JOB DESIGN
the process of deciding on the content of job
in terms of duties and responsibilities , it is
used to develop the content of job

How the job will be done
 It involves specifying the content and
methods of job. The goal is to create a work
system that is productive and efficient.

 Where the job will be done
 To meet organizational requirement such as
higher productivity, operational efficiency,
quality of product , quality of service etc.
 To satisfy needs of individual employement
like interests, challenges , achievements etc.
 Specification of individual tasks.
 Specification of methods of performing each
task
 Combination of tasks into specific jobs to
assigned to individuals
 Organizational factors
 Environmental factors
 Behavioral factors
 To starts from what activity needs to be done
in order to achieving organizational goals.
 It requires the use of techniques
 It motivates employees for higher efficiency,
productivity and generates job satisfaction
then one designed on the basis of traditional
engineering system

another without any change in job.
