Digital Moguls was created in 2011 by Kristin Bolton-Keys to provide innovative and inspirational digital content. It serves as a hub for people seeking to share knowledge about digital trends. This document summarizes discussions from the 2013 South by Southwest conference, including talks on augmented reality, data storytelling, legal issues for startups, and crowdfunding. Key advice included the importance of planning, embracing new technologies, and telling great stories with data rather than just selling products.
This presentation was delivered during an NCVO webinar on digital transformation, presented by Julie Dodd. The webinar took place on 20 August 2015.

Insights into "tribal" business (for business owners) - Oct 2013Lisette Sutherland
Modern businesses are experimenting with new organizational structures where the focus is on communities instead of hierarchies… top-down governance is being replaced with cultures where employees are encouraged to self organize and become more adaptable.
Why is this being called a “tribal business” and what does it mean to grow a business in this way? How does working together like this motivate people to contribute more?

2021 was a breakthrough year for NFTs, with Opensea recording 1 million of active users and passing $5 billion in Jan. Marketers cannot ignore these trends even if the exact opportunities for many brands are unclear. It's time to test, learn and build - organisations don't have the luxury to risk missing this revolution, which has been compared to the advent of the Internet or social media. In the workshop we'll get everyone up to speed quickly to understand NFTs, without unnecessary jargon and we'll focus on concrete NFT examples from existing brands. We'll also showcase for the first time our own NFT brand activation framework, which includes:
1. Purpose - how does the NFT collection fit the brand
2. Economics - what are the commercial parameters to make the collection pass financial sense check
3. Credibility - how to make sure the NFT collection is trusted
4. Storefront - taking inspiration from e-commerce and crowdfunding to create a flawless process
5. Assets - how to construct actual NFTs and their properties
6. Legal - tax, accounting, IP considerations
7. Story - how to stand out in the noisy space
8. Community - what matters and how to build
9. Hype and FOMO - how to use them to your advantage
6 best practices in stakeholder engagementWayne Dunn
I recently did a piece on 5 mistakes companies make in stakeholder engagement and many of you asked me to give a list of best practices. Here are six.
1. Think Value and Interests – and do it transparently
2. It’s OK to disagree – but, disagree without being disagreeable. And stay curious
3. Do compliance but think and act strategic – check the boxes yes, but that is just the foundation
4. Share the credit, multiply the resources. Find partners!
5. Communicate so you are heard and understood.
6. Define stakeholders broadly and strategically – go beyond compliance

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. Role of Counsel
Active member of the team
Engaged from the beginning/product planning phase
In-house vs Outside Counsel
As user-sourced content increases, tech companies will increasingly
be faced with a range of IP concerns and potential disputes.
For privacy, companies need to balance their customer’s experience
while adhering to the laws. The need for clear, transparent policies
are essential.
As startups, you are setting precedent not only for your
company, but potentially for the industry.
Crowdfunding is a potential game changer. However, it should only
be one part of the larger funding strategy for a business.
