2. Title: ‘Lost’
Beats:
Opening scene- The film beginnings with a medium shot of the
parents saying their goodbyes to Elizabeth and Lucy to make their
way to their holiday. Just before they leave they lay out the rules of
the house to Elizabeth and tell her to make sure she’s taking care of
Lucy.
The turning point for the character and the audience which changes
the direction of the story - This scene is where Elizabeth is on the
phone to her friends inviting them over to her house. Once they
arrive they go straight up to Elizabeth’s room. Following this, is the
part where Lucy asks permission Elizabeth to play out with her
friend Fred, and distractedly Elizabeth responses impatiently not
really listening to what her little sister asked. After releasing that
she can’t hear her sister playing or making any noise downstairs,
Elizabeth goes to look for Lucy around the house, to find out that she
is missing. Elizabeth then leaves the house with her friends on a
hunt to find her sister.
The Twist at the end- In this scene Elizabeth and her friends, are still
trying to find Lucy. Then one of Elizabeth’s friends tells Elizabeth
that she remembers Lucy saying something about playing out with a
friend named Fred and Elizabeth assured them that she is more than
certain that her little sister Lucy has no friends by the name of Fred.
A few moments later, Elizabeth makes the discovery that Fred isn’t
actually a person but an evil entity who captures children.
