The French & Indian War was a conflict between 1754-1763 over territorial expansion in the New World. France and Britain were fighting over land near the Ohio River valley. As a result of the Treaty of Paris, France lost its claims to Canada while Britain gained Florida, Upper Canada, and other French territories, strengthening the British American colonies.
