number of failures within an
item population, divided by the total time
expended by that population, during a
particular measurement interval under
stated conditions.

weights in line with different party’s concerns.

Design what to sample
• Choose the right sample manifest. Don’t compare something in the
different bases.
• Define or at least make a best guess of what dependent variables
contributes to it before making the manifest
• Sample the failure in specific Iteration, like 500 loops or in specific
time duration like 12 hours
• the clear cause-effects relationship is not just for debug, also for
reliable measurement.

  • 3. Failure Rate Definition - General Wikipedia - Failure rate is The total number of failures within an item population, divided by the total time expended by that population, during a particular measurement interval under stated conditions.

Don’t compare something in the different bases. • Define or at least make a best guess of what dependent variables contributes to it before making the manifest • Sample the failure in specific Iteration, like 500 loops or in specific time duration like 12 hours • the clear cause-effects relationship is not just for debug, also for reliable measurement.
