Collective Adaptive Systems as Coordination Media: The Case of Tuples in Spac...
Coordination is a fundamental problem in the
engineering of collective adaptive systems (CAS). Prominent
approaches in this context promote adaptivity and collective
behaviour by founding coordination on local, decentralised in-
teraction. This is usually enabled through abstractions such as
collective interfaces, neighbour-based interaction, and attribute-
based communication. Application designers, then, use such
coordination mechanisms to enact collective adaptive behaviour
in order to solve specific problems or provide specific services
while coping with dynamic environments. In this paper, we
consider the other way round: we argue that a CAS model can
be used to provide support for high-level coordination models,
simplifying their implementation and transferring to them the
self-* properties it emergently fosters. As a motivating example,
we consider the idea of supporting tuple-based coordination by
Linda primitives such that tuples and operations have a position
and extension in space and time. Then, we adopt an aggregate
perspective, by which space-time is logically represented by a
mobile ad-hoc network of devices, and show that coordination
primitives can be implemented as true collective adaptive pro-
cesses. We describe this model and a prototype implementation
in the ScaFi aggregate programming framework, which is rooted
in the so-called computational field paradigm.
Congestion Control: A Dynamic Approach
This document proposes a new dynamic approach to congestion control in TCP that determines congestion based on round trip time rather than packet loss. It suggests using the estimated round trip time as a threshold and increasing the congestion window linearly as long as the sample round trip time is below the threshold. If the sample round trip time exceeds the estimated time, the congestion window would be halved, and if it exceeds the estimated time plus four times the deviation round trip time, the window would be reset to one MSS. This approach aims to avoid the bottleneck problem of TCP by not including a slow start phase and responding earlier to potential congestion based on network delays.

This document proposes a new approach to compressed image steganography using wavelet transform. The method embeds a compressed payload image within a cover image using discrete wavelet transform (DWT) for image compression and discrete Fourier transform (DFT) to select pixel locations in the cover image. Five test cases of the approach are described and evaluated. In the first case, DWT is applied to the payload image to get 32x32 approximate coefficients, DFT is applied to the cover image to select pixel locations below a threshold, and the coefficients replace the selected pixel values to create the stego-image. The other cases vary the DWT level, threshold value, and image sizes. Results show the stego-image quality
ROBUST IMAGE WATERMARKING METHOD USING WAVELET TRANSFORM
In this paper a robust watermarking method operating in the wavelet domain for grayscale digital imagesis developed. The method first acomputes the differences between the watermark and the HH1 sub-band ofthe cover image values and then embed these differences in one of the frequency sub-bands. The resultsshow that embedding the watermark in the LH1 sub-band gave the best results. The results were evaluatedusing the RMSE and the PSNR of both the original and the watermarked image. Although the watermarkwas recovered perfectly in the ideal case, the addition of Gaussian noise, or compression of the imageusing JPEG with quality less than 100 destroys the embedded watermark. Different experiments werecarried out to test the performance of the proposed method and good results were obtained.

Digital media, applications, copyright defense, and multimedia security have become a vital aspect of our daily life. Digital watermarking is a technology used for the copyright security of digital applications. In this work we have dealt with a process able to mark digital pictures with a visible and semi invisible hided information, called watermark. This process may be the basis of a complete copyright protection system. Watermarking is implemented here using Haar Wavelet Coefficients and Principal Component analysis. Experimental results show high imperceptibility where there is no noticeable difference between the watermarked video frames and the original frame in case of invisible watermarking, vice-versa for semi visible implementation. The watermark is embedded in lower frequency band of Wavelet Transformed cover image. The combination of the two transform algorithm has been found to improve performance of the watermark algorithm. The robustness of the watermarking scheme is analyzed by means of two distinct performance measures viz. Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Normalized Coefficient (NC).
Real-Time Pedestrian Detection Using Apache Storm in a Distributed Environment
This document discusses real-time pedestrian detection using Apache Storm in a distributed environment. It proposes a methodology that distributes video frames across multiple nodes ("bolts") for parallel processing. Each bolt detects pedestrians in a different region of the frame. In general, a distributed processing is not suitable for dealing with image data stream due to the
network load problem caused by communications of frames. For this reason, image data stream
processing has operated in just one node commonly. However, we need to process image data
stream in a distributed environment in a big data era due to increase in quantity and quality of
multimedia data. In this paper, we shall present a real-time pedestrian detection methodology in
a distributed environment which processes image data stream in real-time on Apache Storm
framework. It achieves sharp speed up by distributing frames onto several nodes called bolts,
each of which processes different regions of image frames. Moreover, it can reduce the
overhead caused by synchronization by computation bolts which returns only the processing
results to the merging bolts.

Then DCT and SVD are applied on all high bands LH, HL and HH. Watermark is then embedded by modifying the singular values of these bands. Extraction of watermark is performed by the inversion of watermark embedding process. For choosing of these three bands it gives facility of mid-band and pure high band that ensures good imperceptibility and more robustness against different kinds of attacks.

This document proposes a new approach to compressed image steganography using wavelet transform. The method embeds a compressed payload image within a cover image using discrete wavelet transform (DWT) for image compression and discrete Fourier transform (DFT) to select pixel locations in the cover image. Five test cases of the approach are described and evaluated. In the first case, DWT is applied to the payload image to get 32x32 approximate coefficients, DFT is applied to the cover image to select pixel locations below a threshold, and the coefficients replace the selected pixel values to create the stego-image. The other cases vary the DWT level, threshold value, and image sizes. Results show the stego-image quality
ROBUST IMAGE WATERMARKING METHOD USING WAVELET TRANSFORM
In this paper a robust watermarking method operating in the wavelet domain for grayscale digital imagesis developed. The method first acomputes the differences between the watermark and the HH1 sub-band ofthe cover image values and then embed these differences in one of the frequency sub-bands. The resultsshow that embedding the watermark in the LH1 sub-band gave the best results. The results were evaluatedusing the RMSE and the PSNR of both the original and the watermarked image. Although the watermarkwas recovered perfectly in the ideal case, the addition of Gaussian noise, or compression of the imageusing JPEG with quality less than 100 destroys the embedded watermark. Different experiments werecarried out to test the performance of the proposed method and good results were obtained.

Digital media, applications, copyright defense, and multimedia security have become a vital aspect of our daily life. Digital watermarking is a technology used for the copyright security of digital applications. In this work we have dealt with a process able to mark digital pictures with a visible and semi invisible hided information, called watermark. This process may be the basis of a complete copyright protection system. Watermarking is implemented here using Haar Wavelet Coefficients and Principal Component analysis. Experimental results show high imperceptibility where there is no noticeable difference between the watermarked video frames and the original frame in case of invisible watermarking, vice-versa for semi visible implementation. The watermark is embedded in lower frequency band of Wavelet Transformed cover image. The combination of the two transform algorithm has been found to improve performance of the watermark algorithm. The robustness of the watermarking scheme is analyzed by means of two distinct performance measures viz. Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Normalized Coefficient (NC).
Real-Time Pedestrian Detection Using Apache Storm in a Distributed Environment
This document discusses real-time pedestrian detection using Apache Storm in a distributed environment. It proposes a methodology that distributes video frames across multiple nodes ("bolts") for parallel processing. Each bolt detects pedestrians in a different region of the frame. Only detection results, not full frames, are transmitted to reduce overhead. The methodology is implemented using Apache Storm and evaluated on a test system with improved processing speed. Pedestrian detection has applications in safety and analytics.

In general, a distributed processing is not suitable for dealing with image data stream due to the
network load problem caused by communications of frames. For this reason, image data stream
processing has operated in just one node commonly. However, we need to process image data
stream in a distributed environment in a big data era due to increase in quantity and quality of
multimedia data. In this paper, we shall present a real-time pedestrian detection methodology in
a distributed environment which processes image data stream in real-time on Apache Storm
framework. It achieves sharp speed up by distributing frames onto several nodes called bolts,
each of which processes different regions of image frames. Moreover, it can reduce the
overhead caused by synchronization by computation bolts which returns only the processing
results to the merging bolts.

So it becomes very essential to protect multimedia information from piracy and also it is challenging. Hence, facing all these kinds of problems development of the techniques is very important. Digital watermarking considered as a solution to prevent the multimedia data. In this paper, an idea of watermarking is proposed and implemented. In proposed watermarking method, the original image is rearranged using zigzag sequence and DWT is applied on rearranged image. Then DCT and SVD are applied on all high bands LH, HL and HH. Watermark is then embedded by modifying the singular values of these bands. Extraction of watermark is performed by the inversion of watermark embedding process. For choosing of these three bands it gives facility of mid-band and pure high band that ensures good imperceptibility and more robustness against different kinds of attacks.

above problems, this paper studies the digital watermarking method based on discrete wavelet transform
and discrete cosine transform. Then this paper proposes a color image blind digital watermarking
algorithm based on QR code. First, convert the color image from RGB space to YCbCr space, extract the Y
component and perform the second-level discrete wavelet transform. secondly, block the LL2 subband and
perform the discrete cosine transform. finally, use the embedding method to convert the watermark
information after the Arnold transform embedded in the block. The experimental results show that the
PSNR of the color image embedded with the QR code is 56.7159 without being attacked. After being
attacked, its PSNR and NC values are respectively 30dB and 0.95 or more, which proves that the algorithm
has good robustness and can achieve watermarking blind extraction.

This document describes a steganographic method based on integer wavelet transform and genetic algorithm. The proposed method embeds secret messages into the integer wavelet transform coefficients of images. A genetic algorithm is used to generate an optimal mapping function for embedding bits into coefficients in 8x8 blocks. After embedding, an optimal pixel adjustment process is applied to minimize differences between the original and embedded images. Experimental results on Lena and Baboon images show the proposed method achieves higher data hiding capacity and PSNR values than previous related work.

This document presents a hybrid steganography technique that embeds a secret image into a cover image using discrete wavelet transform (DWT), discrete cosine transform (DCT), and singular value decomposition (SVD). The cover image is decomposed using DWT and its high frequency components are replaced with the secret image, which is first decomposed using SVD and DCT. Experimental results show correlation coefficients above 0.999 when extracting the secret image, indicating high quality extraction. The technique provides improved steganography by embedding the secret image in the visually insensitive high frequency components of the cover image.

High Speed and Area Efficient 2D DWT Processor Based Image Compression
The document describes a proposed high speed and area efficient 2D discrete wavelet transform (DWT) processor design for image compression applications implemented on FPGAs. The design uses a pipelined partially serial architecture to enhance speed while optimally utilizing FPGA resources. Simulation results show the design operating at 231MHz on a Spartan 3 FPGA, a 15% improvement over alternative designs. Resource utilization and speed are improved compared to previous implementations through the optimized DWT processor architecture and FPGA platform choice.

- 1. DISCRETE WAVELET TRANSFORM AND DATA EXPANSION REDUCTION IN HOMOMORPHIC ENCRYPTED DOMAIN ABSTRACT: In this paper, we propose a method for implementing discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and multiresolution analysis (MRA) in homomorphic encrypted domain. We first suggest a framework for performing DWT and inverse DWT (IDWT) in the encrypted domain, then conduct an analysis of data expansion and quantization errors under the framework. To solve the problem of data expansion, which may be very important in practical applications, we present a method for reducing data expansion in the case that both DWT and IDWT are performed. We proposed method, multilevel DWT/IDWT can be performed with less data expansion in homomorphic encrypted domain. We propose a new signal processing procedure, where the multiplicative inverse method is employed as the last step to limit the data expansion. Taking a 2-D Haar wavelet transform as an example, we conduct a few experiments to demonstrate the advantages of our method in secure image processing. We also provide computational complexity analyses and comparisons. To the best of our knowledge, there has been no report on the implementation of DWT and MRA in the encrypted domain.
