3. Target audience
Our target audience is primarily targeted at a younger
audience of ages between 15-25, including both genders.
The secondary target audience is aimed at individuals of a
specific interest, for example individuals that enjoy a sense
of mystery and illusion. Also we are targeting at groups of
people, mainly groups of teenagers as it is almost seen as a
social event to go and watch a horror movie with a group.
4. The film begins with Elizabeth’s parents saying their goodbyes and getting ready to head off to
their weekend trip, and just before they left Elizabeth’s mum laid out the house rules to her and
reminded her that she has to make sure she takes care of her younger sister Lucy. As the film
continues Elizabeth is shown talking on the phone inviting some friends over to the house. Once
Elizabeth’s friends arrive they go straight up to Elizabeth’s room. Following this, Lucy goes up to
Elizabeth’s room to ask permission to play out with her friend Fred, and distracted Elizabeth
responds impatiently not really listening to what her little sister asked, Lucy then takes that as a
yes and leaves Elizabeth’s room. As the film goes on Elizabeth realizes that she can’t hear her
sister playing or making any noise downstairs, Elizabeth goes to look for Lucy around the house,
to find out that she is missing. Elizabeth then decides to leave the house with her friends on a
hunt to find her sister. Elizabeth and her friends, are still trying to find Lucy. Then one of
Elizabeth’s friends tells Elizabeth that she remembers Lucy saying something about playing out
with a friend named Fred and Elizabeth assured them that she is more than certain that her little
sister Lucy has no friends by the name of Fred. A few moments later, Elizabeth makes the
discovery that Fred isn’t actually a person but an evil entity who captures children and
Elizabeth is stuck on what to do next to save her sister Lucy.

7. Audio Elements
Soundtrack: A fast pace, low eerie soundtrack in the background, that creates an
atmosphere. With this soundtrack it makes it more mysterious as it is creating
suspense and the audience don’t know what's coming.
Special Effects:
- Classical: use sounds that have horror type connotations, which will help
make them recognisable and iconic to the audience, for example owls and bat
noices.
- Echoed Voices: which will help heighten the audiences mood, suspense and
emotion.
8. I choose this idea because my film creates anticipation, but
violates the audiences expectation by having an evil child.
This idea of including an evil child is a popular horror
convention which creates suspense and enigma for the
audience as it challenges the stereotype of children being
innocent, and this allows the audience to become intrigued
as they won't expect it. Additionally, my idea makes a good
project because the suspense will be built through a
successful plot, allowing the viewers to feel terrified
throughout the moment instead of a few jumps and scares
from time to time.
Rationale
9. Primary and Secondary Research
The statistics display that the most
popular film genres in the United

this it clearly shows that Horror is
the most popular film genre,
suggesting that a large audience

10. Reqirments and Resources
Cast and Crew include Camera man, director and
producer, along with the actors.
Technical equipment will include a camera and tripod
from Harrow college, therefore we’ll need to ask
permission in order to take camera home for a few
days.
Filming locations are in a house and outside at night,
however may be difficult to get a clear visible shot at
night and may cause disturbance to houses nearby.
11. Constraints and Contingency
The problems that may occur are, finding a suitable
time to film the child playing a role in the short film, as
they may be attending school at certain hours. Also,
problems with lighting when filming at night, as the
shots may be too dark and not clear enough to see.
