Weebly is a free website builder that allows users to easily create a landing page. After creating an account, users can select a template and add elements like text, images, and files to their page using simple drag-and-drop tools. Important features include the ability to upload files for subscribers, link to an external website, and hide the landing page from search engines so that only those with the direct link can access freebies or other private page content.

3. Before you can use it,
you must create an
account.

4. You can either connect
the service to your
Facebook account …

5. … or you can sign up the
old-fashioned way: by
providing your name,
email, and password.

7. Once you have signed
up, you can now log in.

9. Click the Facebook tab
or enter your email and
password.

11. To build a website, click
the orange “Add Site”
button.

13. Enter the title of your
landing page.

14. I suggest that you name
it as something like,
“Thank you for joining
my list.”

16. Select “Other” in the
“Type of Site”
dropdown menu.

18. Hit the continue
button.

20. You will be prompted to
select a website
domain.

22. Select “Use a subdomain of
Weebly.com” and hit the
orange button.

24. You will be brought to the
website editor.

26. To change the theme of the
website, click the “Design”
tab.

28. You will see this:

30. To get a better look of all the
available themes, click on “All
Themes.”

32. You will find a gallery of
themes. Click on the theme
you like.

34. This is a good theme for a
landing page:

36. When you click on the theme
you like, you will be shown a
preview.

38. Click “Use Theme” to use the
design you want.

40. Make sure that these are all
turned off:

44. To remove the header, hover
your mouse on the picture
and click on the gear icon.

46. Select “No Header.”

48. See, the picture is gone!

50. To add text and pictures to
your landing page, click on
the “Elements” tab.

52. You will find elements of the
website, which you can
simply drag.

54. Let’s say you want to add
some title text.

55. Drag the “Title Text” icon
into the website area.

57. You will see the words “Click
here to edit.”

59. Now, obviously, you know
what to do. 

60. When you click, the area
where the text should be will
have a yellow outline.

61. Enter your text.

you format the text (bold,
italicize, change the font size,
etc.)

65. Use this to make your text
bold.

67. Use the plus (+) or minus (-)
sign to change the size of the
font.

picture icon.

upload a photo from your
computer.

Weebly site?

need to do.

black dropdown.

104. Type the name of your main
website or you can simply type
“blog” if you have a blog.

106. Type the link to your blog or
website and click “Save
Settings.”

The tab that has your main site
name or your blog’s title will
lead people to your site or blog.

112. Click “Advanced Settings.”

114. You will see this:

116. Scroll down a bit further and
check the box that says:
“Hide this page from search
engines.”

118. Hit the “Save Settings” button.

120. Why would you want your site
to be hidden from search
engines?

121. Because your freebie, which is
only for your subscribers, is
available through that site.

122. You wouldn’t want it to be
found on search engines.

123. Why?

124. Because your freebie is meant to
be downloaded by people who
give you their email addresses!

125. They should get your freebie by
entering their name and email
in your “email catcher.”

126. When your site is ready, hit the
orange “Publish” button.
