The document discusses trends in K-12 online learning enrollment in British Columbia between 2007-2014. Full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollments and headcounts for both public and independent online schools have grown substantially over time. Completion rates for students taking online courses through public schools have also increased and are now close to 90%. The document also outlines the ministry's focus on digital literacy, quality reviews of online programs, a new $600 cap on funding to third-party course providers, and areas of ongoing work related to curriculum, assessment and student supports.

The OECD’s Regional Policy Network on Education and Skills aims to foster knowledge exchange in support of national growth and regional integration. The Network encourages a whole-of-government approach to formulating and implementing sound skills policies. It draws on the growing participation by Southeast Asian countries in the OECD’s education surveys and local job creation policy reviews, which provide valuable comparative data and analysis that can help countries in the region build more efficient and effective employment and skills systems.
Education at a Glance 2020 - United Kingdom launchEduSkills OECD
Andreas Schleicher presents new Education at a Glance data for the United Kingdom, and puts it into the context of the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
Education at a Glance is the authoritative source for information on the state of education around the world. It provides data on the structure, finances and performance of education systems across OECD countries and a number of partner economies. More than 100 charts and tables in this publication – as well as links to much more available on the educational database – provide key information on the output of educational institutions; the impact of learning across countries; access, participation and progression in education; the financial resources invested in education; and teachers, the learning environment and the organisation of schools. The 2020 edition includes a focus on vocational education and training, investigating participation in vocational education and training at various levels of education, the labour market and social outcomes of vocational graduates as well as the human and financial resources invested in vocational institutions. Two new indicators on how vocational education and training systems differ around the world and on upper secondary completion rate complement this topic. A specific chapter is dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goal 4, and investigates the quality and participation in secondary education.

The 2016 edition introduces a new indicator on the completion rate of tertiary students and another one on school leaders. It provides more trend data and analysis on diverse topics, such as: teachers’ salaries; graduation rates; expenditure on education; enrolment rates; young adults who are neither employed nor in education or training; class size; and teaching hours. The publication examines gender imbalance in education and the profile of students who attend, and graduate from, vocational education.
The report covers all 35 OECD countries and a number of partner countries (Argentina, Brazil, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Lithuania, the Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia and South Africa).
This edition includes more than 125 figures and 145 tables. The Excel™ spreadsheets used to create them are available via the StatLinks provided throughout the publication. More data is available in the OECD Education Statistics database.

ABSTRACT
Through the proactive use of data and analytics, Georgia State University has designed a series of interventions which have been partly responsible for raising institutional graduation rates by 22 percentage points. Large-scale programs have included transforming all 7,500 seats in pre-calculus math courses into a hybrid format using adaptive learning (responsible for cutting DWF rates in these courses in half over a five-year period), implementing financial counseling and academic-skills interventions for students who lose the Hope scholarship (which has helped to double the graduation rates for these students), and developing an advising system based on predictive analytics which tracks all undergraduates daily (and which has produced a 5-point increase in semester-to semester retention).

Over the last six years, the Green Bay Area Public School District has made $42.5 milion in revenue enhancements and expenditure reductions. Due to a $534/per student decrease this year, the district had to manage a $20 million deficit. Increaseed staff contributions into retirement and health benefits helped cover $12 million of the shortfall. Additional reductions in restructuring, revenue enhancements, and other means helped cover the remaining $8 million, resulting in a balanced budget.

Using Metrics for Facilities Resource Advocacy at the University of North Tex...Sightlines
All higher education facilities management professionals have a story to tell campus leadership. This story focuses on facility needs in both physical asset management and facilities operational management, and it can be crucial to an institution’s future. How can facilities managers tell their story to have the most influence on key decision makers and gain their support?
This presentation, entitled "Using Metrics for Facilities Resource Advocacy," featured the University of North Texas (UNT) and highlighted how they have effectively used metrics to tell their facilities story. Armed with third-party verified data and associated metrics, facilities leaders were able to help senior decision makers better understand the campus’ facilities. Specifically, UNT was able to accurately inform their leadership of their space profile and financial challenges making the case for additional funds to reduce their backlog. They were also able to gain support from the UNT Board of Regents for a system-wide application of the data gathering and management model. Going forward, UNT is considering ways metrics can be used to help improve their current space utilization on campus.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
