DEFINITION OF ENTREPRENEUR
In every definition of, or discourse on the entrepreneur, it is always clear that an entrepreneur is a person. An entrepreneur is not a firm or any other form of organisation.
An Entrepreneur has been defined as “A person who has the ability to see and evaluate business opportunities, to gather the necessary resources to take advantage of them, and to initiate appropriate action to ensure success”.
The word 'Motivation' is widely used or misused. This PPT is an eye opener for most of the managers faced with the problem of lack of motivation of their subordinates.
This is an attempt to solve their problem in a nutshell.

In politics, business, and education, individuals need to be held .docxbradburgess22840
In politics, business, and education, individuals need to be held accountable for their actions. Unfortunately, too many people do not know what it means to be accountable. This chapter discusses the concepts of accountability and workplace relationships. The concepts of empowerment, responsibility, and accountability are all about personal choices. These personal choices not only impact how successfully you will perform at work but have a tremendous impact on workplace relationships.
In chapter 5 we discussed power bases and how workplace power affects politics and ethical behavior. Employees in the workplace have power. Unfortunately, many people in the workplace do not use their power appropriately or at all. As companies place an increased focus on quality and performance, correct decision making by employees becomes more and more important.
Empowerment is pushing power and decision making to the individuals who are closest to the customer in an effort to increase quality, customer satisfaction, and, ultimately, profits. The foundation of this basic management concept means that if employees feel they are making a direct contribution to a company's activities, they will perform better. This will then increase quality and customer satisfaction.
Consider the case of a manager for a retail customer service counter telling his employee to make the customer happy. The manager feels he has empowered his employee. However, the next day, the manager walks by the employee's counter and notices that the employee has given customers refunds for their returns, even when the return did not warrant a refund. The boss immediately disciplines the employee for poor performance. Didn't the employee do exactly what the manager asked the employee to do? Did the manager truly empower his employee? The answer is no. Telling someone to do something is different than showing someone the correct behavior. The employee interpreted the phrase "make the customer happy" differently from the manager's intention. The proper way for the manager to have empowered the employee would have been to discuss the company's return policies, role-play various customer scenarios, and then monitor the employee's performance. If or when the employee made errors through the training process, the wrong behavior should have been immediately corrected while good performance should have immediately received positive reinforcement.
When you, as an employee, demonstrate a willingness to learn, you have taken responsibility. Responsibility is accepting the power that is being given to you. If you are not being responsible, you are not fully utilizing power that has been entrusted to you. The concept of empowerment and responsibility is useless without accountability. Accountability means that you will report back to whoever gave you the power to carry out that responsibility. Employees at all levels of an organization are accountable to each other, their bosses, their customers, and the com.
Loyalty is one of the most important factor in the employee retention and and customer satisfaction.
A loyal employee develop loyal customers and loyal customers means better sales and profitability.

Observation Paper
Observation Paper for Equity Management
Taihessa Lee
Organizational Leadership
Professor Stephen D. Griffin
June 30, 2013
The purpose of this paper is to describe the observable aspects of my current organization’s culture. I will address my perceptions using the following three viewpoints: vision, mission and core values. I am currently employed at Equity Management Corporation, which is a leading third party management company throughout the property management industry. It is a highly competitive organization that works on creating opportunity for their employees and managing with integrity. On the grounds that I work for Equity Management I know first-hand the extent they will go to meet their expectation out of every department and one thing they will always strive to be number one in the housing market. The greater part of these things are expressed inside Equity Management’s vision and mission statement. Their vision and mission are similar as it precisely what the company does and how it plans to develop.
The Mission: Managing with integrity. The Vision: Creating opportunity. The Core Values: will focus on the heart of our company. There are many other parts of Equity. Leasing Agents are the face of Equity. Property Managers are the arms of Equity. Regional Directors represent the head of Equity. But it takes one fundamental body part to keep all this going- the heart. Ultimately, the heart has to beat to make the parts all function together. The heart is where love, care and concern reside evidenced by our commitment to the job, one another and the people we serve. As Equity pays attention to the condition of our personal and corporate heart they can experience a deeper commitment to our everyday activities. The owner’s vision is to improve the heart of Equity in a deeper way. The owner realizes that our hearts inspire us to be our best, and create loyalty in ourselves. Becoming #1 in the industry means being financially strong and growing. But being #1 is also found in a company filled with loyal employees with high integrity, stellar performance while showing you care. I have witnessed this in my current employment with Equity.
Working at the corporate office was hard for me at times because of how clan culture the company is however it likewise has numerous motivating forces as well. I started my employment with Equity Management three years prior. This employment has been assisting me to develop passionately and also professionally. They are showing me to strive to be passionately and the best constantly. The major lesson I am learning while at Equity Management is their Core Values which is the heart of an employee to keep it functioning properly.
A great deal can be learned about an organization by analyzing and exploring the various aspects of organizational observation. My observation of Equity’s leadership and organizational culture would be healthy organization culture. .
People empowerment is a passion of mine. I believe that every individual has unique talents, abilities, and ideas that can positively impact their lives and the world around them. By empowering people, we can unlock their full potential and help them achieve their goals and dreams.
Among the hardest transitions for individuals is to move from the employee to the entrepreneur mentality. The idea of getting on your own, getting your own business is fantastic.
It's the desire of a lot of individuals to leave their jobs and get to be successful business owners.
However, is there a transition that has to be made from the employee mentality to the entrepreneur mentality?
It’s really exceedingly crucial that you bear this entrepreneur mentality to succeed in business on your own…because most of the principles you'll need to succeed are based off of being a true entrepreneur.
And there are gigantic differences between that and an employee mentality, I’m not pulling your leg …and we will look at it here.
While working in corporate world for about 15 years, I never realized the real issues that plague our organizations. But from the time I have stepped out of corporate ladder race and have got an opportunity to see the circus as a third person, there have been lot of eye openers for me.

1. Difference between Manager and Entrepreneur
Basically entrepreneur and manager are different positions but people take them as
the same usually. Manager is the one who is responsible for the management of the
organization. Manager is not the owner of organization but he works under the
entrepreneur. Entrepreneur is the one who sets up a business and takes risks in the
hope to earn profit financially. Entrepreneur is really concerned about his business
because he invests a lot of his money in it and expects more profit than his
investment for which he change, replace or substitute managers just for progress.
We can say that entrepreneur is materialistic person in some way. Entrepreneurial
management is known for very quick and sudden actions for new business options.
And entrepreneur knows very little about his products, communications, marketing,
sales, insurance and finance so on. And Chinese proverb is “A that is full is useless”
so an entrepreneur cup must never be full. On the other hand manager is the one
who provides his services to the business and free man. He is responsible for
management and growth of the business. He doesn’t invest anything in business and
he has to study in the business school and get trained for this post through his life. A
manager owns the job and gets his reward in form of salary, bonus, office promotion
etc. Entrepreneur can demote the manager as well if he is performing not well and in
some cases entrepreneur demote the manager for his own benefit whether manager
is working good or bad.
In the movie night shift Chuck (Henry Winkler) worked for 6 years in the night and
when he was about to get the morning shift his boss gave his shift to his nephew. in
organizations someone can be treated like chuck by his entrepreneur. Because
entrepreneur can make manager to someone he likes or to someone from his family.
But an organization like this can never make profit and do well for anyone. If the
manager is not going to be selected on merit then sure that organization will fall.
Chuck (Henry Winkler) and Bill his partner make an organization of strippers and
make money from it. A new entrepreneur can start organization like chuck (Henry
Winkler) and if he organized it well and become loyal with his staff he can earn profit
and make progress by it. He just has to manage it well and his business will run
smoothly. But he become materialistic and stops thinking about his workers and staff
then the economy, reputation and its revenue will fall.
