in Henry IV
In Shakespeare s Henry IV, the character Hal, the Prince of Wales,
undergoes a transformation that can be characterized as a redemption.
Shakespeare introduces Hal, in the opening act as a renegade of the Court. His
avoidance of all public responsibility and his affinity for the company of the
Boar s Head Tavern, have caused serious concern for the King, because Hal is
heir to the throne. The King realizes that to keep order, a ruler and his heir
must prove to be both responsible and honorable; from the outset Hal possesses
neither quality. The King even testifies to his own advisor, that he would have
rather traded Hal for Hotspur, the son of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a plea to his father, Hal
vows that he will redeem his tarnished identity at the expense of Hotspur,
saying I will redeem all of this on Percy s head, (3.2.137). However, the
act of redemption does not only occur as the result of realization and
motivation. Redemption needs for these ideas to be put into action. At the end
of Act 5.4, using his realization and motivation as a basis for his actions, Hal
consummates his transformation, by physically saving his father from Douglas
and defeating Hotspur in a single combat at the Battle of Shrewsbury. Thus, the
Prince of Waleshas performed, what he had originally promised to do in his
opening soliloquy, to redeem his reputation. The phases of, realization,
motivation and action, mark important facets in Hal s transformation. However,
Hal s redemption occurs only as the product of all three phases, and as a result,
it causes a significant change in the character of the Prince.
The first phase of Hal s transformation is marked by realization. Hal
realizes that his life of truancy must end. This realization in turn, provides
him with a basis for redemption, which is marked by Hal s soliloquy at the end
of Act 1.2. However, Hal s soliloquy is not the result of a striking
realization. Rather, it is apparent that Hal has given much thought to his

The Importance Of The Korean War
In America we always remember the importance of the wars we fought. For some reason most
people always forget or skip the Korean War. Korea was a small colony that was taken over by
Japan in 1910. When World War II ended Japan s government was falling apart and could no
longer support Korea. This left the colony to anyone who wanted it, and Russia answered the call.
Russia successfully conquered the north when the south contacted the U.S. to stop them. War broke
out on June 25, 1950 which had sealed the fate of the Korean Peninsula. The Korean Warwas
mostly a coalition with communist values and capitalist values. The outcome of this war has
shaped the way works. The Korean War was very important to the world because it showed that
America was unprepared, the Korean Peninsula was divided, and the countries who were involved.
America being unprepared for the Korean War is very important to the world. America went into

had been given could not penetrate the heavy armor of the T 34 tanks. (Washington Post) After the
Koreans came in with the tanks the U.S. soldiers could not destroy them. This resulted in the
soldiers retreating from the tanks. Next the U.S. soldiers we also not properly

Theme Of Weakness In Macbeth
William Shakespeare s Macbeth, is a play about the triumphs and tribulations of Lord Macbeth on
his path to gaining the crown of Scotland. Of the themes in the play, weakness seems to present
itself the most. Weakness is presented by: Duncan, Lord Macbeth, and Lady Macbeth.
Firstly, the topic of weakness is shown in King Duncan with his over abundance of trust in those
close to him. He is first betrayed by the Thane of Cawdor and second by Lord and Lady Macbeth.
King Duncan vowed to never again be betrayed No more that thane of Cawdor shall deceive
(Shakespeare 1:2:64). King Duncan so blindly trusted the Thane of Cawdor and was shocked by
his betrayal on the battlefield thus portraying his weakness. He was later again betrayed by Lord

Brady Street Should Be Changed
The Story Behind Why Brady Street Should Be Changed All throughout the history of Tulsa,
Oklahoma there has been many racially charged tragedies that have happened. Many people
believe that the so called Brady Street, which was named after the founding father of Tulsa, Wyatt
Tate Brady, should be changed due to his membership with the Ku Klux Klan. In 2013, business
owners in Tulsa wanted and are still wanting to change the Brady street named after W.T. Brady
and name it Brady after the Civil War photographer. I believe that it should be changed because of
how much W.T. Brady was involved with the Ku Klux Klan, The Tulsa Outrage, and The Race

It occurred when a white mob started attacking residents and businesses of the African American
community of Greenwood in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in what is considered one of the worst incidents of
racial violence in the history of the United States. Although the riot itself lasted only a few hours,
its repercussions are still felt today. The riot started after a young black man was accused of
having sexual contact and raping a young white female who was operating an elevator. He was
later taken into custody and rumors raced all throughout the Negro Community. Over 800 people
had to be taken to the hospitals and over 6,000 negroes were taken into custody. Tulsa Policemen
made every negro evacuate their homes. After the homes vacated, said one Greenwood resident,
one bunch of whites would come in and loot. Even women with shopping bags would come in,
open drawers, take every kind of finery from clothing to silverware and jewelry. Men were carrying
out the furniture, cursing as they do so, saying, These damned Negroes have better things than lots
of white people. (CITE) (http://www.tulsaworld.com/app/race riot/timeline.html ) All throughout

Cortisol Research Paper
Cortisol production is stimulated by ACTH secretion from the anterior pituitary via numerous
feedback mechanisms according to the circadian rhythm, with peak levels in the early morning and
smaller fluctuations throughout the day. ACTH secretion is stimulated by CRH in the
hypothalamus which is stimulated by things such as: decreases in plasma cortisol, hypoglycemia,
stress, and infection. Secretion of ACTH leads to conversion of cholesterol to cortisol in the zona
fasciculata of the adrenal gland via various cytochrome P450 enzymes. Increased levels of cortisol
itself cause negative feedback on the pituitary and hypothalamus. The zona glomerulosa is the site
of production of Aldosterone, the principal mineralocorticoid, via similar mechanisms (cytochrome
p 450.) Aldosterone production is stimulated by activation of the renin angiotensin system in
response to decreased intravascular volume (sensed by baroreceptors), decreased sodium levels
sensed in the macula densa of the nephron, and by the sympathetic nervous system in response to
stress.

The survey results would be analyzed to discover any correlations between the three sections. I
would correlate each of the demographic factors to the self efficacy score to determine if any
patterns emerge indicating that self efficacy has an impact on lifestyle and experiences outside of
abuse, or conversely, whether lifestyle has an impact on self efficacy. This survey would be too
limited to distinguish which is driving the other, except to say that a relationship of some kind
exists, and that could provide a jumping off point for future research.
I would also correlate each participant s self efficacy score to the scores from the biographical area

To understand the variation in responses, I would identify the measures of dispersion for self
efficacy scores and each of the maltreatment subcategories (past and present, victim, and offender
against minor and against partner incidents). Discussion
Needless to say, this survey would in no way provide conclusive information regarding how to
break the cycle of violence. It would, however, provide insight into the connection that may exist
between a person s level of self efficacy and their experience of abuse, both as victim and
perpetrator. This would be extremely beneficial to anyone involved in assisting abuse victims
because it would provide the knowledge and motivation to help clients develop self efficacy,
thereby arming them with at least one of the requisite tools to safeguard them against becoming a
victim or offender. My hope is that by enhancing victims self efficacy, future generations can be
spared because victims will go forward making healthier choices than did their predecessors. That
is assuming, of course, that my hypothesis is correct, and a high level of self efficacy is correlated
to low involvement in the cycle of violence.

Brand Loyalty Case Study
4. Brand Loyalty: Aaker (1996) defined brand loyalty as the attachment of a customer to a brand.
According to the attitudinal perspective, brand loyalty is defined as a deeply held commitment to
re buy a preferred product or service consistently in the future despite situational influences and
marketing efforts having potential to cause switching behavior (Oliver, 1997).From the behavioral
perspective Odin, Odin and Valette Florence (2001) suggested that the customer who buys the brand
systematically is considered loyal to this brand. Authors may differ in defining the brand loyalty
but they all agree on the importance of focusing on loyal customers and trying to increase their
number and their loyalty. Managers know that loyal customers do buy more with willingness to
spend more, are easier to reach and act as an advocate for the brands firms (Chaudhuri and
Holbrook, 2001; Odin, et al., 2001; Oliver, 1997).

Essay on Nicholas I
Nicholas I
Nicholas I has been portrayed, and perhaps rightfully so, as a strict and reactionary tsar. Indeed, his
internal policies were often repressive he sought to nip any liberalism in the bud, often brutally. His
approach to solving problems in the Empire and keeping control was to create the Nicholas system ,
a bureaucratic system defined by and completely based on absolute monarchy. Nicholas revamped
govermental structure by strengthening and centralizing bureaucratic structures to an
unprecedented degree. He did this as an attempt to deal with all of Russia s problems himself. At
most importantly the structure known as His Majesty s own Chancery, which was the nerve center
of the empire s administrative mechanisms. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There demands would have been politically disadvantageous to Nicholas Poland was the one
European country in his Empire. If he lost Poland, he would lose his foothold in Europe and
Russia would easily be classified as simply an Asiatic empire. At first, Nicholas attempts to
squelch the rebellion were disastrous his general was not effective at all in battle strategy and
many of his men were being killed by cholera. In fact, his brother Konstantin was killed by the
same disease. Finally, after switching generals, Nicholas was able to regain Poland. However, his
Polish policies made him unpopular with France and England. Public opinion was decidedly on the
side of the Polish insurgents.
Furthermore, Russia experienced a cholera epidemic in 1830 1, a potential cause for disorder.
Nicholas retreated to his summer residence in Peterhof to avoid the plague. The populace was
left in the care of an inefficient administration and started to grow restless. Rumors started going
around that there was no real cholera problem, but rather people had been hired to go around
poisoning food and drink. Mobs were formed and on July 3, there was serious rioting in the capital
of St. Petersburg. The mobs invaded hospitals, broke the windows, threw medical supplies into the
street, and attacked the doctors. After all this rioting, Nicholas returned to the capital to confront his
people. In a typical flourish of drama, he

Examples Of Inventions During The European Industrial...
Inventions during the European Industrial Revolution
There are many inventions during the European Industrial Revolution that impacts society for
Europeans. There are inventions that made other inventions better and also inventions that
revolutionized inventions that we already possessed. A man named James Kay in 1733 invented
one of the inventions called the Flying Shuttle. He built it, supposedly, with nothing more that a
pocketknife and his tool. The flying shuttle improved on the old hand loom. A worker pulled a
cord rope back and forth to send a small piece of canoe shaped wood, or shuttle, flying across a
wood frame through threads to weave cloth. The flying shuttle was a small improvement and was
still powered by man other than coal, wind, water. Nonetheless it began the crucial process by
which unskilled workers could produce more cloth with machines that skilled workers could
produce by hand. This invention in my opinion made a big impact to the European Industrial
Revolution. I think just about all of these inventions are very good for society, and changed the
world as we know it today.

England, as well as the main material for shipbuilding and housing construction. By the end of the
seventeenth century few forests remained. By the early seventeen hundreds, the easy to open coal

Multiple Sclerosis Report
Worldwide, more than 2.3 million people are currently affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS). This
condition is a life long, potentially debilitating disease of the central nervous system (CNS)
(Pasquier, 2014, 537). Specifically, it is a chronic auto immune disease that attacks the central
nervous system. Furthermore, the person s own immune system does not recognize the neurons
and attacks the myelin, and the nerve fibers it covers and protects. The myelin then creates scar
tissue which causes damage and keeps the nerve impulses in the neuronfrom being able to travel to

What patients experience due to this disease are a range of physical and cognitive problems.
According to Bonafede (2013), these symptoms may include difficulty with balance, muscle
coordination, memory, concentration, vision and speech. Moreover, they may come and go or
become progressively worse, which will end up hindering the person s abilities and productivity.
Until recently, the major course of therapy only included the use of steroids, due to their
immunosuppressive qualities; however, now several new compounds have been developed and
approved, in hopes to change the course of the disease (Tavazzi, 2014, 833). Current available
treatments include steroids and Glatiramer acetate, Natalizumab, and Fingolimod. The first,
suppresses the immune system to reduce the inflammatory response, thus avoiding the immune
cells from entering the central nervous system. However, long term use of steroids puts the patient
at risk for infection or hypertension; so, during the use of these drugs one must make into account
if the benefits outweigh the risk. The latter, is a synthetic amino acid polymer resembling myelin
basic protein, delivered via injection (Tavazzi, 2014, 833). To be more specific, it is thought to set
the immune system so as not to attack the myelin, so as to reduce its scarring and damage to the
CNS. It has been shown to be safe and well tolerated. Some

Data Hiding With Codeword Substitution Essay
The paper proposes data hiding with codeword substitution in encrypted H.264/AVC video streams.
Here video is encrypted and data is hided in the video to maintain the security and privacy. In this
way data hiding in encrypted domain without decryption preserves confidentiality of the content.
By analyzing the property of H.264/AVC codec, the codeword of the intra prediction modes, the
code words of motion vector differences and code words of residual coefficients are encrypted with
the stream ciphers. The data hider may embed additional data in the encrypted domain by using
code word substitution technique, without knowing original content. Data extraction can be done
in encrypted domain or in the decrypted domain.

Swot Analysis For A Pharmacy
Every business has its strength, weakness, opportunities and threats. These days most of the
businesses do SWOT analysis for improvement. I work at a leading pharmacy in Newark, so I
decided to do a SWOT analysis on it. This pharmacy started business in 2012. I chose this business
because it is the ideal business to do the SWOT analysison, as it has its advantages and
disadvantages. The SWOT analysis allowed me to find all the flaws as well as advantages of the
pharmacyas well as ways to improve and to protect it from threats. If a business has many
weaknesses, the SWOT analysis can help the workers and owners of the business become aware
of it and can allow them to improve the business. So no harm or disadvantages come from doing
the SWOT analysis.
First advantage of the SWOT analysis is it identifies the strength of the business. The pharmacy I
work at has location, long term customers, and the acceptance of all health insurances as its
strength. The pharmacy I work at does not have any competitors nearby, the customers are regulars
and only get their medication from here, and accepting all health insurances allows us to have
more customers. The more customers, the more profit. The long term customers allow us to be
insured that our customers are loyal to us and will continue with our service. Being conscience of
all your business s strengths allows you to also see its weaknesses.
Believe it or not, but being aware of your businesses weaknesses is beneficial for you.

Vaping Vs Smoking Research Paper
In 2016 there were more than 480,000 deaths annually from smoking according to the CDC. With
that in mind, is vaping a good and safer alternative to smoking? Vapor products are
noncombustible electronic devices that contain no tobacco and do not emit smoke. Vaping devices
create vapor by heating a coil or wire that is wrapped around a cotton or rayon wick, this, in turn,
vaporizes the liquid which in then inhaled giving the effect and feeling of inhaling smoke from a
cigarette. Smokingdelivers nicotineto the user s body via combustion and smoke inhalation. The
combustion is what makes smoking so bad for you. When the tobaccois burned, it releases
thousands of toxic chemicals into your body. Vaping allows users to choose different flavors

Structure Fire
Reducing the Spread of Structure Fires
Nameless
Abstract
This paper gives an overview of just a few of the ways fire companies can help limit the spread of
a structure fire. A few factors to take into consideration that are discussed here are ventilation,
nozzle type, and time. Along with the ways that these concepts can help reduce the spread of a
structure fire are ways that, if used incorrectly or misjudged, can greatly worsen the situation and
the behavior of the fire.
Reducing the Spread of Structure Fires
Structure fires can spread very rapidly if proper precautions are not taken. Fire companies have a
variety of actions they can take and many factors to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(West et al. s, 2009, para. 20 51).
If PPV is used incorrectly it can cause severely dangerous fire behavior which can result in
deaths or injuries to firefighters and civilians. Some common problems that can cause this
severe fire behavior are the lack of an exhaust opening, an insufficient exhaust opening size, and
a lack of leadership and organization. West et al. s (2009) states that, If PPV is not effective,
increased air flow is accompanied with turbulence and resultant mixing of fuel and air which
increases the probability of ignition and rapid fire progression (para. 20). Overall, ventilation can
be a great way to effectively limit the spread of fires, however, incorrect use can worsen the
situation and the fire can become an increased threat to firefighters and civilians.
Another thing that can significantly impact and limit the spread of a structure fire is the nozzle
type. There are three basic types of nozzle patterns, smooth bore nozzles, fog nozzles, and specialty
nozzles. Each of these is very important and has many different uses during a fire. The one most
talked about is the fog nozzle. The fog nozzle can provide a number of stream shapes to suit
different types of fire situations. Fog nozzles break the water that runs through it into small
droplets, which is believed to create more surface area than a solid stream. The water absorbs the
heat and turns it into steam which displaces the oxygen and suffocates

A Police Officer
The bill I will be introducing from the 84th session will be HB474. This is a bill that requires
officers to wear body cameras while preforming their job with the public (Reynolds). I will be
informing you on the positive and negative sides of the bill. I will give you my opinion on this
bill and why I chose it. I will also inform you on who introduced it and a partial background.
Finally I will inform you if the bill passed and became a law or not. In recent years, there has been
a huge movement with policebrutality. There has also been a movement with Black Lives Matter.
These two groups almost always go together. The media has been a big factor in these
movements. Facebook and Twitter are key sites in showing how innocent minorities get into
trouble just by the way they look. Many followers of these movements believe that it is a type of
cultural and racial discrimination. An oath to protect is what they did. The life of a police officeris
probably one of the most dangerous jobs out there. These people are human, some have families
of their own. It is hard sometimes to see their side of the story. These people are not perfect, but
personally they need to be very close to it. Any time a police officer decides to pull the trigger
they need to understand the consequences that will come with it. The media will tend to eat it
up. Make a story and get a huge crowd in the public to hate every single police officer. It is hard to

as a cyclone cellar . Whenever Dorothy set foot outside the house, all she would notice is how
gray and dull everything would look; including her aunt Em. She who once was a young and

The Case Of Mr. Stevens
Sam Stevens lives in an apartment building owned by his landlord, Mr. Quinn, where he has been
working on an invention that plays the sound of a barking dog to scare off potential intruders. A
national chain store has contacted Mr. Stevens, and would like to sell his product exclusively.
Despite the fact that Mr. Stevens and the store never signed a physical contract, he verbally told a
store manager several months ago that he would ship 1,000 units. Now, the chain store has just
contacted Mr. Stevens via letter, demanding that he deliver the promised 1,000 units immediately
(Southern New Hampshire University, n.d.).
There exists a second issue in the case of Mr. Stevens as well, regarding an eviction notice from his
landlord, telling him he has to be out of the apartment in 30 days because the barking invention has
been bothering the other tenants. The letter further states that Mr. Stevens was not allowed to
conduct his business from his apartment. Mr. Stevens is upset because he claims to have told
Quinn that he was working on a new invention, and the landlord had wished him luck (Southern
New Hampshire University, n.d.).
In regards to the issue between Mr. Stevens and the chain store, various elements must be present to
prove that a valid contract exists. The four elements to a contract are: agreement between the
parties, consideration, contractual capacity, and finally, legal object (Kubasek, Browne, Giampetro
Meyer, Barkacs, Herron, Williamson, Dhooge, 2011).

Analysis Of Paul Green Theatre At Detroit 67 And Took My...
When I walked into Paul Green Theatre to watch Detroit 67 and took my seat on stage right, my
first thought was this story is going to be entirely depressing. The scene was a dingy living space
of a family in the 1960 s with a cold concrete floor that served as a modest barrier between the stage
and audiencealong with a dimly lit single room containing a couch and a record player in the
front of the stage. I could almost feel the chilly aura being emitted from the concrete floor and
poorly painted, solid grey steps leading up to the stage exit. In the back of the setting was a
combined kitchen, wash, and bar area. All these signs of destitution were nothing special except
for one piece of the scenery that did not fit the rest. The Christmas lights that served as decor for
the backstage bar area stood out to me and I figured the time took place around Christmastime.
Even still, the lights could not eradicate the dreary feeling looming overhead in the dark theatre.
Then, I heard the music and everything changed.
Suddenly, Marvin Gaye s voice broke through my deep, somber thoughts and gave me a glimmer of
hope. There was no doubt that I was hearing Ain t No Mountain High Enough, and I knew at that
point that the play would have have a resilient message. The setlists of this play would include
many more 60 s top artist, such as The Temptations, Four Tops, and Earth,Wind, Fire. This was a
great way to tell the story before the main presentation of the story took place. I

The Crime Of Computer Forensics
Computer Forensics
In a world where technology is increasingly becoming the way of life, it was only a matter of
time before crime was no longer just in the streets but happening online as well. Criminals now
get a new approach to carry out their crimes with the use of computers. Since technology is more
like a murder mystery than catching the bad guy in the act, a new discipline of forensics needed to
be put into place. This is known as computer forensics. Forensic science is any science used for the
purpose of law. In the case of computer forensics it is the discipline that combines elements of law
and computer science to collect and analyze data from computer systems, networks, wireless
communications, and storage devices in a way that is admissible as evidence in a court of law
(U.S. Cert, 2008). Meaning if you do something illegal on the Internet it can be found. Since the
widespread use of computers, computer crime has caused an increase in computer investigations
during the twenty first century. Some reasons for investigation include: identity theft, such as stolen
social security and credit card numbers, to find evidence of a cheating spouse, to investigate
hackers on a computer system, to find evidence of child pornography, and much more.
History of Computer Forensics
The 1970s were when military investigators first started finding instances of computer related
criminal activity and needed a more comprehensive approach for solving these technical crimes.

Florence is home to many wonderful painters and artists during the renaissance. The one who did

and author. This artifact shows how extravagant they had gotten with their art, using perspective,
shading and the influences of humanism to paint. This shows the true art of this time period.
Why was Florence important?
Florence is arguably the starting place of the renaissance. With many different artists there, the

This artifact is in Libon. This statue is dedicated to Henry the Navigator. He sent a lot of people

He was very important to Portugal and the exploration era.
Why was Lisbon Important?
Lisbon is the main area that Henry the Navigator sent out his ships to discover the new world.

William Bridge s three step change model deals with change at a more granular, individual level,
suggesting that change within a health care organization means that individuals must transition
from one identity to a new identity when they are involved in a process of change (Campbell, 2008,
p. 23). According to Bridge, for change to take place, three transition periods must be experienced,
including endings, the neutral zone, and beginnings (Campbell, 2008). This model is appropriate
for the current changes made in our facility because it focuses on individuals and their ability to
transition to change. Change is something that happens to people, even if they do not agree with it.
Transition, on the other hand, is internal, it s what happens in people s minds as they go through
change. Change can happen very quickly while transition usually occurs more slowly (Mind Tools
Editorial Team, n.d, p. 1). Changes made in the workplace require transitioning for employees, this
is why I feel it is important that administrators and committee members utilize this model as our

Self Reflexivity In Oral History
Sugiman illustrated four ways that self reflexivity was essential for an oral historian, those
being able to navigate opposing or contesting ideas, being open to critique, being aware of ones
own biases, and being conscious of self and personal choices and objectives (p. 301). In terms of
being open to critique, this is important for any type of work and it allows for growth as a

For example if you know that you are a person that does not like being lied to and you are in an

Although it will really be a case by case situation but having a plan on whether to call them out,

Essay On Annotated Bibliographies
When first brainstorming what topic I was going to pick for each annotated bibliography, it took
me a while before I settled on a topic for each essay. While reflecting on my writing process, I
came to the conclusion that more time would have definitely benefited my argument for each of
these annotated bibliographies. If I had more time on each of these essays, I would have looked
in more databases to try and find a wider variety of sources to argue each point. Since I can not
search across all the databases at once, I picked out what looked to be the best database for each
topic. For example, my public argument is on abortion, so I went straight to the sociology database.
My other argument was about blockchain technology, so I went do my... Show more content on

While doing this, I found out that some of the sources were not what I thought they were going to
be. For example, one of the sources for my public argument seemed like it was against abortion, but
once I got to the end, I found out that the author was actually for abortion. I had this problem while
writing both of my essays, so I had to go back to the databases to find new sources. I think the most
important change I made during the writing process was changing a few of my sources to ones that
would better validate the arguments in each annotated bibliography. After searching within the
database for a while, I was able to find other articles that gave me a wider range of information
and statistics to choose from. If I would have not taken the time to go back and find sources that
would better fit my argument, I would have needed to do it later in the writing process of each essay
. Because of this, I went back for both of my annotated bibliographies and replaced some of the
sources that I thought were good at first, but after reading more into them I found that they did not
provide me with the evidence I

Annotated Bibliography On Database Encryption
1. INTRODUCTION Database Encryption is one of the technique used for securing the data in
database. This method transforms information on a computer in such a way that it becomes
unreadable. So, even if someone is able to gain access to a computer with personal data on it,
they likely won t be able to do anything with the data unless they have original data key,
complicated or expensive software. The main function of encryption is essentially to translate
normal text into cipher text. Encryption makes sure that data doesn t get read by the wrong
people, but can also ensure that data isn t altered in transit, and verify the identity of the sender.
Data Encryption method typically uses a specified parameter or key to perform the data
transformation. Some encryption algorithms require the key to be the same length as the message
to be encoded, yet other encryption algorithms can operate on much smaller keys relative to the
message. Encryption is most used among transactions over insecure channels of communication,
such as the internet. Encryption is also used to protect data being transferred between devices such
as mobile telephones, automatic teller machines (ATMs), and many more. Encryption can be used
to create digital signatures, which allow a message to be authenticated. When properly
implemented, a digital signature gives the recipient of a message reason to believe the message
was sent by the claimed sender. 2. THREATS TO DATABASE 2.1 Database Databases are the

The Confessional Style Of Poetry
Julia Krieman Sensei Drugan ENC 1101.012 16 October 2016
The world gives you so much pain and here you are making gold out of it. (Kaur, 185) This
excerpt from Rupi Kaur s collection of confessional poems, Milk and Honey, shows her feelings
towards poetry as an art. It explains how the confessional style of poetry allows artists to transform
their pain and feelings into art. Art is always changing, new ideas are brought about, artists
create with different purposes. The art of poetry is constantly evolving, poets introduce different
ideas and styles based on the message they are trying to portray. The confessional style of poetry
is one that allows the poet to speak freely; it is personal and allows the author to share emotions,
thoughts, and feelings. Within the last decade the confessional style of poetry has changed
because of the growth of certain social issues. It has become a way for poets to express their
feelings towards topics like these or describe their personal experiences in a poetic way. Writing
in the confessional style of poetry has allowed poets to have more freedom in recent years to
discuss and write their feelings towards specific, pressing topics such as feminism and mental
illnesses.
In recent years, poetry has become a way for poets to describe their feelings and opinions of the
social issue that has the new title of feminism. The confessional style allows artists to draw from
their own experiences and traumas and create poetry. It gives them the

Project Organization And Management Structure
Project organization and Management Structure: As the experimental methods are
complementary to each other, but are not critically interdependent, the cooperative design of my
research plans will greatly facilitate my ability to accomplish the specific aims. To monitor the
progress and project quality, I will conduct meetings with Prof. Battaglia on a bi weekly basis,
write monthly reports that can be incorporated into peer reviewed publications, and present my
research outcomes at lab group meetings on a quarterly term. This way I can keep on a self
consistent project monitoring process and receive essential feedback from Prof. Battaglia and my
prospective colleagues in the laboratory on a regular basis. My primary experimental components
(objectives 2, 3, and 4) can move forward synergistically via this approach of using feedback and
reinforcing the steady quality management process. I will personally manage the scientific and
technical aspects of the proposal, including acquiring data, analyzing results, and writing
manuscripts for publication. The UCL European Research and Innovation Office (ERIO),
specifically steering the management of EU awards, will help me manage the financial part of the
project. Risks that might endanger reaching objectives and the contingency plans: The primary risk
concerns: a) structural integrity of polymersomes, b) sample compatibility with spectroscopic
approaches a) Sample preparation issues could include alternation of

Sexual Harassment is NOT Tolerable Essay

conduct of a sexual nature constitutes sexual harassment when submission to or rejection of this
conduct clearly or completely affects an individual s employment, unreasonably interferes with an
individual s work routine or creates a threatening, antagonistic or unpleasant work environment
(EEOC, 2002). The victim or harasser can either be a man or a woman, and sexual harassmentis not
always targeted to members of the opposite sex. Sufferers of sexual harassment in the place of

To avoid sexual harassment s expensive penalty and diminish its occurrence, employers need to
recognize and understand both the reason for the harassment and the precise form of power being
abused (UMC, 2007).
According to Goodman (1991), power in sexual harassment has been viewed differently by men
and women. The literature on sexual harassment generally characterizes it as an abuse of either
role or sexual power. From the cases Goodman (1991) mentions in her report, it can be noted that
for men, power comes from official authority, and they view sexual harassers as principally
managers and supervisors. Men acknowledged that co workers could sexually harass one
another, but co worker harassment was mainly seen as a mix up (UMC, 2007). However, women
often distinguish all members of an organization as possible harassers, viewing it can be initiated
by any person who is perceived as having power.
However, it has been claimed that sexual harassment regulations are based on the point of view of
the victim, nearly always a woman, and based almost completely on the feelings of the victim.
Many men have argued that, it is almost impracticable to understand each other s feelings, and
many suits filed for sexual harassment supposed as misunderstandings between the two parties
(Goodman, 1991). Paul (2001) agrees that or women to expect respectful treatment in the
workplace is utopian, yet he also

Food Waste Disposal and Reduction
According to the Society of St. Andrew the United States spends about 1 billion dollars a year
just to dispose of food waste (1). Food waste is food material that is unable to be eaten or sold
which is discarded as trash. Food should be too precious to Americans to waste. It nourishes
people s bodies and brings families together, and they treat food as if it has little to no worth.
Food is discarded on farms, while being transported and in retail stores before being sold; it is
also discarded in everyday households. Americans are their own enemy, increasing food waste
everyday by not being aware of the outcome. Reducing food waste will bring upon many benefits
within society but consumers and businesses have to be willing to put forth the effort. There are
simple solutions that can be implicated in production, distribution and households in order to
decrease food waste. The quality of food in society has declined due to its accessibility. There are
convenient grocery stores in a communities selling food. There is an enormous amount of people
suffering from poverty and hunger. There are 854 million people in the world who are chronically
malnourished. (Sanchez 1). People suffering from world hunger, do not receive enough intake of
nutrients that are composed in food, some do not eat at all receiving no nutrients. The increase of
food waste is decreasing other natural resources like water, land, and energy. Landfills are
becoming more popular, the thrown out food has to be

In 1968, BSN attempted a hostile takeover of French glass industry giant Saint Gobain, five
times the size of BSN. The takeover attempt fell through, but the event made Antoine Riboud a
wellknown figure in French business. Instead of continuing his company s specialization in
glass, Antoine Riboud decided to enter the food business with acquisitions of mineral water
company Evian, French brewer Kronenbourg, and SociГ©tГ© europГ©enne de brasserie (the
European Breweries Company). By 1970, BSN had become the leading French manufacturer of
beer, mineral waters, and baby food.1 Venturing into Yogurt The company carrying the name
Danone was originally established by the Greek doctor Isaac Carasso in Barcelona, Spain, in
1919. Diagnosing locals with digestive problems Carasso introduced a Balkan tradition that
treated such conditions with yogurt. He imported cultures from Bulgaria and the Pasteur Institute
in Paris, France, and initially sold his yogurts through pharmacies as medicine. Carasso was the
first person to perfect an industrial process for making yogurt and named his company after his
son Daniel.2 Daniel Carasso moved to France in the late 1920s where he ran the company after his
father s death. At the dawn of World War II, Carasso handed over Danone to friends and fled to the
United States, where he established his business under the name Dannon. After the War, Carasso

Civil engineers must be prepared to follow the project from start to finish, they need to be willing to endure extra hours and make any changes that seem necessary to complete the project while ensuring the safety of the people. The average civil engineer works full time, and about one in four engineers work more than forty hours a week, which could be even more depending on their role and position on the construction job. • 15. Cortisol Research Paper Cortisol production is stimulated by ACTH secretion from the anterior pituitary via numerous feedback mechanisms according to the circadian rhythm, with peak levels in the early morning and smaller fluctuations throughout the day. ACTH secretion is stimulated by CRH in the hypothalamus which is stimulated by things such as: decreases in plasma cortisol, hypoglycemia, stress, and infection. Secretion of ACTH leads to conversion of cholesterol to cortisol in the zona fasciculata of the adrenal gland via various cytochrome P450 enzymes. Increased levels of cortisol itself cause negative feedback on the pituitary and hypothalamus. The zona glomerulosa is the site of production of Aldosterone, the principal mineralocorticoid, via similar mechanisms (cytochrome p 450.) Aldosterone production is stimulated by activation of the renin angiotensin system in response to decreased intravascular volume (sensed by baroreceptors), decreased sodium levels sensed in the macula densa of the nephron, and by the sympathetic nervous system in response to stress. It would, however, provide insight into the connection that may exist between a person s level of self efficacy and their experience of abuse, both as victim and perpetrator. This would be extremely beneficial to anyone involved in assisting abuse victims because it would provide the knowledge and motivation to help clients develop self efficacy, thereby arming them with at least one of the requisite tools to safeguard them against becoming a victim or offender. My hope is that by enhancing victims self efficacy, future generations can be spared because victims will go forward making healthier choices than did their predecessors. Inventions during the European Industrial Revolution There are many inventions during the European Industrial Revolution that impacts society for Europeans. There are inventions that made other inventions better and also inventions that revolutionized inventions that we already possessed. A man named James Kay in 1733 invented one of the inventions called the Flying Shuttle. He built it, supposedly, with nothing more that a pocketknife and his tool. The flying shuttle improved on the old hand loom. A worker pulled a cord rope back and forth to send a small piece of canoe shaped wood, or shuttle, flying across a wood frame through threads to weave cloth. The flying shuttle was a small improvement and was still powered by man other than coal, wind, water. Nonetheless it began the crucial process by which unskilled workers could produce more cloth with machines that skilled workers could produce by hand. This condition is a life long, potentially debilitating disease of the central nervous system (CNS) (Pasquier, 2014, 537). Specifically, it is a chronic auto immune disease that attacks the central nervous system. Furthermore, the person s own immune system does not recognize the neurons and attacks the myelin, and the nerve fibers it covers and protects. The myelin then creates scar tissue which causes damage and keeps the nerve impulses in the neuronfrom being able to travel to the brainor the spinal cord. Until recently, the major course of therapy only included the use of steroids, due to their immunosuppressive qualities; however, now several new compounds have been developed and approved, in hopes to change the course of the disease (Tavazzi, 2014, 833). • 26. Structure Fire Reducing the Spread of Structure Fires Nameless Abstract This paper gives an overview of just a few of the ways fire companies can help limit the spread of a structure fire. A few factors to take into consideration that are discussed here are ventilation, nozzle type, and time. Along with the ways that these concepts can help reduce the spread of a structure fire are ways that, if used incorrectly or misjudged, can greatly worsen the situation and the behavior of the fire. Reducing the Spread of Structure Fires Structure fires can spread very rapidly if proper precautions are not taken. Fire companies have a variety of actions they can take and many factors to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (West et al. s, 2009, para. 20 51). If PPV is used incorrectly it can cause severely dangerous fire behavior which can result in deaths or injuries to firefighters and civilians. Some common problems that can cause this severe fire behavior are the lack of an exhaust opening, an insufficient exhaust opening size, and a lack of leadership and organization. West et al. s (2009) states that, If PPV is not effective, increased air flow is accompanied with turbulence and resultant mixing of fuel and air which increases the probability of ignition and rapid fire progression (para. 20). Overall, ventilation can be a great way to effectively limit the spread of fires, however, incorrect use can worsen the situation and the fire can become an increased threat to firefighters and civilians. Another thing that can significantly impact and limit the spread of a structure fire is the nozzle type. There are three basic types of nozzle patterns, smooth bore nozzles, fog nozzles, and specialty nozzles. Each of these is very important and has many different uses during a fire. The one most talked about is the fog nozzle. The fog nozzle can provide a number of stream shapes to suit different types of fire situations. Fog nozzles break the water that runs through it into small droplets, which is believed to create more surface area than a solid stream. The water absorbs the heat and turns it into steam which displaces the oxygen and suffocates ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I will give you my opinion on this bill and why I chose it. I will also inform you on who introduced it and a partial background. Finally I will inform you if the bill passed and became a law or not. In recent years, there has been a huge movement with policebrutality. There has also been a movement with Black Lives Matter. These two groups almost always go together. The media has been a big factor in these movements. Facebook and Twitter are key sites in showing how innocent minorities get into trouble just by the way they look. Many followers of these movements believe that it is a type of cultural and racial discrimination. An oath to protect is what they did. The life of a police officeris probably one of the most dangerous jobs out there. These people are human, some have families of their own. It is hard sometimes to see their side of the story. These people are not perfect, but personally they need to be very close to it. Any time a police officer decides to pull the trigger they need to understand the consequences that will come with it. • 36. Analysis Of Paul Green Theatre At Detroit 67 And Took My... When I walked into Paul Green Theatre to watch Detroit 67 and took my seat on stage right, my first thought was this story is going to be entirely depressing. The scene was a dingy living space of a family in the 1960 s with a cold concrete floor that served as a modest barrier between the stage and audiencealong with a dimly lit single room containing a couch and a record player in the front of the stage. I could almost feel the chilly aura being emitted from the concrete floor and poorly painted, solid grey steps leading up to the stage exit. In the back of the setting was a combined kitchen, wash, and bar area. All these signs of destitution were nothing special except for one piece of the scenery that did not fit the rest. The Christmas lights that served as decor for the backstage bar area stood out to me and I figured the time took place around Christmastime. Even still, the lights could not eradicate the dreary feeling looming overhead in the dark theatre. Then, I heard the music and everything changed. Suddenly, Marvin Gaye s voice broke through my deep, somber thoughts and gave me a glimmer of hope. The Crime Of Computer Forensics Computer Forensics In a world where technology is increasingly becoming the way of life, it was only a matter of time before crime was no longer just in the streets but happening online as well. Criminals now get a new approach to carry out their crimes with the use of computers. Since technology is more like a murder mystery than catching the bad guy in the act, a new discipline of forensics needed to be put into place. This is known as computer forensics. Forensic science is any science used for the purpose of law. In the case of computer forensics it is the discipline that combines elements of law and computer science to collect and analyze data from computer systems, networks, wireless communications, and storage devices in a way that is admissible as evidence in a court of law (U.S. Cert, 2008). Meaning if you do something illegal on the Internet it can be found. Since the widespread use of computers, computer crime has caused an increase in computer investigations during the twenty first century. Some reasons for investigation include: identity theft, such as stolen social security and credit card numbers, to find evidence of a cheating spouse, to investigate hackers on a computer system, to find evidence of child pornography, and much more. • 48. Annotated Bibliography On Database Encryption 1. INTRODUCTION Database Encryption is one of the technique used for securing the data in database. This method transforms information on a computer in such a way that it becomes unreadable. So, even if someone is able to gain access to a computer with personal data on it, they likely won t be able to do anything with the data unless they have original data key, complicated or expensive software. The main function of encryption is essentially to translate normal text into cipher text. Encryption makes sure that data doesn t get read by the wrong people, but can also ensure that data isn t altered in transit, and verify the identity of the sender. Data Encryption method typically uses a specified parameter or key to perform the data transformation. Some encryption algorithms require the key to be the same length as the message to be encoded, yet other encryption algorithms can operate on much smaller keys relative to the message. Encryption is most used among transactions over insecure channels of communication, such as the internet. Encryption is also used to protect data being transferred between devices such as mobile telephones, automatic teller machines (ATMs), and many more. Encryption can be used to create digital signatures, which allow a message to be authenticated. When properly implemented, a digital signature gives the recipient of a message reason to believe the message was sent by the claimed sender. 2. THREATS TO DATABASE 2.1 Database Databases are the ... (Kaur, 185) This excerpt from Rupi Kaur s collection of confessional poems, Milk and Honey, shows her feelings towards poetry as an art. It explains how the confessional style of poetry allows artists to transform their pain and feelings into art. Art is always changing, new ideas are brought about, artists create with different purposes. The art of poetry is constantly evolving, poets introduce different ideas and styles based on the message they are trying to portray. The confessional style of poetry is one that allows the poet to speak freely; it is personal and allows the author to share emotions, thoughts, and feelings. Within the last decade the confessional style of poetry has changed because of the growth of certain social issues. It has become a way for poets to express their feelings towards topics like these or describe their personal experiences in a poetic way. Writing in the confessional style of poetry has allowed poets to have more freedom in recent years to discuss and write their feelings towards specific, pressing topics such as feminism and mental illnesses. In recent years, poetry has become a way for poets to describe their feelings and opinions of the social issue that has the new title of feminism. • 50. Project Organization And Management Structure Project organization and Management Structure: As the experimental methods are complementary to each other, but are not critically interdependent, the cooperative design of my research plans will greatly facilitate my ability to accomplish the specific aims. To monitor the progress and project quality, I will conduct meetings with Prof. Battaglia on a bi weekly basis, write monthly reports that can be incorporated into peer reviewed publications, and present my research outcomes at lab group meetings on a quarterly term. This way I can keep on a self consistent project monitoring process and receive essential feedback from Prof. Battaglia and my prospective colleagues in the laboratory on a regular basis. My primary experimental components (objectives 2, 3, and 4) can move forward synergistically via this approach of using feedback and reinforcing the steady quality management process. I will personally manage the scientific and technical aspects of the proposal, including acquiring data, analyzing results, and writing manuscripts for publication. The UCL European Research and Innovation Office (ERIO), specifically steering the management of EU awards, will help me manage the financial part of the project. Risks that might endanger reaching objectives and the contingency plans: The primary risk concerns: a) structural integrity of polymersomes, b) sample compatibility with spectroscopic approaches a) Sample preparation issues could include alternation of ... To avoid sexual harassment s expensive penalty and diminish its occurrence, employers need to recognize and understand both the reason for the harassment and the precise form of power being abused (UMC, 2007). According to Goodman (1991), power in sexual harassment has been viewed differently by men and women. The literature on sexual harassment generally characterizes it as an abuse of either role or sexual power. From the cases Goodman (1991) mentions in her report, it can be noted that for men, power comes from official authority, and they view sexual harassers as principally managers and supervisors. Men acknowledged that co workers could sexually harass one another, but co worker harassment was mainly seen as a mix up (UMC, 2007). However, women often distinguish all members of an organization as possible harassers, viewing it can be initiated by any person who is perceived as having power. However, it has been claimed that sexual harassment regulations are based on the point of view of the victim, nearly always a woman, and based almost completely on the feelings of the victim. Many men have argued that, it is almost impracticable to understand each other s feelings, and many suits filed for sexual harassment supposed as misunderstandings between the two parties (Goodman, 1991). Instead of continuing his company s specialization in glass, Antoine Riboud decided to enter the food business with acquisitions of mineral water company Evian, French brewer Kronenbourg, and SociГ©tГ© europГ©enne de brasserie (the European Breweries Company). By 1970, BSN had become the leading French manufacturer of beer, mineral waters, and baby food.1 Venturing into Yogurt The company carrying the name Danone was originally established by the Greek doctor Isaac Carasso in Barcelona, Spain, in 1919. Diagnosing locals with digestive problems Carasso introduced a Balkan tradition that treated such conditions with yogurt. He imported cultures from Bulgaria and the Pasteur Institute in Paris, France, and initially sold his yogurts through pharmacies as medicine. Carasso was the first person to perfect an industrial process for making yogurt and named his company after his son Daniel.2 Daniel Carasso moved to France in the late 1920s where he ran the company after his father s death. At the dawn of World War II, Carasso handed over Danone to friends and fled to the United States, where he established his business under the name Dannon. After the War, Carasso came back ...
