This presentation was originally titled "Time Waits
for No Man: a Graphic Essay on a Lyrical theme. It was an attempt to: examine my lyrical work to see a) where and how the motif of Time in particular recurs, and b) if and how these lyrics echo or reflect the ideas about Time in Einstein's theories. It was prepared as part of Professor Larry Lagerstrom online course on 'Understanding Einstein,' hosted by Coursera.org in 2013.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

14. TEACHING IS AN IDEAL PROFESSION. MOST
PEOPLE WOULD DEFINE A GOOD TEACHER AS
SOMEONE WHO MAKES THEIR STUDENTS EXCEL
ACADEMICALLY AND DO WELL ON THEIR TESTS.
BUT I BELIVE THAT A GOOD TEACHER DOESN’T
HAVE ONE DIMENSION BUT TWO. THEY ARE NOT
ONLY MAKE YOU EXCEL BUT THEY CARE ABOUT
THE STUDENTS INSECURITIES AND PROBLEMS
THEY FACED. A GOOD TEACHER WORKS WITH
ALL STUDENTS. TEACHER IS ONE WHO SHAPES
UP THE WHOLE LIFE OF THE STUDENTS
THROUGH HER KNOWLEDGE, PATIENCE, LOVE
AND CARE. SO THEIR COMMITTED WORK
CANNOT BE COMPARED TO ANYTHING. A
TEACHER’S WAY OF TEACHING MAKES THEM
DIFFERENT IN THE MIND OF STUDENTS. SO THEY
REMEMBER THEIR TEACHERS LIFE LONG. THAT IS
THE PRECIOUS GIFT GIVEN BY A STUDENT TO
THEIR TEACHER. SO BE PROUD TO BE A
TEACHER. BECAUSE A TEACHER IS THE IDOLIZED
GIFT FROM GOD TO US.

17. GARDEN OF LIFE
Life is like a joyful memory of heart
Unexpected faces are flashed in our mind
But not always keep silence in our life
We could forward and take it easy
The garden was filled with flowers
Our mind is filled with memories of life
Recall the joyful memories
And reject the bitterness of life
The tears of eyes always told silence
The pleasant eyes told move and achieve goals
We must make a garden in our mind
It serve always pleasant in our life.

19. RAIN
Tears are dropping from the sky
To make the earth happy,
Which carries much and-
Muchmore sorrows,
In their life rainy.
While the rain is-
Come the earth as -
Dark the sky to cry.
Crying sky is laughing -
With a thunder lightning ray.
Sometimes rain is calm and quiet,
But sometimes it is cruel.
Sometimes it makes life on earth,
But sometimes it kills earth…
Still,
Rain is dropping from the sky,
To make the earth happy.

22. FLOWERS OF MEMORIES
In the lonely hours In the moments of solitude.
Of a rainy day………. But sometimes my heart would yearn to go
back
My heart wandered……. Go back to the wonderful days
Wandered across the memories And feel them with all it’s glory
Of past………… Today, the divine touch
Memories, delightful and sorrowful. Of the heavenly fall
Ask me, what are memories….. Made the buds of my memories,
They are fragments Bloom into flowers.
Of love, I would say….. And the flowers of memories, I know
The love which was somehow lost Will always remain fresh
In a moment, unfortunate. With all its fragrance
Bond which still exists Which would never fade
And bond which has been broken In the passage of time……
Far ago…… Who could live…………..
Ask me , what is life…. Without feeling the warm hold
It is a game; where Of “Memories……….”
We lose and win,
Things unexpected….
Life is unpredictable ! I would say…. NAVAMI D S
23. THE PART OF NATURE
What is our nature?
Our nature is everything,
That everything is really a fantasy.
What is the creation of God?
The creation of God is precise.
The precise creation of god is nature.
What is the peristyle of nature
The peristyle of nature is unbelievable.
The fragrance of flowers,
The persona of nature is peristyle
What is the pied of nature is secret.
What is my piety towards nature?
My piety towards nature is my poem.
My quarrish God is nature,
What is the ‘part of nature’?
The part of nature is fantasy precise
Peristyle, pied, piety……….

knowledge,unknowinglyand unaware,
As One Wonder of God, I myself
a lifebloodin a safetymirage.
Began to recreatemyself with Nature
Without loosingpleasure, ecstasies

25. LONELINESS
Loneliness…….
Loneliness……….
Music of being alone
I walk through the narrow path
Clad with the veil of darkness.
When I was home alone
A music from darkness came to
my heart.
Some times in a melancholic
tone,
It falls like a mist to my heart.
It feels shivering.
My heart seems to bleed much
More than it has to have.
Thoughts haunted my mind
About the losses in my life
I heard the melody of nature
That could sweep away the
Sorrows of future.
Loneliness…. Loneliness….
Then I heard the music of
nature
That announces raindrops of
new hopes
And showers the hopes of
peace in my heart.

26. Education
“Education is like a bank account; the more you put into it,
the more you get out of it.” -Ching Chow
Many of us have varied experiences as far as schoollife goes.
Winston Churchill hated going to school and had to struggle for nearly twelve
years. Those who missed school used to be caned. At home too, he would be
punished if he didn’t attend school. So he forced himself to attend school. He
was very naughty when young, so he played a lot of mischievous pranks at
school.
As time went by, he had to appear for an examination, but he had no motivation
to study. On the day of the examination he was forced to go to school, but his
mind went blank when he received the question paper. He didn’t know what to
do. So for the first question, he just marked ‘1’. Then, after deliberation, he
added brackets: ‘1’. While pondering over the answer he spilt all his ink on his
paper. His teacher, Mr Weldon, saw his answer paper. He smiled at Churchill
and asked him to meet him later.
Churchill met Mr Weldon after the examination, who spoke gently and relieved
him of his fear and his loathing for school. Mr Weldon taught Churchill the
value of books and how they could become one’s good friends.
Churchill thus understood the importance of education. He followed the path
outlined for him by his concerned teacher. He scored very high and made
everyone proud of him. In later life, he became Prime Minister of England for
many years and his book, “History of the Second World War,” bagged the
Nobel Prize for Literature.
In spite of the recognition he got, Churchill never forgot his past. He was
always thankful to his teacher for his guidance. He claimed, “I must be the only
one who gained a lot of degrees by writing very few exams.” His early fear of
education was totally wiped off by his teacher, who led him through to the path
of glory.

27. CHIDHOOD DAYS
Childhood days are the most wonderful days in
everyone’s life. That day’s experiences will
remember forever. Sometimes our childhood
friends will not with us when we pass our youth. In
youth, we may get good friends. But childhood
friends will remain in our mind every time, even at
our death. It is a marvelous gift of god of us and so
no one can free from these days.
In the world a good amount of children didn’t get
happiness because of poverty, family problems,
diseases etc. In this situation, we must think one
thing that we are lucky to get a pleasant childhood.
Sometimes we also had bad experiences from
childhood but in comparing with other suffering
children, we enjoyed these days joyfully. When we
grow up, we should feel to smile at the time of
remembering that funny day’s with our friends.
So, I have a request to you that please tell to small
children “to enjoy their childhood days at your best
because these days will never get once more. “
