The document describes a student project to measure solar flux at 20.2 GHz and 30.5 GHz using a SATCOM earth station antenna. The objectives are to 1) characterize the SATCOM antenna using available satellite and reference station data and 2) measure solar flux at 20.2GHz and 30.5GHz using the characterized antenna. No observatories currently measure solar flux at these frequencies, so the measurements could benefit researchers. The student is assigned homework to study methods for calculating the antenna's G/T ratio and determining sun flux from G/T measurements.
