Discursive Essay On Euthanasia
Writing a discursive essay on the topic of euthanasia can be a challenging and sensitive task.
Euthanasia, or the deliberate act of ending someone's life to relieve their suffering, is a highly
debated and controversial subject. As a writer, navigating through the intricate web of ethical,
moral, legal, and medical perspectives requires a thorough understanding of the topic and the
ability to present a balanced argument.
The difficulty arises from the need to explore various angles of the issue and weigh the
arguments for and against euthanasia. Tackling the emotional and ethical dimensions while
maintaining a logical and coherent flow can be daunting. Addressing the moral implications,
cultural differences, and the impact on individuals and society adds layers of complexity to the
essay.
Additionally, it is crucial to stay informed about the latest developments in medical and legal
fields related to euthanasia, as this topic is evolving over time. Engaging with relevant literature,
case studies, and expert opinions is necessary to provide a well-researched and informed
perspective.
Moreover, crafting an essay on euthanasia requires a careful selection of language to avoid bias
and emotional manipulation. The writer must present the facts objectively while acknowledging
the diversity of opinions on the matter. Striking the right balance between empathy and
rationality is key to fostering a nuanced and respectful discussion.
In conclusion, writing a discursive essay on euthanasia demands not only excellent research and
analytical skills but also a deep understanding of the ethical considerations surrounding the topic.
It requires the ability to navigate through the emotional terrain while maintaining an objective
stance. With the right approach, a writer can contribute to a meaningful discourse on a topic that
elicits strong opinions. If you need assistance with similar essays or any other academic writing

Termite Problem
There are many individuals who don t know they require a termite and nuisance
control organization that will deal with their furniture. They are not in any case
mindful of the significance of termite trap and how it can dispose of this termite
issue. However, in particular, they don t know that they have a termite issue,
unless it is past the point of no return for them to make a move. This is the reason it
is critical to dispose of the issue before it assumes control over their lives. Before
whatever else, it is vital to comprehend what termites are. These are a types of
creepy crawlies which eat plant and wood. The issue with termite pervasions is that
they can bring about an enormous harm even to structures once they are not
regarded as quickly as time permits. Luckily, there are a couple signs which you can
use to recognize on the off chance that you have a termite issue in your furniture.
Beside having these signs, it is imperative that you do a careful assessment with the
goal that you can verify that your furniture has an invasion. In the meantime, you can
treat the issue before it turns out to be past the point of no return for the harm to be
settled. Keeping in mind the end goal to check on the off chance that you have a

Among these signs, termites normally desert mud tubes. Utilizing the spotlight, you
can check the dim spots of your home for any mud tubes. These as a rule associate
homes to the sustaining destinations of termites. Regularly, they are produced using
soil which is about a similar width of a pencil. In the event that you can see these
passages, you need to get ready yourself and acknowledge that you have a termite
invasion. This implies you have to enlist an expert organization to deal with this issue

Essay on A Lesson before Dying
In the world we live in today, religion is an extremely vibrant factor, not only in the
environment surrounding us but with the people we interact with as well. In Ernest
J. Gaines novel, A Lesson Before Dying, it is easy to see how religion impacts the
community. In a small community such as this noveldepicts, religionis the driving
force behind nearly every decision made in the story and can be justified solely on
the individual s values.
It is interesting to view religion as the most visible consistency in the novel when the
main character, Grant Wiggins, is himself an atheist. Although he himself does not
believe in things such as heaven or hell he is still impacted upon by the community
around him. Grant, an educated man, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this instance we have a man, Jefferson, who needs help to be able to regain his
dignity and die like a man. Even though Grant, an atheist, would not be helping him
do so through religion, he will give him understanding of the importance of his case
to the community.
Religion has many faces in the novel as one would expect, but one face that rings
true is the notion that through religion one can gain dignity. As you can imagine,
living in the South in times such as these was certainly a detriment to African
Americans such as the characters in the novel, but why is it then that African
Americans put, more often than not, so much clout to the community and its
church? For simple reasons of course, because inside the church is where one can
gain back the dignity that is lost nearly everyday through racism. Church is the
only place where anyone can be a leader. Church is the place to express yourself
freely and come together to share a ceremony where racism is not present. Most
importantly church is the place to recognize and evaluate the lives of so many
people that are continually being marginalized. This can be seen as another strong
factor on how religion is central to the community. For example, people that become
leaders inside the church are looked at with more respect, such as Miss Emma, Tante
Lou, and Reverend Ambrose; three very active
Baxter Healthcare Corporation Coagulation Factor 9
Baxter Healthcare Corporation (Baxter) has developed a coagulation factor IX
recombinant drug product named RIXUBIS, which is intended for the treatment and
prevention of bleeding episodes, routine prophylaxis, and perioperative management
of haemophilia B patients. Baxter s recombinant coagulation factor IX is a
glycoprotein secreted by genetically engineered mammalian cells derived from a
Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell line. The development of RIXUBIS is similar to
that of the commercially available BeneFIX but differentiated by the inclusion of two
independent viral inactivation/reduction steps, i.e. solvent / detergent (S/D) treatment
and 15 nm nanofiltration. With these two steps, the overall virus inactivation capacity

Holden Caulfield Individualism
Today, society strives for both individualism and conformity. But individualism
and isolation was not so popular way back in the 1950 s. People considered it
rebellious and narcissistic. For instance, in J.D. Salinger s novel The Catcher in
the Rye, Holden Caulfield is a very individualistic character who is both rebellious
and narcissistic when he talks about himself. He opposes the idea of people
conforming. In fact, he sets himself apart from anyone who does conform, and hates
them for it. His most used word, Phony, is his way of describing these people.
Holden encounters people that show that conforming does have its negative effects. In
his novel, Salinger uses Holden s experience in New York to reflect the issues rising
due to the conformity... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Thomson, in the 1950 s, individuals are cautioned against being
forced into a uniform mold for the sake of social convenience or obedience to
society s dictates [...] We often fail to use our native capacities to their fullest
extent because of conflict with prevailing social standards and ideals
(Blanton,1956:110) (Thomson,507). In other words, we have the potential to
develop our own unique mold , but do not do this because we follow the social
expectations of society. During Holden s argument with Phoebe about becoming a
lawyer, he points out that Even if you did go around saving guys lives and all, how
would you know if you did it because you really wanted to save guys lives, or
because you did it because what you really wanted to do was be a terrific lawyer,
with everybody slapping you on the back and congratulating you in court when the
goddam trial was over (Salinger,190). Holden is trying to explain that if an someone
does follow the social standards, they would be doing the job for themselves rather
than to help people. People do not develop the ability to do something unique because
they are too occupied with spending their time building up their reputation by

Effects of Toning Shoes on Lower Extremity Gait...
In the article titled, Effects of toning shoes on lower extremity gait biomechanics by
Brian Horsak and Arnold Baca, it discusses whether the athlete needs specific tone
shoes to promote muscle activity in the lower limbs. Advertisements and new
technology constantly push for the best athletic shoe in the market, a shoethat
promotes stability, activity, support and reduction of injuries. This article conducts
research to test whether athletic shoes help aid the athlete. One of the shoes that is
tested is the easy tone shoes by Reebok. The study s primary focus is whether the
tone shoe can increase activity in gait patterns. Another shoe that is advertised to
tone the muscles and increase activity, posture, stability, and health is the fitflop.
The fitflop is dense so the instability and the firmness of the shoe helps to tone the
muscles in the leg by increasing activity due to the unstable environment.
Furthermore, I hypothesize that due to new technology and research being
conducted, the fitflop and the easy tone shoes provide the athlete better physical
quality. Therefore, I predict that athletic tone shoes are essential to the performer.
In the article by Horsak and Baca the easy tone shoes are tested to see whether
muscular activity in the leg and gait patterns increase. The shoes are made with two
pods one is located in the front of the shoe and the other pod is in the heel. The pods
purpose is to increase instability and to keep the person

Comparison of Madness and Sanity in Hamlet and Death of a Salesman Could
anyone really determine whether or not a person is mad or sane?
In William Shakespeare s Hamlet and Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman each of
their two main characters, Hamlet and Wily Loman, are put up to this question, but in
each situation their so called madness differs in the cause of them. The ways in which
their madness affects their lives is proven by three actions. These actions are
neglecting their responsibilities, negatively influencing others, and finally distracting
themselves.
It is really never determined whether or not Hamlet and Willy are really mad, but
there is some good details that reflect it. Both characters were once ... Show more

He doesn t even realize that he is jeopardizing his life by not paying attention. Also
Willy wants so much more, but he doesn t even try to make it better. He escapes
like a coward from the present which is the easy way out. With once being in
control and now losing it along with their priorities, it is safe to determine that there
is a bit of madness in them both. As a result of neglecting their responsibilities, they
negatively influence others around them in an indirect way. Hamlet was a nice young
man who was in love at one point. Now by letting everything such as mother s
incestuous relationship with Uncle Claudius and his father s death get to him, he turns
against everyone and becomes a loner. In the first scene he is shown, he is apart
from the crowd. Also once he worshipped his love
Ophelia and now he treats her as if she does not exist. As a result of this bad
treatment, Ophelia goes mad. Here s where all the trouble begins. Because of her
madness, she dies by drowning, but whether or not it is suicide is left up to the reader.
After her suicide, everything comes tumbling down. This begins the downfall of
Hamlet. If he didn t treat her so badly she would not have died and therefore other
deaths would have been avoided. Willy also neglects the ones he loves. He neglects
their feelings, thoughts and also physically neglects them. Happy, his son, lacks a
relationship with his
Living In A Tundra Research Paper
If I was a modern organism I would live in the Tundra. The reasons behind this: it
is cold, it doesn t become that hot, and summer is very long. I would really have to
be careful in an environment like the Tundra, because I can get ill very easily. I
would have to buy food in summer, and eat plants such as bearberries to keep from
getting ill and shrubs. I would also eat other organisms that live in the Tundra.
First, let me describe what the Tundra is. The tundra is the coldest of all biomes. It
comes from the word tunturia. There are two different kinds: Arctic and Alpine. I
would live in the Arctic. Both tundras are settled at 55Лљ to 70Лљ north. The annual

The Importance Of Fashion
One of the most popular trends all around the world is fashion. Fashion is used to
express how someone feels without using words, and it describes the custom or
dress of a person. Many people think fashion is not important, but they use it every
day. It embraces a person s inner beauty and the way people do things. Fashionis not
just clothes or hair styles, it s about how someone feels, how someone acts, and
somebody s perspective on fashion. First and foremost, how someone feels is
important when it comes to fashion because people want to feel happy and
comfortable in their clothes. Clothingimpacts a person s mood, but the outcome is
positive. For example, Danielle Armstrong, is usually grumpy in the morning but
when she throws on bright and joyful clothing, she tends to feel better than when
she woke up. (Hartley) Danielle put on a yellow dress, so she felt happy. Clothing
brings joy to many people, but the color must be bright or it could be there favorite
color. People who oppose of bright clothing are most likely to be in a bad mood,
for example, a girl walks into her class wearing black clothing from head to toe,
someone else walks in with a bright red shirt and a big smile on their face, the girl
wonders why there so happy, turns out it was because of the color clothing the
person had on. (Satenstein) Also, fashion can change a person s entire life around.
There are many reasons why this could happen, for example, many people can suffer
from depression or anxiety
Historical Significance of Eleanor Rigby
Overview A song by Beatles, Eleanor Rigby was released simultaneously on the
album Revolver in the year 1966 as well as on a 45 rpm single. Primarily, the song
was written by Paul McCartney and was dedicated to Lennon McCartney (Miles,
1997). George Martin did a great job at making a string quartet arrangement. The
striking lyrics about loneliness along with the arrangement transformed the kind
of songs from what were mostly pop oriented to the kind that were studio based.
There is no second opinion about the fact that this song made a dent in the
conventions of the popular music; both in terms of lyrics and music (Campbell
and Bondy, 2008). Pertaining to the fates and concerns of the elderly that are
mostly neglected, Richie Unterberger has said that this is one of the main reasons
why Beatles have been able to catch the attention of people who are beyond the
traditional rock audience (Unterberger, 2013). Historical Significance This song
also has a historical connotation since there is a gravestone by the name of
Eleanor Rigby in St. Peter s Churchyard that is situated in Woolton, United
Kingdom. It should be noted that Woolton is a suburb of the city of Liverpool and
this is where Lennon and McCartney first met during a fete at St. Peter s Church.
According to the gravestone that bears the name of Eleanor, she died at the age of
44 in the year 1939. Nonetheless, Eleanor is not the kind of lonely people that the
Beatles have stressed upon in their song as she was

SHAYS S REBELLION AND THE U.S. CONSTITUTION
Introduction
Although not widely known, Shays s Rebellion greatly impacted the debate on
sovereignty and led many to conclude that the only possible solution was the
centralization of power in a national authority. Historian John Garraty notes, The
lessons became plain: Liberty must not become an excuse for license; and therefore
greater authority must be vested in the central government. [1] While this effect was
not the rebels intended goal, Shays s Rebellion helped shape the construction of the
U.S. Constitution and the American political thought that has since followed. An

finally subdued the rebellion in late February when the harsh New England winter
limited the rebels ability to flee government forces. All in all, The fears that were
aroused by the rebellion helped to produce a stronger central government in the
United States. [3] Shays s Rebellion was a major catalyst for the Constitutional
Convention. Frightened by disorder in what was supposed to be the strongest state in
the nation, George Washington and other important national leaders met in
Philadelphia during the summer of 1787 to draft the U.S. Constitution.
Historical Context

Massachusetts was burdened by a $5 million debt comprised of various expenses
incurred during the Revolutionary War. It was also subject to a call for even more

The Process Of Becoming A Veterinarian
Veterinarians do everything in their power to help animals and keep them healthy.
When becoming a veterinarian, one of the most important steps is to take appropriate
courses in high school. Mathematics, biology, physics, social sciences, chemistry and
at least one computer class will come in handy with future studies.
Communication is a very important tool in the veterinary world. It allows the Vet to
convey what is going on with a patient to the owner, and allows the owner to make
an informed decision on what steps to take next regarding the health of their pet.
Another important tool is workplace skills. In this field, observation is the first
sense used to asses an animals health, if there is anything visibly wrong, their mood,
and where the pain (if any) is located as well as being sensitive and careful not to
agitate the animal further. Terminology is a device used for communication as well

Determining Asset protection levels provide the basis for programming security
manpower and equipment. All military assets are designated with one of the four
assigned protection levels. For example, certain systems, such as nuclear weapons
and presidential support aircraft is always Protection Level 1(PL1) at the direction
of authorities above the Air Force, conversely, the less important the resource the

For Example, as systems reach a heightened state of readiness like non alert aircraft
being placed on alert, their relative political and military importance increases and
they may assume a higher protection level.
Protection Level 1 Resources
В•Assign PL1 to military installation resources for which the loss, theft, destruction,

Blood Glucose Research Paper
Blood glucose levels and their regulation can be influenced by alcohol (ethanol)
consumption. Although consuming alcohol can initially create a rise in blood
glucose levels because of its carbohydrate content, excessive alcohol consumption
can cause blood glucose levels to drop to dangerously low levels. When alcohol is
consumed, it is absorbed directly into the bloodstream from the stomach and
intestines; and then travels to the liver to be metabolised. Liver cells contain
enzymes which metabolise the alcohol; they break down the alcohol into other
chemicals which are in turn broken down into water and carbon dioxide. These are
then excreted from the body in the urine and from the lungs. The liver can process
only a certain amount of alcohol per... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, if blood glucose levels rise too steeply, there can be an overproduction of
insulin; which lowers blood glucose levels excessively below the set point. Because
alcohol is toxic and there is no way to store alcohol in the body, it must be
metabolised as quickly as possible. This means that the liver must prioritise
metabolising the alcohol over any other tasks; including regulating blood glucose
levels. Although the liver usually releases glucose into the bloodstream (from its
stored glycogen) when blood glucose levels fall below the set point; while there is
alcohol in the blood it has less capacity to do this. This results in hypoglycemia.
Long term consumption of large amounts of alcohol damages the liver and can lead
to liver disease, which interferes with many aspects of metabolism including
metabolism of glucose. In frequent drinkers the body can also become less sensitive
to insulin; meaning muscle, liver and fat cells will not respond effectively to insulin.
This can lead to long term
Gian Lorenzo Bernini Research Paper
Gian Lorenzo Bernini was a renowned Italian sculptor in the 16th and 17th century.
His first works were inspired by antique classic sculpture, but he later became
influenced by the Counter Reformation, a movement within the Catholic Church that
decided the arts should communicate religious themes (New World Encyclopedia).
Using primarily marble, Bernini created dynamic, large scale sculptures that were
meant to be viewed from all sides, to add a dimension of energy and movement to
his pieces. He also used light manipulation to dramatically alter the mood of a piece (
Gian Lorenzo Bernini Style and Technique ). Bernini, continuously being inspired by
his cultural upbringing, created pieces that centralized around religion. By utilizing
Feudalism Vs Dark Ages
Throughout the course of history, leaders have utilized their resources and wealth to
surround themselves with protection from their enemies. The dark ages and the
arrival of feudalism in Europe were no different. After the fall of the strong Roman
Empire, the entirety of Western Europe lacked a strong central government. People
abandoned their lives in the city because the Germanic tribes had endangered them.
The rural countryside of Western Europe saw the emergence of manors created by
the rich. Manors were self sustaining communities inside the protection of walls. The
idea of a manor was to provide everything the community needed inside the walls

Film Fun Home By Alison Bechdel
Alison Bechdel s comic book Fun Home clearly portrays the importance of gender
roles in the society. She mentions in her book incidents which illustrate as to how
gender plays a major role in forming a person s identity. Throughout the book,
Bechdel suggests how the society has divided people into different genders on the
basis of appearance, duties and behavioural expectations. The society as a whole
needs to re asses these genderroles so that people don t end up ruining their life
thinking about what the society thinks.
In the beginning of the novel we see a difference of opinion between Bechdel and
her dad wherein, Bechdel wants to dress up her own way whereas her dad wants
her accessories to match her dress. This shows the importance of physical
appearance in the society. Throughout the story we see that Bechdel quarrels a lot
with her family in regard to her dress code. Her family seems to be always telling
her to wear appropriate clothes according to her gender. Bechdel seems to be
annoyed with this. She states, Wearing a black dress my father had wrestled me
into, I appear to be in mourning (35). This clearly shows how opposed she is to the
way her father had forced her to dress up. She is a young child who is unaware of
how gender appearances decide the character of a person. Bechdel doesn t care about
what the society thinks about her. For her dressing up the way she wants to is most
important. Another instance is when her dad forces her to
Michael Crichton s Jurassic Park
Matthew Dean
Title of book: Jurassic Park Author: Michael Crichton
1.
The point of view in this novel was the third person point of view. I believe the
author chose this point of view so he could tell everybody s story and not have to
stick with one single storyline of one person s account of what was happening
because that would have made the book very confusing to follow with in my opinion.
2.
The protagonist in Jurassic Park is Dr. Alan Grant. He s the protagonist because he is
the guy I was rooting for when everything was happening and the guy who seems to
play the Hero type role during the story once things started to go south.
The books antagonist is Dennis Nedry because things were going ... Show more

Ellie Sattler: Dr. Alan Grant s partner.

I relate to Dr. Alan Grant the most in the story because he appears to be a very
grounded character, regardless of his position with his intellectual superiority or
even if he s being chased by dinosaurs, he seems to stay humble for the most part
and I feel like that s a value that I would like to have just like this character and is
why I can relate to him.
4.
The story of Jurassic Park begins when a handful of people get mauled by what
appears to be a dinosaur/raptor type creature, and it turns out that the creature that
did the maulings was a part of John Hammonds company and business investment,
International Genetic Technologies, which is Hammonds attempt at making a huge
profit by having a theme park designed around dinosaurs in their natural habitats.
However things go horribly wrong when a computer analyst Dennis Nedry makes a
deal with a rival genetic engineering company Biosyn to steal his own employers
dinosaur embryos. His master plan starts by shutting off the power to the park to
override the security systems but in the end he only ends up releasing the parks
attractions, the dinosaurs. So as you could probably guess pure mayhem ensues as
the characters attempt to escape the park, and the island it is on. Then the book ends
with the park, and island being blown up, but saying that there has been sightings of
reptilian bird like creatures running through the woods in packs deep in the jungles of

Material Handling Of Construction And Civil Works
Material handling in construction and civil works is one of the basic necessities. The
material supply to civil and construction is provided through trucks, dumper etc. The
material should be properly loaded, managed, stacked, transported and unloaded. The
dumper carries the material which is loaded from the site, where the material is
initially stored. It is then loaded to the dumperand transported to the required site and
then unloaded. The major issues raises over here, the incompatibility of the site with
the fully loaded dumper causes a lot of settling time for the trolley to get the material
properly arranged and transportation time to reach its location. The dumper unloads
the material in only one direction. But this incapability can be fulfilled by a new
method mechanism as the unidirectional dumper. This mechanism is an approach to
reduce the idle time to settle the dumper. The material is unloaded in any direction
and hence can be boldly stated as Unidirectional Dumper. The major outcomes of
unidirectional dumper has overcome space requirement which often result in road
blocking. Hence, we have inversion in the existing mechanism providing the
unloading in 1800 rotations. This mechanism prevents blocking of road, saves time
and enhances productivity at lowest cost. The automotive sector is fast booming

Drinking Motives
Drinking motives are defined as the reasons or final pathway to the consumption of
alcohol (Kuntsche, Knibbe, Gmel, Engels, 2006). Cooper (1994) had proposed four
types of drinking motives; (1) Enhancement motives involve drinking to increase
positive affect states or positive moods, such as sensation seeking and pleasurable
moments (Ham Hope, 2003). Alcoholis widely used to fulfil needs for novelty and
stimulation to create the thrills or sensation over the social situations. Reports
suggested that individuals who are internally generated are more consistent across a
drinking situation in how they drink than those of with external motives, resulting in
higher levels of alcohol consumption (Ham Hope, 2003; Loxton, Bunker, Dingle,

Essay on Origins of Popular Sayings
English is an amazing language that reflects many different cultures. Americans have
many popular sayings and figures of speech that, if taken literally, make no logical
sense. If you mention the phrases white elephant, spill the beans, or to pull someone s
leg, they make no sense unless you are familiar with the culture.
The word idiom is used to describe these forms of speech. Idioms are considered to
be part of a nation s culture, and idioms can make learning a foreign language quite
challenging. Scholars have estimated American English to contain at least 25,000
idiomatic expressions. People learning a new language must memorize the meanings
of these phrases like vocabulary, because the interpretations of idioms can be ... Show

The origin of this popular saying will make you smile.
In the early 1700 s an English dramatist named John Dennis created an invention that
would simulate the sound of thunder in one of his theatrical productions. His play
failed dismally. However, later he found that his invention was used to create the
sound of thunder in another performance. Dennis was quoted as saying, They will
not let my play run, but they steal my thunder! The phrase was overheard, passed
along and became a popular saying used in the English language.
To Spill the Beans
When someone spills the beans, they reveal a secret unintentionally. This popular
saying has its origin back in the days of ancient Greece.
When people were voted into many organizations, the membership voted secretly
using colored beans as counters. If one voted for the inclusion of the applicant, one
would discretely drop a white bean into an opaque container. If one voted against the
applicant, one would secretly drop a black or brown bean in the container. Only the
officials knew the results of the voting.
Occasionally, an awkward person might accidentally knock over the container,
spilling the beans and revealing the results of the vote before the appointed time.
This is how the phrase spilling the beans has come to describe someone telling a
secret.

The Roman Emperor By Marcus Ulpius Trajanus
Trajan the Roman Emperor was born as Marcus Ulpius Trajanus. He was of
Spanish descent born on September 18, 52 AD to an Umbrian family. He was
basically brought up in an environment which always involved government and
military affairs, which was the result of his father being a very prominent man. His
father was the first to reach the office of senator, and also commanded the Tenth
Legion of Fretensis during the Jewish War of 67 68 AD. He became consul around
the year 70 AD, and in the year 75 AD, became governor of Syria, and the provinces
of Baetica and Asia. While his father acted as governor of Syria, Trajanserved as
military tribune. A bronze sculpture at Harvard University showcases his physique
in ceremonial armor standing as if addressing his troops. Most artifacts found
showcase his military achievements, and this was no exception. He was dignified
and humble toward the Roman people, and they gave their thanks through artifacts
which still exist today. He was an emperor who enjoyed the brutal aspect of war,
which was because he was good at it. This can be seen through all of his military
achievements as a general. He was naturally very popular with the troops,
especially because he was so willing to share the hardships alongside his soldiers
rather than receiving any type of special treatment. His path toward emperor was a
long and hard one. He had a long and fulfilling career in government before hand.
First, he gained the office of praetorship in 85 AD.

The Relationship between Sensitivity to Reward and Punishment and Eating
Behaviours
Courtney Andrews
Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University
Abstract
A study involving 252 participants undergoing the course Biological Psychology was
carried out in order to examine the correlation between sensitivity to reward (SP),
Body Mass Index (BMI), weight and more frequent consumption of unhealthy fast
foods, (e.g., high in fat and sugar). The core results showed the participants found that
sensitivity to reward was strongly negatively correlated with BMI and weight.
However, both these correlations are not statistically significant at the 95%
confidence level. Alongside this finding, sensitivity to reward was positively
correlated with unhealthy fast foods, which leads to more frequent consumption of
fatty and sugar rich foods. These values were also not statistically significant. This
research needs to consider gender balance inequality, environmental cues such the
accessibility of fast food (e.g., the amount and distance these restaurants are from
their home residence) and one time collection of data used.
The Relationship between Sensitivity to Reward and Punishment and Eating
Behaviours
Undoubtedly, the obesity epidemic in western society has never been so prevalent as
the rate continually is climbing. There is an ample body of research that suggests that

Anne Sexton Bells
Bells, in poetry they are known to be haunting memories or sometimes dreadful
thoughts of the past. In the poem The Bells by Anne Sexton, if you didn t
understand the meaning of bells in poetry, the true message of this poem may be
missed. With this in mind, if you look a little deeper into the poem, the meaning of
the poem will come into view. However, another key detail that is necessary to
know is that through Anne s life she was depressed, approximately all of her
poems had dark thoughts and had a woman being a main subject in a crisis. In the
poem The Bells, the theme, style, and speaker of the poem is clear to see with the
knowledge that is provided above. First of all, the theme in the poem The Bells are

However, both of these meanings centers around the main theme of loss. In the
poem, multiple times it talks about objects or sounds that used to be there and only
now remain in their memory. It says in the first stanza, Only the sound remains
/ the distant thump of the good elephants / the voice of the ancient lions / and how
the bells / trembled for the flying man, and Today the circus poster / is scabbing off
the concrete wall / and the children have forgotten / if they knew at all. / Father, do
you remember? , both are examples of telling the audience that something was once
there before, something exciting and wonderful, but now haunting. The first quote
talks about how the people remember the sounds of the animals of the circus and
the sounds of the flying man as he gets shot in the sky possibly by a cannon. With
both of the lines, however, when the poem is read numerous times after the initial
first time, the feeling of the deserted circus is there and feels haunting like
something bad may have happened to cause the circus to leave or disappear. Now,
the main point of the poem either means that you should cherish the wonderful
moments before they disappear or to be cautious of what you do. This is because
when the poem is read, two different ideas come

operative dilemma as there are no standard surgical procedure. Here we present a case
of giant inguinoscrotal hernia which was partly reducible. Patient underwent mesh
repair after reduction of content through inguinal and lower midline laprotomy with
scotal reconstruction.
Key words: Giant inguino scrotal hernia, mesh repair.
Introduction:
Giant inginoscrotal hernia are defined as, extending beyond the midpoint of thigh in
standing position. Such cases are due to neglect of symptoms by the patient till it
affects the quality of life or present with complications. Operative intervention in such
cases is assosciated with high motality and post operative complications. We present a
case of giant inguinoscrotal hernia, partially reducible with no co morbidities. Case
Report:
A 49yrs Auto rickshaw driver presented to us with the complains of swelling in right
groin since 20yrs which was initially reducible and since last 5yrs its not reducible.
Patient had difficulty in walking and performing his daily activities. Patient is a
smoker since 30yrs.
On examination: Right sided Ingunioscrotal swelling extending upto lower 1/3 of
thigh in standing position, non reducible, cough impulse present, right side testis was
atropic with elongated spermatic cord.
Preoperatively patient was advised to quit smoking and incentive spirometry

culture and roots. However, being Hispanic is living in fear. Being Hispanic
means sometimes you don t know if your parents will come home from work. It s
being petrified that your dad may get pulled over because he is driving without a
license. Being Hispanic is seeing your mom come home, tired from a low paying
job, because she could not pursue an education. Hispanic means working hard in life

times like this, it s easy to let this discourage who you are. For some, it s easier to

than love; nothing speaks louder than roaring with success. There is a huge
importance in the concept of standing up. It s time to rise up. Do more. Give more.
Use your voice to speak up for those who can t. Use the power within your legs to

their morals and ethics, not by the color of their skin. Defy the odds. Join

Research shows that conservatives are more religious than liberals. In the past studies
on conservatism and liberalism, the conservatives had a more defensive thought
process. They showed both groups pictures that consisted of open wounds, spiders,
snakes, and other threats our ancestors had to defend themselves with. conservatives
showed more of a reaction to the images then the liberals. In the 16 peer reviewed

citizens of the world remember the perpetrators of tragedies rather than the victims
themselves. In an article published by Newsweek written by Max Kutner named

A Research About Conflict And Conflicts
Abstract This is a research about conflict which should be considered and resolute
during a project. Although, six experts are from different background, there are
many sufficient methods to deal with different kind of issues during the working.
The great mode has used in the research is Thomas Kilmann s conflict mode
instrument. (Thomas, K. W., Kilmann, R. H. ,1974). There are five effective
approaches are discussed. Each approaches have its positive and negative effects.
Also, there are many problems that each expert should consider about themselves
which can devote their effort to help finish the project successfully. Achieving
mastery through a comprehensive study of all of these methods can finally bring a
huge success to the whole project. Conflicts Research Conflicts and Conflicts
Resolutions During Project It is hard and impossible to eliminate conflicts when
processing a team project. In the discussion problem 2, it tells us to solve a
problem of developing experts from different places to into a real and complete
team. People from different backgrounds and diverse places always have different
values, perceptions, expectations, needs and resources. Also, different people must
have various personalities. Therefore, a good manager should know and tolerant
everything happened in the project and keep seeking probable methods to deal with
every detailed conflicts. Perfect resolution of complex conflicts can help team

workers in Silicon Valley may appear in shorts and shirt amid available time. Be
possibly overdressed rather than underdressed for your imminent representative
meeting, a fundamental meeting, or your first day at work. When you pick among
moderate, sharp nice, and nice clothing, constantly go for one of the underlying two

commitments incorporate individual contact with customers or clients, more formal
apparel is consistently anticipated. When you know the environment better, you may

Multicultural Education Analysis
1a.) Multicultural education focuses on teaching students about different cultures and
races that have not received a lot of attention. Anti racist orientation is very similar to
the perspective of multicultural education, but anti racist orientation also considers
the concept of discrimination. An example of implementing the anti racist orientation
is illustrated in an interview with Lisa Delpit the author of Multiplication is for
White People Raising Expectations for Other People s Children. Delpit discusses why
there are so many African American students in special education. She goes on to say
that as a society we have labeled there to be something wrong with black students
because unfamiliarity with their behavior. The white teacher s lack of exposure to the
students culture leads them to automatically want to put them in a special education
classroom. Of course, having this type of mindset is harmful for students and a
resolution for that is to have an environment where teachers are culturally aware and
allow their students to express their own culture. In another interview with Christine
Sleeter, a professor at California State University, she discusses how white privledge
influences the opportunities white people have compared to other races. Some ways
of implementing multicultural education is teaching multiple perspectives of history.
Instead of assuming students are too young to understand certain things, teachers can
find a way to relate the event or explain
The Environmental Hazards Of Oily Sludge
AUTONUMLGL INTRODUCTION
The nature of threats to the environment posed by oily wastewater containing
hydrocarbons, has led to it being recognized as hazardous waste. Literature has shown
that hydrocarbons contribute to the greenhouse effect and global warming, deplete
the ozone, increase occurrences of cancer and respiratory disorders, and reduce the
photosynthetic ability of plants. In addition, such hazardous waste is primarily
generated at growing rates, by various industries which utilize petroleum products as
energy sources and raw materials. The effective remediation of oily sludge has
become a worldwide problem due to its hazardous nature and increasing production
quantity around the world. More specifically, in third world ... Show more content on

Thus, the issue remains a pressing one that does not fade away especially in
developing nations. Today, emerging economies such as Nigeria have a growing

In this research proposal, we begin with an introduction to put in context the
changing demands on the treatment of oily sludge residue a short description of the
status quo of the treatment of oily sludge residue followed by a discussion of the
research problem. Then we discuss the approach used to undertake the research,
followed by a work plan and schedule. 2. Overview of oily sludge treatment from
petroleum
2.1 What is Oily Sludge?
It is worthwhile to examine the various definitions of oily sludge to recognize the
multi layered issue its clean up entails. It is also noteworthy that many definitions of
systems engineering describe what it does and not what it is. This is particularly
prevalent in the earlier standards.
The definition that depicts what oily sludge is comprised is as follows: Oily sludge
is one of the most significant solid wastes generated in the petroleum industry. It is a
complex emulsion of various petroleum hydrocarbons (PHCs), water, heavy metals,
and solid particles.
Another definition of sludge A dense, slushy, liquid to semifluid product that

The baby boom generation had chosen rock as a medium for political and social
discourse (ВЁSinger SongwritersВЁ). Singers and songwriters mixed biblical,
political, morals and many other influential traits in their music. Before John Lennon
not many celebrities used their music to spread the word of what actually mattered,
at the time love and peace. Lennon decided that he could use his music to send a
message. The difference between the Beatles and other pop singers is that the
Beatles were more self aware, they were determined to take pop culture their own

wanted to do without care of what the world might think of them. Pop fans of the 60s
appreciated the groups honesty and trusted them, young people followed their lead.
Through this strategy John Lennon and the Beatles inspired teenagers to stand up for

Corrie Ten Boom in World War II
Introduction
This Flyer is based on WWII, and the Ten Boom family. Corrie Ten Boom is one of
the family members. Her family and her, helped many people in WWII, and risked
their lives to save other people. They helped other people because the Nazis were
looking for them. The Family were Christians, and would help anyone no mater what.
Early Life
Corrie Ten Boom was born on April 15, 1892, in Haarlem, Netherlands. In her family,
Corrie was the youngest child. She had one brother, Willem, and two sisters, Betsie
and Nollie. Her father was Casper Boom, and was a watchmaker and jeweler.
They lived in the Barteljorisstraat house in Haarlem ( Beje house ). Below was their
fathers watch shop and above they had their rooms. Their house was open to
anyone who needed a place to stay. They would hide jews and dutch underground
workers until they could find another safe house. In Corrie s bedroom she had a
secret hiding place, for up to six people. This was a place for people to go when
security came through the house. And their was an air system that was installed in
the hiding place as well.
Beje Movement
In the Beje movement, Corrie became the leader, who would look for other safe
houses in the country. She would search for Dutch families who were brave
enough to take in people. Most of her life was spent trying to protect, and keep
them hidden from the Nazis. Through her hard work she was able to save over 800
people in WWII.

Earth Pollution Essay
The earth is 4.543 billion years old, our ancestors are estimated to date back to six
million years, with modern human life dating back to 200,000 years ago (Reed). The
effects of humanity on earth can be displayed by the increase of pollution within our
ecosphere. As our population continues to increase, so does our carbon footprint upon
the earth. On a more localized scale, the Central Valley is a mecca of poor air quality
and elevating pollution levels. An assortment of environmental factors increases these
pollution levels. The Central Valley is a hub for the climate, natural, industrial,
mobile, and agricultural components that equate to this growing pollution problem.
Pollution, otherwise known as PM, or particulate matter, which is essentially any
substance that is not made up of water. PM is most commonly made of dust, ash,
smoke, fumes, vapors and mists, emitted from a source and absorbed into the
ozone. Particulate matter that is produced directly from a source, is called primary
PM. Particulate matter that is formed in the atmosphere, by gas, is called
secondary PM. There are two certified health based standards, classifying
particulate matter: PM10, for particles smaller than 10 microns, and PM2.5, for
particles smaller than 2.5. Common PM10 is made up of more course particles,
sources include: crushing or grinding operations, soil stirred up in our valley s vast
fields, and dirt roads. PM2.5 is composed of finer particles created by elements most

Who Is Molano Alienated In The Dispossessed
Colombia s guerrillas and paramilitaries have affected the country for decades; the
economy in general, the wealthy, the poor, but mostly, those who have been forced
to leave their homes because of a violent threat. In the novel The Dispossessed, by
Alfredo Molano, this situation is revealed in a very powerful way, unmasking the
stories of different characters, Molano himself included. Characters like Osiris,
Nubia, and Molano were constantly affected by withdrawal throughout the novel.
These violently dispossessed people s separation from their home is alienating
because they are forced to develop a new lifestyle without their families. Molano s

Osiris felt desperate without her family and explained, The truth is I hadn t had
any real peace of mind without her. You ve got to have the people you love around

Osiris s life was somewhat stable at the time taking into account everything she
had gone through not being with her daughter was killing her. She reiterated that
she wanted to see her family, and be with them, because the fact is,
notwithstanding that food, clothes, and a house can be replaced, she knew no one
would ever take over her daughter s place in her life. She was aware of this, and
even asked her daughter to come to Bogota, knowing that [they d] all worry a lot

only that way could she live through it. They can be hungry, hurt, or homeless, but if

Considerations For Effective Organizational Change
What Is Organizational Change?
Organizational change is the term used to describe the transformation process that a
company goes through in response to a strategic reorientation, restructure, change in
management, merger or acquisition or the development of new goals and objectives
for the company. The realignment of resources and the redeployment of capital can
bring many challenges during the transformation process and organizational change
management seeks to address this by adopting best practice standards to assist with
the integration of new company vision.
Organizational change is not just change for the sake of change itself. The major
precursor for organizational change is some form of exogenous force such as an
external ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If workers don t embrace or see the reason for change, resentment and resistance can
occur You have to emphasize the positive reason for the change and convey it to the
workers. This way, improve the chances of support.
For effective organizational change, you should create a transition management team.
You should also select a change leader from every department and conduct regular
meetings. This will comprise the transition team that can drive the change initiatives
and help facilitate and implement the initiatives throughout the various departments.
This also provides a support structure for the initiatives. Resources should be provided
to the transition management team.
Additional Considerations For Effective Organizational Structure:
Evaluation of the aesthetic appeal is essential for effective organizational change.
The plan should be clear defined goals and rationale and should be concise. Ensure
that the decision makers within the organization are onboard. Any change in the
policy affects the operation of the organization which needs broad approval at some
levels.
Ensure you adequately define the nature of the changes. This will help team members
and employees to interpret the core objectives.
You should measure whether the change has taken place or not. Often this process is
neglected but to ensure effective organizational change you need to have predefined
benchmarks to measure implementation progress.
Lady Macbeth Foil
In the play Macbeth there are many characters that you would say are a foil
character to the Macbeth, however, the one who is a major foil to Macbeth is his
beloved wife Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth is a woman that is more ambitious than
her husband, she is a person who is not scared of murder, and pushes Macbethto
commit the murder of King Duncanthus making her a foil character to Macbeth.
Macbeth is a physically powerful man with a kind heart because of this Lady
Macbeth worried that it would get in the way of their plan to kill the king. This
worry caused her to call upon the power of darkness, saying that she would commit
the murder herself if she did not have the womanly feelings she would receive
afterward such as guilt and remorse.

Heart About Neutering Pets
In Why I ve Had a Change of Heart About Neutering Pets, author Dr. Karen Becker
explains to the reader about why sterilization is the best choice for dogs as oppose
to spaying or neutering dogs due to the increase of health risks. Dr. Becker believes
all organs are vital and none should be removed such as the ovaries and testes. By
removing these organs the animals ability to produce sex hormones is being halted.
In the article she states, scientific evidence is mounting that gonad removal can
deliver serious consequences to a dogs future health. Among those consequences:
shortened lifespan, Cushing s disease, cardiac tumors, bone cancer, abnormal bone
growth and development, CCL ruptures, and hip dysplasia (Becker, para 7).
Throughout her years of private practice as a Veterinarian, Dr. Becker had come to a
conclusion that sterilization with proper techniques... Show more content on

Furthermore, she explained the process and methods used for spaying and
neutering gets rid of vital organs the testes and ovaries. Becker said, a complete
removal of the gonads...can force the adrenal glands to produce sex hormones (
Becker para 33). This means the adrenal glands over work themselves by doing
extra work, and it s difficult to keep up with the body s demand for sex hormones.
Just like any other organ, every organ is important for the body to function well.
Removing these valuable organs would be removing the bodies ability to produce
significant sex hormone secreting tissues. She uses variety of research studies on
disorders and diseases linked to spaying and neutering to support the fact that spaying
and neutering worsens the health of a dog, whereas sterilization would be the
solution to the
Literary Analysis Of Eve Ensler s The Good Body
The Good Body, a concise interpretation on what it means to feel uncomfortable
with your own physical appearance which aims to address a question of what she
wants to be when she grows up. I want to be good. , she says. Eve Ensler conveys a
thought that the strive of women in perfection of personal appearance can be found
anywhere. This is an unrealistic want that can severely affect one s life. Moreover,
this focuses on the things with what Eve learned from the womenaround the world
making it to be considered as a feminist approach.
Eve started the literary piece with a powerful statement that when she was still a little
girl, she wanted to be good when she grows up. However, she describes that as girls
grow up, being good is impossible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is for the reason that the uniqueness of this story makes readers like me to feel
personal and conscious of my body because in reality, most women face body image
concerns, but in different ways. Furthermore, Eve included brief stories of her
personal struggles as a woman and the things which her hatred towards her stomach
has done to her. I can say that Eve was successful enough in connecting to the
readers for she made use of unique stories which made the good body real.
Although the majority of the literary piece focused on women who believe that
they need to change their body in order to be good , it was still good for I would
not have understood the full story of it because it would have been one sided. The
fact that the introduction of women who love their bodies is stated, while Eve
Ensler doesn t, it induced me to be encouraged and motivated in reading this
literary piece. At the latter part of this literary piece, it is evident that the idea of
having a good body is greatly affected by the influence of mass media to the one s
body image. Thus, it can be considered that the body image issues and
generalizations appear everywhere as proved by the story of Eve Ensler. I
recommend this book to the people who are so conscious of their own body type
for I know that upon reading this, they will be able to learn a lot. This is for the
reason that there is wise use of words that helped the readers
Hero in One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest by Ken Kesey
Hero in One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest by Ken Kesey
Randle Patrick McMurphy, the main character in One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest
, is the perfect example of a hero. He is committed to a mental institution after faking
insanity to get out of a work camp. From the beginning of his presence on the ward,
things start to change. He brings in laughter, gambling, profanity and he begins to get
the other patients to open up. All of this, however, clashes with the head nurse, Nurse
Ratched, who is trying to press conformity and obeying authority. It is then a battle
between McMurphy and the nurse, McMurphy trying to set the patients free and the
nurse trying to make them normal .
The most obvious hero type of McMurphy is an ... Show more content on

Another one of McMurphy s hero types is an anti hero, which is a hero who lacks
some attributes of being a classic hero. A classic hero is a hero with ethics and
morals and who respects everyone and everything. This is not who McMurphy is. He
swears all the time, he gambles and cheats the other patients out of their money, not
to mention the fact that he was accused of statutory rape and put in a prison camp.
Even thought he is a criminal, he is always and honest and caring towards the other
patients. He is true to himself and everyone else and he tries to get the other patients
to be like that, too. He remains an individual despite the combines consistent attempts
to repress him.
McMurphy can also be considered a tragic hero. Although he could almost always
take control of a situation and never let the combine get the best of him, he could not
always control his temper. It was the one think that could get him in trouble because
Nurse Ratched could not punish him with electric shock therapy unless he had an
outburst. The best thing that McMurphy could have had in the hospital was patience
and a calm temper because the only weapon Nurse Ratched had was to try to frustrate
him. Since she has ultimate power on the ward, she could do anything she wants and
make any rules. For instance, when the patients wanted to watch the world series and
they clearly had a majority, she didn t let them because she wanted them to know that
she has authority

In this instance we have a man, Jefferson, who needs help to be able to regain his dignity and die like a man. Even though Grant, an atheist, would not be helping him do so through religion, he will give him understanding of the importance of his case to the community. Religion has many faces in the novel as one would expect, but one face that rings true is the notion that through religion one can gain dignity. As you can imagine, living in the South in times such as these was certainly a detriment to African Americans such as the characters in the novel, but why is it then that African Americans put, more often than not, so much clout to the community and its church? For simple reasons of course, because inside the church is where one can gain back the dignity that is lost nearly everyday through racism. Church is the only place where anyone can be a leader. Church is the place to express yourself freely and come together to share a ceremony where racism is not present. Most importantly church is the place to recognize and evaluate the lives of so many people that are continually being marginalized. This can be seen as another strong factor on how religion is central to the community. For example, people that become leaders inside the church are looked at with more respect, such as Miss Emma, Tante Lou, and Reverend Ambrose; three very active

In the article titled, Effects of toning shoes on lower extremity gait biomechanics by Brian Horsak and Arnold Baca, it discusses whether the athlete needs specific tone shoes to promote muscle activity in the lower limbs. This article conducts research to test whether athletic shoes help aid the athlete. One of the shoes that is tested is the easy tone shoes by Reebok. The study s primary focus is whether the tone shoe can increase activity in gait patterns. Another shoe that is advertised to tone the muscles and increase activity, posture, stability, and health is the fitflop. The fitflop is dense so the instability and the firmness of the shoe helps to tone the muscles in the leg by increasing activity due to the unstable environment. Fashion is used to express how someone feels without using words, and it describes the custom or dress of a person. Many people think fashion is not important, but they use it every day. It embraces a person s inner beauty and the way people do things. Fashionis not just clothes or hair styles, it s about how someone feels, how someone acts, and somebody s perspective on fashion. First and foremost, how someone feels is important when it comes to fashion because people want to feel happy and comfortable in their clothes. Primarily, the song was written by Paul McCartney and was dedicated to Lennon McCartney (Miles, 1997). George Martin did a great job at making a string quartet arrangement. The striking lyrics about loneliness along with the arrangement transformed the kind of songs from what were mostly pop oriented to the kind that were studio based. There is no second opinion about the fact that this song made a dent in the conventions of the popular music; both in terms of lyrics and music (Campbell and Bondy, 2008). Pertaining to the fates and concerns of the elderly that are mostly neglected, Richie Unterberger has said that this is one of the main reasons why Beatles have been able to catch the attention of people who are beyond the traditional rock audience (Unterberger, 2013). Historical Significance This song also has a historical connotation since there is a gravestone by the name of Eleanor Rigby in St. Peter s Churchyard that is situated in Woolton, United Kingdom. It should be noted that Woolton is a suburb of the city of Liverpool and this is where Lennon and McCartney first met during a fete at St. Peter s Church. However, if blood glucose levels rise too steeply, there can be an overproduction of insulin; which lowers blood glucose levels excessively below the set point. Because alcohol is toxic and there is no way to store alcohol in the body, it must be metabolised as quickly as possible. This means that the liver must prioritise metabolising the alcohol over any other tasks; including regulating blood glucose levels. Although the liver usually releases glucose into the bloodstream (from its stored glycogen) when blood glucose levels fall below the set point; while there is alcohol in the blood it has less capacity to do this. This results in hypoglycemia. Long term consumption of large amounts of alcohol damages the liver and can lead to liver disease, which interferes with many aspects of metabolism including metabolism of glucose. • 26. Material Handling Of Construction And Civil Works Material handling in construction and civil works is one of the basic necessities. The material supply to civil and construction is provided through trucks, dumper etc. The material should be properly loaded, managed, stacked, transported and unloaded. The dumper carries the material which is loaded from the site, where the material is initially stored. It is then loaded to the dumperand transported to the required site and then unloaded. The major issues raises over here, the incompatibility of the site with the fully loaded dumper causes a lot of settling time for the trolley to get the material properly arranged and transportation time to reach its location. The dumper unloads the material in only one direction. But this incapability can be fulfilled by a new method mechanism as the unidirectional dumper. This mechanism is an approach to reduce the idle time to settle the dumper. The material is unloaded in any direction and hence can be boldly stated as Unidirectional Dumper. The major outcomes of unidirectional dumper has overcome space requirement which often result in road blocking. Hence, we have inversion in the existing mechanism providing the unloading in 1800 rotations. This mechanism prevents blocking of road, saves time and enhances productivity at lowest cost. Americans have many popular sayings and figures of speech that, if taken literally, make no logical sense. If you mention the phrases white elephant, spill the beans, or to pull someone s leg, they make no sense unless you are familiar with the culture. The word idiom is used to describe these forms of speech. Idioms are considered to be part of a nation s culture, and idioms can make learning a foreign language quite challenging. The origin of this popular saying will make you smile. In the early 1700 s an English dramatist named John Dennis created an invention that would simulate the sound of thunder in one of his theatrical productions. His play failed dismally. However, later he found that his invention was used to create the sound of thunder in another performance. Dennis was quoted as saying, They will not let my play run, but they steal my thunder! The phrase was overheard, passed along and became a popular saying used in the English language. To Spill the Beans When someone spills the beans, they reveal a secret unintentionally. This popular saying has its origin back in the days of ancient Greece. When people were voted into many organizations, the membership voted secretly using colored beans as counters. If one voted for the inclusion of the applicant, one would discretely drop a white bean into an opaque container. If one voted against the applicant, one would secretly drop a black or brown bean in the container. Only the officials knew the results of the voting. Occasionally, an awkward person might accidentally knock over the container, spilling the beans and revealing the results of the vote before the appointed time. This is how the phrase spilling the beans has come to describe someone telling a secret. To Bite the Bullet If you have to withstand

He was basically brought up in an environment which always involved government and military affairs, which was the result of his father being a very prominent man. His father was the first to reach the office of senator, and also commanded the Tenth Legion of Fretensis during the Jewish War of 67 68 AD. He became consul around the year 70 AD, and in the year 75 AD, became governor of Syria, and the provinces of Baetica and Asia. While his father acted as governor of Syria, Trajanserved as military tribune. A bronze sculpture at Harvard University showcases his physique in ceremonial armor standing as if addressing his troops. Most artifacts found showcase his military achievements, and this was no exception. He was dignified and humble toward the Roman people, and they gave their thanks through artifacts which still exist today. He was an emperor who enjoyed the brutal aspect of war, which was because he was good at it. This can be seen through all of his military achievements as a general. He was naturally very popular with the troops, especially because he was so willing to share the hardships alongside his soldiers rather than receiving any type of special treatment. His path toward emperor was a long and hard one. He had a long and fulfilling career in government before hand. First, he gained the office of praetorship in 85 AD.

The Relationship between Sensitivity to Reward and Punishment and Eating Behaviours Courtney Andrews Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University Abstract A study involving 252 participants undergoing the course Biological Psychology was carried out in order to examine the correlation between sensitivity to reward (SP), Body Mass Index (BMI), weight and more frequent consumption of unhealthy fast foods, (e.g., high in fat and sugar). The core results showed the participants found that sensitivity to reward was strongly negatively correlated with BMI and weight. However, both these correlations are not statistically significant at the 95% confidence level. Alongside this finding, sensitivity to reward was positively correlated with unhealthy fast foods, which leads to more frequent consumption of fatty and sugar rich foods. These values were also not statistically significant. This research needs to consider gender balance inequality, environmental cues such the accessibility of fast food (e.g., the amount and distance these restaurants are from their home residence) and one time collection of data used. Anti racist orientation is very similar to the perspective of multicultural education, but anti racist orientation also considers the concept of discrimination. An example of implementing the anti racist orientation is illustrated in an interview with Lisa Delpit the author of Multiplication is for White People Raising Expectations for Other People s Children. Delpit discusses why there are so many African American students in special education. She goes on to say that as a society we have labeled there to be something wrong with black students because unfamiliarity with their behavior. The white teacher s lack of exposure to the students culture leads them to automatically want to put them in a special education classroom. Of course, having this type of mindset is harmful for students and a resolution for that is to have an environment where teachers are culturally aware and allow their students to express their own culture. Just like any other organ, every organ is important for the body to function well. Literary Analysis Of Eve Ensler s The Good Body The Good Body, a concise interpretation on what it means to feel uncomfortable with your own physical appearance which aims to address a question of what she wants to be when she grows up. I want to be good. , she says. Eve Ensler conveys a thought that the strive of women in perfection of personal appearance can be found anywhere. This is an unrealistic want that can severely affect one s life. Moreover, this focuses on the things with what Eve learned from the womenaround the world making it to be considered as a feminist approach. Eve started the literary piece with a powerful statement that when she was still a little girl, she wanted to be good when she grows up. However, she describes that as girls grow up, being good is impossible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is for the reason that the uniqueness of this story makes readers like me to feel personal and conscious of my body because in reality, most women face body image concerns, but in different ways. Furthermore, Eve included brief stories of her personal struggles as a woman and the things which her hatred towards her stomach has done to her. I can say that Eve was successful enough in connecting to the readers for she made use of unique stories which made the good body real. Although the majority of the literary piece focused on women who believe that they need to change their body in order to be good , it was still good for I would not have understood the full story of it because it would have been one sided. The fact that the introduction of women who love their bodies is stated, while Eve Ensler doesn t, it induced me to be encouraged and motivated in reading this literary piece. At the latter part of this literary piece, it is evident that the idea of having a good body is greatly affected by the influence of mass media to the one s body image. Thus, it can be considered that the body image issues and generalizations appear everywhere as proved by the story of Eve Ensler. I recommend this book to the people who are so conscious of their own body type for I know that upon reading this, they will be able to learn a lot. This is for the reason that there is wise use of words that helped the readers

Hero in One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest by Ken Kesey Hero in One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest by Ken Kesey Randle Patrick McMurphy, the main character in One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest , is the perfect example of a hero. He is committed to a mental institution after faking insanity to get out of a work camp. From the beginning of his presence on the ward, things start to change. He brings in laughter, gambling, profanity and he begins to get the other patients to open up. All of this, however, clashes with the head nurse, Nurse Ratched, who is trying to press conformity and obeying authority. It is then a battle between McMurphy and the nurse, McMurphy trying to set the patients free and the nurse trying to make them normal . The most obvious hero type of McMurphy is an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another one of McMurphy s hero types is an anti hero, which is a hero who lacks some attributes of being a classic hero. A classic hero is a hero with ethics and morals and who respects everyone and everything. This is not who McMurphy is. He swears all the time, he gambles and cheats the other patients out of their money, not to mention the fact that he was accused of statutory rape and put in a prison camp. Even thought he is a criminal, he is always and honest and caring towards the other patients. He is true to himself and everyone else and he tries to get the other patients to be like that, too. He remains an individual despite the combines consistent attempts to repress him. McMurphy can also be considered a tragic hero. Although he could almost always take control of a situation and never let the combine get the best of him, he could not always control his temper. It was the one think that could get him in trouble because Nurse Ratched could not punish him with electric shock therapy unless he had an outburst. The best thing that McMurphy could have had in the hospital was patience and a calm temper because the only weapon Nurse Ratched had was to try to frustrate him. Since she has ultimate power on the ward, she could do anything she wants and make any rules. For instance, when the patients wanted to watch the world series and they clearly had a majority, she didn t let them because she wanted them to know that she has authority
