2. How Discotheque Born…??
A discotheque can be described as a mutual
combination of two words, ‘a musical record’
and ‘a library’. In other words, it is a music
library, with a history that can be drawn some
60 years back in France. A discotheque is
basically an entertainment venue or club
where Disc Jockeys play recorded music
through a PA system, rather than an on-stage
band. Discotheques were not the first places
where disco was played. They were bars and
nightclubs where live American band artists
played jazz for entertainment. Adolf Hitler can
be considered responsible for the origin of
disco, since American-style jazz was
prohibited in war torn France during 1930s
and 1940s. When the Germans occupied
France, the jazz clubs went underground.
And discotheques were born.

A Discotheque has recorded music for dancing and a Night club has
live entertainment.
A Discotheque is for limited & Night club is for whole night.
A Discotheque is a place where u can not have a longue & Night
Club has a longue.
A Discotheque is not a necessary place where food & drink served
& in Night Club you can only get limited food items & drinks which
can be hard or soft or cocktails or mock tails.
A Discotheque is a place where you can only dance but Night Club
is a place where you can have several kind of entertainment.
Every Night Club with dance can be categorized as Discotheque
where Discotheque is not necessarily Night Club.

8. As it’s name suggest, In Discotheque we do
dance . The music is driven by a qualified &
experienced DJ(Disc Jockey) who creates or
responds to the moods of guests. We can have
Soft or Hard drinks in Discotheque like
Cocktail, Mock tail. In Discotheque we can have
light food & snacks also.

9. Now A Days…. Discotheques In India
Our India had so conservative approach due to
there was no nightlife!!!But now India is more
attracting to western culture in clothes, technology
and infrastructure etc. So that We can say
discotheque & nightclub is growing in big cities. Due
to movies, celebrities & page 3 parties Discotheques
are now so popular among youngsters. Generally in
metro & big cities people like to go there in weekend
and holidays.

10. Discotheques in Hotels permit only formal
casual clothing, while independent one allow
casuals. Security is the main concern for a
discotheque where both girls and boys mix
and drink. Just as the bartender and the DJ are
the essential employees of a Discotheque, So
is the bouncer who guards the entry charge to
ensure that the right crowds to enter. Other
may only permit couples to ensure the right
balance of men and Women. Some
Discotheques are strictly on membership
basis.

Mumbai, Hyderabad, Calcutta, Chennai and last but not
