Describe Yourself Essay Sample
Writing an essay on the topic "Describe Yourself" may seem like a straightforward task, but it
often proves to be more challenging than anticipated. One might assume that talking about
oneself is easy, given the familiarity with the subject matter. However, the difficulty lies in
striking a balance between presenting a comprehensive self-portrait and avoiding self-indulgence
or clichГ©s.
The challenge begins with introspection – delving deep into one's personality, experiences,
values, and aspirations. It requires a keen self-awareness and an ability to articulate thoughts
coherently. Identifying the unique qualities that define oneself can be a daunting task, as
individuals often grapple with how to distinguish their traits from the common attributes shared
by many.
Furthermore, there's the challenge of finding the right tone. Striking a balance between humility
and confidence is crucial. Being too modest may lead to an essay lacking substance, while
excessive self-promotion might come across as arrogant. Crafting an authentic narrative that
resonates with the reader is a delicate art that requires careful consideration of language and tone.
Moreover, the pressure to stand out in a sea of similar essays adds another layer of difficulty.
Admissions committees and readers have likely encountered numerous "describe yourself"
essays, making it essential to bring a unique perspective or narrative to capture attention. This
involves choosing anecdotes and examples that showcase personal growth, resilience, and
character in a way that sets one apart from the crowd.
In conclusion, writing a "Describe Yourself" essay is no easy feat. It demands introspection, self-
awareness, and a keen understanding of how to present oneself effectively. Striking the right
balance between humility and confidence, along with crafting a unique narrative, requires skill
and attention to detail. While the task may be challenging, the reward lies in presenting a
compelling and authentic self-portrait to the reader.

Michelangelo s Sistine Chapel
Michelangelo always saw himself as a sculptor, even though some of his most
famous works are his paintings and architecture. In Michelangelo s words, Painting is
beautiful in the measure that it approaches sculpture; sculpture is bad the more it
approaches painting . In fact, when Pope Julius II ordered Michelangeloto decorate
the ceiling of the Sistine Chapelin fresco, Michelangelo rebelled. The Sistine Chapel
is an example of Michelangelo s impatience with others as previously mentioned. In
the fall of 1508 Michelangelo began the painting of the Sistine ceiling, calling on
assistance from Giuliano Bugiardini, Aristotile da Sangallo, Francesco Granacci and
several laborers. However, the work that Michelangelo s friends and laborers

Scenario: To open a Lemonade Stand in your local neighborhood.
Its summer time and the most important thing in hot weather is the need to quench
your thirst. What is a better drink then a refreshing Lemonade. Since long I was very
much interested in opening a lemonade stand, which I finally decided to have it
implemented before the summer season starts. After a lot of research and hard work I
have come up with a business model that would work efficiently in generating
revenue and also help local community.
Brand:
The brand name that I came up with is a catchy and trendy word which I think
represents the product and justifies the product s need in hot season. The brand name
would be GO COOL Real Lemonade. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pricing Strategy:
Since the Lemonade business depends on lemon and sugar, our company will have
to keep an eye on the stock needed and the availability of the two item locally and
internationally. Even though the business will be at the peak in summer and will
slow down in winter, a close monitoring on the international prices is a must. The
future plan of the company is to expand in other continents by giving out franchise.
So if it winter in US we generate business revenue from countries like Australia and
New Zealand where they would have summer. To keep standard pricing and profit
margin for the franchises, a detailed costing would be required. The things that are
needed to be considered would be Cost of Lemon, Cost of Sugar, Cost of water, Cost
of container, 10% overheads (labor, rent, utilities, etc), 5% franchisingfee and 7%
profit margin. In addition to this pricing 2% price fluctuation will be added to the
cost. With this calculation the company and the franchises should make enough
money to survive in the competitive market.
Global Market:
Even though the product can be packed in a container and can be sold globally, I
would prefer to have local franchises so that we can provide pure and authentic
lemonade without preservatives as we promised. Also, opening a franchise will give
local people employment, which is also a way to give back to the community.
If we stick to the plans and ethics, I think our company has a bright future

Oftentimes, new teachers are provided with little to no professional guidance, and
because of that, nearly fifty percent of teachers leave the classroom within the first
five years. This turnover rate not only has an impact on kids, since they lose the
person they were connected with, but it also costs the nation roughly 7.4 billion
dollars a year. This video, which focuses on the Hillsborough County Public School
System, in Tampa, Florida, brings to light the importance of mentor teachers for first
and second year teachers. Through the gathering of evidence and classroom
observations, these mentor teachers provide the passion for new teachers and help to
unlock their potential. Since the implementation of the mentor program their
retention of new teachers has gone from 72% to 94%.

Ergonomics and Repetitive Strain Injury
Ergonomics is concerned about the ideal fit between people or employees, and the

Ergonomics is the scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of

the feet should be supported by a foot rest.If both your feet are not touching the

The Value Of Year-Round Schooling
Should you give up your summer vacation? Summer vacation should become
obliterated from our society because all of the information that is taught during the
year will be forgotten and put to no use during the summer. Besides, studies have
shown that kids lose knowledge that they just learned from the previous year during
the summer. For example, on paragraph 7, in the article Vacation Just as Important as
Schoolit said that, The gist is that in summer kids forget whatever they just have
learned. Proving that kids need year round schooling so the information they learned
can stay with them for the following years. Also, in the article A Lesson in the Value
of Summer , paragraph 19, they said that, Increasing summer school may be a good
educational policy for raising standardized test scores. Making a point that having

Another example was found in paragraph 2, in the article The Case for Year Round

My Legacy in Writing Skills
It s the wanting to know that makes us matter. This quote in Tom Stoppard s
Arcadia, inspired me beyond my years of wisdom. I have used this quote at least
once in my writing every year, because it inspired me to leave my legacy through
writing. I write of what I want to know, of what I want to change, of what I believe,
and one day a collection of my writingwill be all that s left of me, and it will allow
me to still matter, even when I m gone. Although my writing may not be equivalent
to Tom Stoppard s, I am slowly progressing towards obtaining strong writing skills.
Writing in English 1101 this semester has taught me to dive deep into stories, to work
on my organization and grammar, and most importantly, to remind myself that I write
to leave a legacy.
There have been many changes in my writing over the semester, from the first
capitalized letter of the piece down to the last period. A specific change I treasure is
my quality of depth in my writing. Like an artist s paintbrush, I believe it s the key
component to any piece of work. When I first wrote at the beginning of the year, I
added depth to my writing with my infrastructural beliefs and perspective, rather than
analysis and strong reasoning. In my first piece for this class, I wrote a narrative on
the effects of terrorism on the Islamic community. I expressed what I was shown, The
students acknowledged that their understanding of our faith was constructed off the
information written in their secular textbooks.
Handgrip Exercise Analysis
The handgrip test is one of many muscular strength tests used by health and fitness
professionals. The test measures the maximum isometric strength of the muscles in
the hand and forearm. Handgrip strength has a strong association with overall
muscular strength and can be a valuable indicator of well being as well as overall
fitness (Rijk et al., 2015). Additionally, grip strengthis important in any sport or
activity that requires the use of hands to catch, throw, or otherwise manipulate objects.
Methods
Population Handgrip strength is dependent upon a number of factors, such as age,
sex, and body size. Because aging affects muscular strength, handgrip strength testing

For the Jamar hand dynamometer, there are tables for both men and women that
contain normative data, also measured in kilograms. These tables are divided into 10
year age intervals (20 29, 30 39, etc.) and are also divided by percentile. The value
from the test is compared to percentile data for the age ranges, and the individual s
performance is determined (Acevedo Starks, 2011; Roberts et al., 2011).
Safety
The safety precautions for handgrip strength test may vary depending upon the
individual of the participants. However, the handgrip strength test is quite safe and
few safety precautions are required for participants with no current or previous

The Breakdown Of The New Jim Crow Essay
The Breakdown of The New Jim Crow
Some say that nothing is ever truly brought to an end and that everything that once
was will be again. That seems to be the case when discussing Michelle Alexander s
The New Jim Crow , a nonfiction book that argues that Jim Crow has reemerged in
the mass incarceration of black people in America. Originally, the name for this era
we know as Jim Crow was inspired by a racist character played by Thomas
Dartmouth Daddy Rice. During the 1800s, Rice would dress in blackface and
perform a song titled Jump Jim Crow . (Bart Planged) A decade or so after slavery
was abolished in 1865, the name of this belligerent character was used to label a new
set of laws that plagued African Americans in pursuit of universal freedom in the
United States from the 1870s to the 1960s. Alexander s reasoning for rebranding this
historical era of torment towards African Americans is to show two things. Firstly,
America has not come as far as it likes to think it has as a country socially. The
argument of racism being a something left in the past and that it does not marinate
through America today is a poorly told myth. The only difference between now and a
century ago is that racism is more institutionalized and internalized than blatant.
Secondly, in the different section within the chapters she examines the racism in the
form that it is more commonly seen in today: systematic and institutional.

Vestibular System Essay
Literature Review
* Vestibular Anatomy:
The human vestibular system is the first sensory system to develop in humans
(Blayney, 1997). It is a complex sensory organization which consists of a peripheral
sensory apparatus, which lies within the inner ear, and a central processor, which
consists primarily of the vestibular nuclei and the cerebellum. The vestibular system
is integrated with the proprioceptive and visual systems to provide sensory
information used in the maintenance of balance.
The peripheral vestibular system consists of a bony labyrinth and a membranous
labyrinth. This system sits in the otic capsule in the petrous portion of the temporal
bone. The bony labyrinth consists of the cochlea, an oval cavity called the vestibule,

Why Did Rome Fall Essay
The Roman Empire will forever go down in history as one of the greatest empires in
the world. Centuries of imperialism and prosperity led the question to be asked, for
what reason did Rome fall? There was no single reason to the fall of Rome, there
were numerous things happening in progression to each other, causing the crumbling
of the magnificent Roman Empire. After the Punic wars with Carthage, Rome
captured a vast area of new territory. The fall of Rome was inevitable as soon as it
spread out of Italy because the further the territory is from the capital the harder it is
to govern. Imperialism, a policy which defined Roman principles, ironically was a
major cause in the decline of the empire. They became too ambitious, taking over

Summer Ball Summary
Summer Ball by Mike Lupica is a children s literature story of particular interest and
young boys. It follows a 13 year old boy named Danny Walker. Danny is a basketball
player who is attending an elite basketball camp called Right Way in Maine during
the summer. Danny is a very good basketball player but there is a small problem, he
is really small. Now he is going to the campto find out will his lack of height prevent
him from playing with the big boys.
Danny live in Middletown, Long Island with his parents, Richie and Ali Walker, who
have recently reconciled after a long separation. Danny, like his father before him, is
a star basketball player whose elite travel team won the national championship in
their age group, largely behind the skills of Danny and his friends Will and Ty. But
Danny has a serious concern he is very short for his age and since his father is also
less than 5 10 tall, he is unlikely to grow to be as tall as he d like to be a better
basketball player. In the beginning, his height didn t hold him back, but in the past
year other boys have been getting taller and he is having trouble competing. He is
also considerably shorter than his close friend, Tess Hewitt, on whom he has a not so
secret crush, but their relationship has cooled since she began hanging out with a new
boy who shares her interest in tennis.
As the summer following his 8th grade year begins, Danny s big concern is his
upcoming trip to Right Way. He knows he should be excited

Analytics for Cyber Security. The project mainly consists of two parts building a
predictive anomaly detection algorithm that detects suspicious cyber anomalies based
on multiple cyber datasets, and implementing a prescriptive model which optimizes
the output from anomaly detection and recommend the best course of action. We
have been closely working with Mr. Eric Chasin from Innvo Solutions LLC, and Prof.
Anil Aswani from IEOR department, to together achieve our goal of creating an
integrated system or model that would automatically detect and prescribe actions for
cyber anomalies. First, Chris led our group in learning to integrate different cyber
data sources into ElasticSearch, which is a big data analytics platform, using tools
such as Amazon Web Services and Logstash. After getting familiar with the data,
Siddarth, Aldre and I together summarized time window based features from the
datasets that are helpful in anomaly detection, and Kenneth led the group in
preprocessing the data with Python to extract the features we have discussed. At the
current stage, Aldre and I are working simultaneously on anomaly detection
algorithms for the suspicious network flow patterns. Specifically, Aldre has been

Chronic Liver Disease Research Paper
The multidimensional function of the liver makes it prone to various diseases.
These diseases interfere with liver function and leads to its derangement. However,
the liver has a great reserve capacity to regenerate and it only produces symptoms
after extensive damage. The liver diseases are categorized into chronic and acute
disease. Acute disease occur rapidly and exist for a short period while chronic liver
disease involves a process of progressive destruction and regeneration of liver
parenchyma leading to fibrosis and cirrhosis(Crawford 2007). The burden of chronic
liver disease is on the increase in both developed as well as developed countries.

Code Of Ethics And Ethics
It is essential for the organization to have a strong code of ethics to ensure all
employees understand the ethical expectations of the organization. The code acts as a
guide for employees to ensure they apply ethical decision making in the workplace.
As the manager you will play an essential role in disseminating this information to
employees as well as ensuring they are in compliance with the code. Employees must
understand the consequences of failing to uphold the code and the importance of
reporting ethical failures. To ensure your complete understanding of the importance
of the ethical codeI have selected a code of ethicsfrom three different organizations.
These examples are a good guide for the code that will be established for the
organization. The first example is the code of ethics established by the Society of
Professional Journalists. This code upholds justice and supports a democratic
process which would be beneficial to any American organization. The code of ethics
establishes the abiding principles for all members of the organization. This includes
ensuring the free exchange of information that is accurate, fair, and only seek to tell
the truth (SPJ, 2014). If all employee seek truth it will support the creation of a
moral and ethical work culture. By requiring journalist to take responsibility and
accountability for being accurate it creates values. These values can support the goals
of any organization. This ethical code also requires

Imagine you were in the 1970s and someone told you that soon computers take
over everything from shopping to dating and that you would even own a handheld
device much more powerful than a computer. It would have seemed completely
ridiculous to say that but now all of that has happened. Science fiction has become
our reality and we don t even realize it. Today we re at a similar point in time but
with genetic modification. So why don t we talk about it where it came from what
we re doing right now and about a recent breakthrough that will change how we

qualities in plants and animals. We never really understood how selective breeding
and other methods really worked until the discovery of deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA

caused rotting. The problem with these methods is that they were very time to

Sacrificial Love In Romeo And Juliet And A Midnight...
Sacrificial love is profound in William Shakespeare s play, Romeo and Juliet, a
story of two lovers who cannot wed due to an arranged marriage for Juliet by her
parents choice. After falling in endearment at a ball, Romeo and Juliet take many
risky paths to be with each other. Their actions to achieve such passion eventually
lead to their deaths and heartbreak in their community. The next intimate relation
found in Shakespeare s plays is joyful and playful love, and A Midnight Summer s
Dream is a great example of this love. This comedy portrays the matrimonial events
of Duke Theseus and Amazon queen, Hippolyta. During these two marital
preparations, Hermia and Lysander wish to marry, but Hermia s father wishes
differently. Hermia, Lysander, Demetrius, and Helena fall under love potions to lust
over the other for a portion of the play, but later overcome this obstacle and marry
their soul mate. In the Twenty First Century, men and women are free to marry who
they wish and when they desire to do so. Many countries have laws passed stating
that same sex marriageis allowed and accepted legally, allowing many to marry for
endearment and not acceptance into the world. Compassion is a soft, inspirational
emotion that all humans share, regardless of the cultural and social differences.
William Shakespeare has poetically captured the highs and lows of being and the
desire of falling in love. His works consists of thirty eight plays with love as the
most profound leitmotif, being mentioned in all plays. In the Elizabethan Era,
society s view of women was that they were solely property to the patriarch as an
inferior gender, subservient and dominated by the men. Although women were
disparaged by men, Elizabethan families established alliances with prevailing
families, maintaining reputation and security. In this age, men and women married
young and in the stigma of homosexual marriages, which were looked down upon.
However, Shakespeare s life is during the sovereignty of Elizabeth I, a well
respected and educated leader, assuming the role as a king to rule a country. Her
reign began to alter the roles of women, developing the idea that women will one day
be independent and successful. Despite women being oppressed in
Developing Case Studies
This paper contains a walkthrough of how to do a case study. This walkthrough
includes a process on how to do research, record field notes, how arrive at a
conclusion, and report the findings. Lastly, this paper will address the importance of
case study research.
Developing Case Studies Case studies are a research method that seeks to derive
an in depth understanding of a single or small number of real world cases (Yin,
2012). The process by which this specialized research is performed is briefly
outlined in this paper. The process begins with defining a case you wish to
investigate and gain a greater understanding of (Yin, 2012). A case can be a certain
person, team, organization, behavior, event or another social phenomenon (Yin, 2012).

The researcher will use the final analysis and summary to write a case study report.
This report will quickly identify what could be potentially important to the audience.
This can be done through multiple report styles such as: linear analytic, theory
building, comparative, and or suspense (Crowther, 2017).
The importance of Case Study Research This paper will now address the
importance of case study research. Mccutcheon states that case study research is
the primary means of exploring field conditions, making it highly valuable (1993).
Case study research allows you to get a specialized view of what takes actually
takes place in the world instead of in a laboratory. That is why its is advised to do
interviews in environments that are most comfortable for the interviewee because
you are more likely to get more in depth and accurate research (Crowther, 2017). This
is especially true with Yin wrote that case study research has, covered a broad variety
of subjects, such as community studies, education, public health, businesses and
industry, public policy and public administration, and social and societal problems
and controversies. In addition, case study research has a long and important role in
clinical and biographical research, including research on infants

The Theory Of The Mind Essay
The stability of the mind is uncertain in the medical field. Even though researches
about how the mind works has helped us developed a better understanding about
the human mind and its behavior, they have failed to give us a complete and
knowledgeable concrete answer to all the questions of its deep studies. The human
mind is still a very abroad subject to medicine. What makes a mind stable and what
triggers mental illnesses is a question that will still be unknown to the medical field
for more years to come. The understanding of the mind is a quest that has started
since the beginning of human civilization and it has not stopped. The mind is an
organ of its own, and it develops its own unique style of evolution through time. It is
a very small organ that is responsible for the function of the human body. All our
functions come from there, the way we speak, think and behave. As all other organs,
it also has its own illnesses that for many centuries we have tried to understand. The
illness of the mind still has no cure and what science has found only contributes to the
temporary solution, but not the cure of the illness. One of the most severe forms of
mental illness is Schizophrenia. This illness has tormented people since the beginning
of history. Schizophrenia, the illness that is still very mysterious to medicine; the
symptoms, the cause, diagnosis, types of schizophrenia and the medication are not
the solutions for a lasting illness. Schizophrenia
The Basque Region
The Basque region is in the northern part of Spain and Southern France. The Basque
language is completely different from any other language. Neither the language nor
physical characteristics of the people are comparable to any other culture, and not
similar to French or Spanish. The Basque people are mostly in Northern Spainand
therefore are perceived for the most part, as a part of Spain. In 1492 when the
Catholic monarchies led the conquest of Spain, they found that the Basque had a
completely separate culture from the Spanish. Because of this they allowed them
political autonomy and rights to protect their culture. In 1876 the Spanish
government abolished these. This was the start of the Basque Nationalist Party,
whose goal was to preserve the rights of the Basque people. Because the Spanish
took their rights away, it created negativity between them starting in the 1800 s.
Then in 1939 Francisco Franco came to power in Spain. Under Franco, the Basque
people suffered great losses of their rights. They were banned from the use of their
language and other cultural practices. While Franco was in power the new Basque
nationalist group was formed. University students founded the ETA(Euskadi Ta
Askatasuna) in 1959. ETA stands for Basque fatherland and liberty. These students
did not believe that the Basque Nationalist party was doing enough. They saw their
people suffering under Franco and wanted more to be done. They started by using
small amounts of violence to get the
The Objectives Of The Mercury Project
The objectives of the Mercury Project, as stated at the time of project go ahead, were
as follows:
Place a manned spacecraft in orbital flight around the earth.
Investigate man s performance capabilities and his ability to function in the
environment of space.
Recover the man and the spacecraft safely. After the objectives were established for
the project, a number of guidelines were established to insure that the most expedient
and safest approach for attainment of the objectives was followed. The basic
guidelines that were established are as follows:
Existing technology and off the shelf equipment should be used wherever practical.
The simplest and most reliable approach to system design would be followed.

Items (2) and (5) have been made apparent by the manner in which the astronaut has
manually controlled the attitude of the spacecraft during orbital maneuvers, retrofire,
and reentry, and by the recovery of the spacecraft and astronauts after each flight by
recovery forces which included aircraft carriers and destroyers. Basically, the
equipment used in the spacecraft was derived from off the shelf equipment or
through the direct application of existing technology, although some notable
exceptions were made in order to improve reliability and flight safety. These
exceptions include:
An automatic blood pressure measuring system for use in flight.
Instruments for sensing the partial pressures of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the
oxygen atmosphere of the cabin and suit, respectively. Some may argue with the
detailed way in which the second basic guideline of simplicity was carried out;
however, this guideline was carried out to the extent possible within the volume,
weight, and redundancy requirements imposed upon the overall system. The effect of
the weight and volume constraints, of course, resulted in smaller and lighter
equipment that could not always be packaged in an optimum way for simplicity.
Redundancy probably increased the complexity of the systems more than

Morality of War and Peace
Exam #1
For Aquinas, there are three conditions for Just War. The first is that the war must
be declared by authority of a head of state or a proper authority. The requirement for
a war to be declared comes from the Roman law. There is no specific time limit
between hostile activities and the declaration, but the act of declaring war does invite
the second party to the pending hostilities for the opportunity to offer redress in
lieu of war. An aggrieving nation must have refused to render the satisfaction to
proceed with a just war. War is not a last resort, but the cause of war cannot be
considered just unless the aggrieved party has first tendered the opportunity for a
peaceful settlement and been refused. War becomes a means of sanction for some
injury received in those cases where there is no alternative means seeking redress.
The second of Aquinas conditions for a just war is for a proportionally good reason
or just cause. If one can seek redress from some higher authority, then one is not
justified in resorting to violence. Aquinas states that the natural order conducive to
peace among mortals demands that the power to declare and counsel war should be
in the hands of those who hold the supreme authority. States have no common weal
against internal disturbances, meaning that it is their business to have recourses to
the sword of war in defending the common weal against external enemies. Lastly,

Meredith Grey is one of the main characters on the show Grey s Anatomy. The
show trails Meredith s life over eleven thrilling seasons, exposing her relationships,
family affairs, and love interests. The show also shows Meredith s unique ability to
work in a variety of different situations with a variety of different people. Meredith
Grey is daughter to Ellis and Thatcher Grey (or so we think). She was born and
raised in Seattle where the show is primarily based. Seattle is also home to Seattle
Grace Hospital a place where lives are constantly put on the line, and thinking on

Analysis Of Ford Motor Company
1.Introduction
This essay aims to use two events in Ford Motor Company to outline how global
business environment has changed during the two decades. The first event
introduces that Ford Motor Company bought Volvo cars in 1999, and the second
event indicates that Ford Motor Company sold Volvo to a Chinese car manufacturer,
Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd (Geely) after the financial crisis in 2010.
This essay will be structured in three parts. The first part of this essay begins by brief
introduction to the first event, and then this essay will use the PEST analysis to
evaluate the global business environment around 2000. Besides, similar to the first
part, the second part of this essay will go to analyze the second event with PEST
analysis, and discuss the global business environment after financial crisis.
Importantly, this essay will focus on how global business environment has changed,
but not concentrate on Ford Motor Company itself. The third part of this essay will
compare and contrast the two events happened in different ages and demonstrate the
change of global business environment. To sum up, this essay will attempt to draw
some conclusions about the tendency of global business environment in political,
economic, sociocultural and technological dimensions.
2.The First Event
In 1999, having bought Jaguar and Aston Martin, Ford Motor Company continued to
takeover Volvo cars, in order to expand markets and chase maximized profits.

How The Expectations And Roles Of Fathers Throughout...
Fatherhood in Canada and England
Alyssa Cisco
Fayetteville Technical Community College Abstract
In this paper, you will read about the expectations and roles of fathers in Canada and
England. You will learn about the statistics of children that are fatherless or living
with a lone parent father. You will also learn the definition of what a father s role
should be in his household. This paper helps the reader understand the importance
of a father in his child s life. Fatherhood in Canada and England Father is derived
from the Latin word pater: a man who has engendered a child, a male parent, or a
person who takes responsibility for protecting, caring, and rearing. It is only since
the early 1980s that there has been a public and professional focus on the more
effective use of the term father to protect, care for, and nurture children (International
Encyclopedia of Marriage and Family). A father is the most important thing in a
child s life. They are there to help make their child the best they can be. A child s
relationship with their father could affect later relationships that come later on in
their life until the day they die. A father should be a good role model to their child
because most children model themselves after dad.
Canada
In 1995, it was estimated that there were 4,167,000 fathers with at least one child
under the age of 18. In Canada, the average age of fathers ranged between 39 and
41. Thirty nine percent of fathers had a child less
Pensacola Interracialism
Pensacola first attracted it s the attention of European colonies in the 16th Century,
when Spain sought to expand the northern boundary of it American empire. The
native inhabitants of Pensacola were the Panzacola Indians and the first encounter
between the Spaniards and the native inhabitants was in 1528. On the day of the
Spaniard s arrival, after dinner in the home of a local native chief, tribesmen with
rocks and arrows attached them, killing several. This did not stop Spain in
establishing a Spanish settlement at Pensacola. In August 1559, more than one
thousand, five hundred soldiers, settlers and slaves disembarked at Pensacola Mexico
to establish a permanent Spanish settlement under Governor Tristan de Luna. A
month later, a hurricane... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Accounts of bondspeople fleeing south toward Pensacola countered the popular
image of enslaved men and women escaping from the Upper south to the Northern
State and Canada in the decades before the civil war.
Abolitionists helped the slaves run away to safer places and/or run away completely.
As evidence, the tales of the Underground Railroad demonstrate that, a small group of
bondspeople managed to escape from slavery permanently and travelled in a northerly
direction, often with the assistance of others. Among them include Frederick
Douglass, Henry Box Brown, William Wells Brown, Harriet Jacobs, Tubman and
Josiah Henson.
Despite being a preferred destination by a lot of run away slaves and a beacon for
enslaved people, Pensacola did not experience any economic growth. Neighboring
seaports along the Gulf Coast like New Orleans, Louisiana and Alabama experienced
explosive population growth and economic development. Pensacola remained an
isolated frontier village. The inhabitants were chiefly West India traders, smugglers,
private men, Indians, half breeds, run away Negroes and white men who had fled

Security Risks Surrounding Electronic Medical Records
In this paper we identify security risks surrounding Electronic Medical Records
(EMR) and discuss strategies healthcare providers can employ to mitigate those risks.
We begin with a brief overview of the legislative history driving the rapid adoption of
EMR and other health information technology. Legislation Driving Rapid Adoption
of EMR Perhaps the most important piece of legislation relevant to our understanding
of security risks surrounding EMR and health information technology is The Health
Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which was signed into law
in 1996 by the Clinton administration. HIPAA impacts the healthcare industry in
many ways, but of particular importance at least for our purposes of understanding
security risks surrounding EMR is HIPAA s security rule, which governs how
providers must protect private health information during the process of adopting and
implementing new health information technology such as EMR. HIPAA requires
covered entities to take reasonable measures to protect electronic private health
information. HIPAA is vitally important to our understanding of EMR risks because
providers can face harsh penalties if found in violation of HIPAA. Over the next
decade, significant advances were made on the technology front, and in 2009
president Obama signed into law The Health Information Technology for Economic
and Clinical Health Act (HITECH). The HITECH Act introduced the concept of
meaningful use as a way to

The Arab League s Purpose
The Arab League s Purpose is to strengthen the relations between member states,
coordinate policies, and be a safeguard to independence sovereignty. The
organization also has to purpose to serve as an actor to close co operation between
member states on certain issues that may arise. The following matters that the Arab
Leagueoversees are any economic or financial affair; this includes commercial and
customer relations and currency. They also have the power to be an actor in the co
operation of communications between membered states. Communications contain
railroad, roads and navigation matters. The extraction of criminals and issues with
nationality or passport also fall under the acting power of the Arab League. If any
of these matters lead to disagreements with membered states of the League, and it
results in aggression or the threat of aggression, the threatened state may demand
convocation of the council. This is how the Arab League serves as a forum. The
task of the council is to decide what means are necessary to guarantee peace security,
and to regulate co operations in social economic relations. Each member has a single
for in the forum, regardless of the number of representatives. If a state is threatening
another state, and can lead to war, the threatening state does not get a vote when the
council mediates the differences. If a decision is unanimous between all the voting
members, the decision of the council will be binding to all membered states. If
Persuasive Essay On Early Childhood Education
I pick Early Childhood Education (ECE) as my career. In this job I will be a
teacher or someone working at a daycare who avidly cares for children. I picked up
this career by taking care of my brothers kids while he was deployed overseas.
Taking care of them was so much fun and I realized I was good with kids. When
my niece started to talk I got to help teach her how to count and help her learn new
words. I feel that one day I can do a lot more with kids. It is important to understand
the education or training requirements, skills or talents needed, salary and benefits
offered, and the duties for a particular career when making this decision.
This job can be located world wide. There are lots of different schools everywhere.
The hours can go anywhere between seven am to four pm and that s not in the hours
spent at home grading papers and making lesson plans. You ll generally work at a
school and sometimes home.
The work you ll have to be doing in this class is making lesson plans, grading
papers, and talking to parents, and dealing with daft and odious kids. Some of the
duties you ll have to do are covering for classes, watching the kids at lunch and at
recess. Some of the daily routines are making sure kids get on the right bus and
making sure they go to the right car after school, or the right person.
In this career I could make approximately $20,000 a year, my job is nowhere near
the lucrative amount of money. You get paid a little more with the more experience
you have, but there s not a big difference. If you go get a higher degree you won t
make much more money, and if you do go back to college for the higher degree you
won t make enough money to pay for the classes (Cantrell). There is a librarian, but
there contract is longer so they get paid more.
Teachers are very important but due to the government s budget cuts they don t have
the money to pay teachers that well. In the next couple years the teachers will still be
needed because the more budget cuts the more teachers that will quit. Teachers are
super important for kids, because they need to know they have the support and basic
education, but the way technology is progressing, and able to do online classes is
why no one sees teachers as being
Electricity is the Main Factor in Producing Carbon Dioxide
I have chosen to pick the production of electricity because it is a main factor to

a)Describe ONE source of excess carbon dioxide pollution and explain scientifically
how it has impacted the environment.``
On average the world us 39% electricity therefore, electricity consumption is an
important portion of a customer s environmental footprint, which leads to the
production of Carbon Dioxide ( Co2) a few ways production of electricity has affected
the environment is: The main sources that generate carbon dioxide are thermal
powered stations where hydrocarbon fuel (gas, oil, and coal) are burned to produce
heat and steam to drive to the generators. Hydrocarbon fuel is what causes carbon
dioxide letting out chemicals that pollute the earth s environment.
Caron dioxide is also responsible for Global Warming. Global warming is a gradual
temperature rise of the planet s atmosphere. ( as said in paragraph one hydrocarbon
fuel creates heat ) Most of the light energy that comes from the sun is emitted in
wavelengths shorter than 4,000 nanometers. The heat energy produced from the
earth, however, is released in wavelengths longer than 4,000 nanometers. Carbon
dioxide doesn t absorb the energy from the sun, but it does absorb some of the heat
energy released from the earth causing global warming.

Robert Smithson s, Spiral Jetty, is an example of earthwork art. In Smithson s 1972
essay, The Spiral Jetty, he explains his first impression of the area where he created
one of his best earthwork projects. Throughout this essay, Smithson recounts how
his work was built and explains some of his artistic intentions behind the piece.
Earthwork art is a type of process art that is also related to minimalism due to its
nature of the aggressive character and makeup of bold, unitary forms. His essay
placed a strong emphasis on how the integration of literature and visual art can
develop the perception, interpretation, understanding, and sensory experience for

Smithson s essay forced a viewer to develop and learn skills necessary to evaluate,

construction process of his piece and how the resulting work exists in perfect
harmony with its surroundings. Smithson expresses his acceptance of the notion of
entropy throughout nature. Smithson explains the complex concept of entropy as an
irreversible trend of disorder and chaos that often leads to the obsolescence of works

The President s National Security Policy Essay
According to the Article II of the US Constitution, the president is the highest
political figure empowered with key executive powers such as the head of state, and
commander in chief among others. The president sits at the epicenter of the US
foreign policy establishments. His ability to pursue national security policypriorities
depends on the quality and efficacy of decisions emanating from the existing decision
making models. The models reflect on multiplicity of values, goals, and interests
through an interagency process of consensus building of several bureaucratic
organizations. Rational decision model critical to identify and prioritize national
securitypolicy objectives; develop and evaluate alternatives against the objectives;
select tentative decision from the most appropriate alternatives, implement and
evaluate the policy to prevent undesirable consequences. The American system of
government creates various constraining factors that exert significant pressure,
directly and indirectly, towards the decision making processes of the national security
policies. Hence, this paper seeks to evaluate the factors that most severely constrain a
president s ability to pursue his national security priorities; with recommendations on
how best, the president can reduce the effects stemming from these factors.
Considering the political model of decision making process, the US president is
undoubtedly not an independent decision maker. The structure of the US political

Blue Trail Narrative
When I first set out for the Blue Trail I did not know what to expect. I ve been on
several trails before that were infested with overgrowth and never found them
amusing, so what s so special about this one?
Finding the trail wasn t particularly difficult, since I knew the campus from its
sustainable farm to the music building overlooking its own lawn and pond; however,
once I got there I was surprised. Right on the edge of the road, the forest had muses
all around to draw inspiration from. I found myself transfixed by every little squirrel
that would not run away from me, since I was in their world and not the other way
around. Surrounded by an ocean of orange pine leaves, I wondered how much longer
until fall would come and transform everything.
THUNK. I tripped on several tree roots throughout the path and realized I was out of
my element. There wasn t that much human activity there either, besides the
whooshing sound of cars passing the road nearby or the lone blonde girl that sat
along the path. Of course, I avoided talking to other people during my walk because
that would ruin the time for self contemplation. Though, I must admit that I was
distracted all around by the tree stumps, beer bottles, spiders, gnats, and rocks on the
path. But, despite seeing the red barns and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Understanding The Retail Department Stores
Introduction
The purpose of this report is to develop an in depth understanding of the retail
Department Stores industry. This understanding will allow our team to create and
implement a strategic plan in order to gain a competitive advantage for firms in the
industry. The Department Store industry includes companies that sell a broad
assortment of products and also incorporates Discount department stores who offer
their products at lower prices than most other retail stores (Carter, 2015). There are
five major product categories sold in department stores and they are apparel, drugs
and cosmetics, furniture and household appliances, toys and hobby goods, and other
(Carter, 2015). Some stores may also have pharmacy and photo services as well as
restaurants.
Executive Summary
The Department Store industry growth rate and life cycle are declining due to the
industry being unattractive and not drawing in more competitors. Also, firms are
leaving the industry because they want to offer consumers more options and are then
reclassified out of this industry into another one. Industries use either the low cost
strategy or the differentiation strategy to obtain a competitive advantage. Analyzing
the external environment has shown that it is not attractive for new entrants. After
the Target data breach firms in the industry are taking the necessary steps to protect
consumer information to be able to regain consumer trust. The industry is starting to
raise the hourly rate for employees

Before my soccer games, I used to always get overconfident that I can easily score by

they are always scoring without any help. I always wanted to be able to do the
same as them, however, whenever I try to go up and down the field with the ball by

by myself, I ve learned how important teamwork is. However, overconfidence

Wetherell, the narrator is overconfident by showing off to Sheila Mant, a girl three
years older than him, and trys to multi task by doing three different things at once.
The narrator is 14, and he enjoys fishing alot. One example of how the narrator is
overconfident is by showing off to Sheila by telling her what he knows about fish,
when Sheila hates everything about fishing. According to the story, Yeah, bass.
They come into the shallows at night to chase frogs and moths and things. Big
largemouths. Micropterus salmoides, I added, showing off (Wetherell 2).
According to the quote, the narrator shows off by talking about bass after Sheila is
suspicious of the noise coming from the water, and adding on the latin name for
bass. He is trying hard to impress Sheila Mant because she is beautiful, but she is
much older than him, as she talks about college. The narrator is someone who
Sheila would never date, yet he s overconfident that if he takes her to the concert
they were traveling in a canoe to, he might get a chance. Another way the narrator
from The Bass, The River, and Sheila Mant shows overconfidence is that he tries to
keep a largemouth bass on a fishing pole in secret from Sheila, while paddling
upstream to the concert they were going to, all while trying to show off in front of
Sheila. The story states, I had managed to keep the bass in the middle of the river
away from the rocks, but it had plenty of room there, and for the first time a chance
to exert its full strength. I quickly computed the weight necessary to draw a fully
loaded canoe backward the thought of it made me feel faint (Wetherell 3). The
quote proves that he was trying to paddle upstream while trying to keep the bass on
the fishing line, while hiding the fact that there was a bass dragging the boat
downstream from Sheila, for she hates fishing. He tries to keep his cool during this
balancing act to make it look like

Describe Yourself Essay Sample

  • 1. Describe Yourself Essay Sample Writing an essay on the topic "Describe Yourself" may seem like a straightforward task, but it often proves to be more challenging than anticipated. One might assume that talking about oneself is easy, given the familiarity with the subject matter. However, the difficulty lies in striking a balance between presenting a comprehensive self-portrait and avoiding self-indulgence or clichГ©s. The challenge begins with introspection – delving deep into one's personality, experiences, values, and aspirations. It requires a keen self-awareness and an ability to articulate thoughts coherently. Identifying the unique qualities that define oneself can be a daunting task, as individuals often grapple with how to distinguish their traits from the common attributes shared by many. Furthermore, there's the challenge of finding the right tone. Striking a balance between humility and confidence is crucial. Being too modest may lead to an essay lacking substance, while excessive self-promotion might come across as arrogant. Crafting an authentic narrative that resonates with the reader is a delicate art that requires careful consideration of language and tone. Moreover, the pressure to stand out in a sea of similar essays adds another layer of difficulty. Admissions committees and readers have likely encountered numerous "describe yourself" essays, making it essential to bring a unique perspective or narrative to capture attention. This involves choosing anecdotes and examples that showcase personal growth, resilience, and character in a way that sets one apart from the crowd. In conclusion, writing a "Describe Yourself" essay is no easy feat. It demands introspection, self- awareness, and a keen understanding of how to present oneself effectively. Striking the right balance between humility and confidence, along with crafting a unique narrative, requires skill and attention to detail. While the task may be challenging, the reward lies in presenting a compelling and authentic self-portrait to the reader. • 2. Michelangelo s Sistine Chapel Michelangelo always saw himself as a sculptor, even though some of his most famous works are his paintings and architecture. In Michelangelo s words, Painting is beautiful in the measure that it approaches sculpture; sculpture is bad the more it approaches painting . In fact, when Pope Julius II ordered Michelangeloto decorate the ceiling of the Sistine Chapelin fresco, Michelangelo rebelled. The Sistine Chapel is an example of Michelangelo s impatience with others as previously mentioned. In the fall of 1508 Michelangelo began the painting of the Sistine ceiling, calling on assistance from Giuliano Bugiardini, Aristotile da Sangallo, Francesco Granacci and several laborers. However, the work that Michelangelo s friends and laborers
  • 3. Busn115 Week3 Assignment BUSN115_Week3_Assignment Scenario: To open a Lemonade Stand in your local neighborhood. Its summer time and the most important thing in hot weather is the need to quench your thirst. What is a better drink then a refreshing Lemonade. Since long I was very much interested in opening a lemonade stand, which I finally decided to have it implemented before the summer season starts. After a lot of research and hard work I have come up with a business model that would work efficiently in generating revenue and also help local community. Brand: The brand name that I came up with is a catchy and trendy word which I think represents the product and justifies the product s need in hot season. The brand name would be GO COOL Real Lemonade. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pricing Strategy: Since the Lemonade business depends on lemon and sugar, our company will have to keep an eye on the stock needed and the availability of the two item locally and internationally. Even though the business will be at the peak in summer and will slow down in winter, a close monitoring on the international prices is a must. The future plan of the company is to expand in other continents by giving out franchise. So if it winter in US we generate business revenue from countries like Australia and New Zealand where they would have summer. To keep standard pricing and profit margin for the franchises, a detailed costing would be required. The things that are needed to be considered would be Cost of Lemon, Cost of Sugar, Cost of water, Cost of container, 10% overheads (labor, rent, utilities, etc), 5% franchisingfee and 7% profit margin. In addition to this pricing 2% price fluctuation will be added to the cost. With this calculation the company and the franchises should make enough money to survive in the competitive market. Global Market: Even though the product can be packed in a container and can be sold globally, I would prefer to have local franchises so that we can provide pure and authentic lemonade without preservatives as we promised. Also, opening a franchise will give local people employment, which is also a way to give back to the community. If we stick to the plans and ethics, I think our company has a bright future

Retrieved from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVoyzliq7Ro Oftentimes, new teachers are provided with little to no professional guidance, and because of that, nearly fifty percent of teachers leave the classroom within the first five years. This turnover rate not only has an impact on kids, since they lose the person they were connected with, but it also costs the nation roughly 7.4 billion dollars a year. This video, which focuses on the Hillsborough County Public School System, in Tampa, Florida, brings to light the importance of mentor teachers for first and second year teachers. Through the gathering of evidence and classroom observations, these mentor teachers provide the passion for new teachers and help to unlock their potential. Since the implementation of the mentor program their retention of new teachers has gone from 72% to 94%. [PBS Newshour]. (July 4, 2013). Mentorship for New Educators Helps Combat Teacher Burnout. • 6. The Value Of Year-Round Schooling Should you give up your summer vacation? Summer vacation should become obliterated from our society because all of the information that is taught during the year will be forgotten and put to no use during the summer. Besides, studies have shown that kids lose knowledge that they just learned from the previous year during the summer. For example, on paragraph 7, in the article Vacation Just as Important as Schoolit said that, The gist is that in summer kids forget whatever they just have learned. • 7. My Legacy in Writing Skills It s the wanting to know that makes us matter. This quote in Tom Stoppard s Arcadia, inspired me beyond my years of wisdom. I have used this quote at least once in my writing every year, because it inspired me to leave my legacy through writing. I write of what I want to know, of what I want to change, of what I believe, and one day a collection of my writingwill be all that s left of me, and it will allow me to still matter, even when I m gone. Although my writing may not be equivalent to Tom Stoppard s, I am slowly progressing towards obtaining strong writing skills. Writing in English 1101 this semester has taught me to dive deep into stories, to work on my organization and grammar, and most importantly, to remind myself that I write to leave a legacy. There have been many changes in my writing over the semester, from the first capitalized letter of the piece down to the last period. A specific change I treasure is my quality of depth in my writing. Like an artist s paintbrush, I believe it s the key component to any piece of work. When I first wrote at the beginning of the year, I added depth to my writing with my infrastructural beliefs and perspective, rather than analysis and strong reasoning. In my first piece for this class, I wrote a narrative on the effects of terrorism on the Islamic community. I expressed what I was shown, The students acknowledged that their understanding of our faith was constructed off the information written in their secular textbooks.

  • 9. The Breakdown Of The New Jim Crow Essay The Breakdown of The New Jim Crow Some say that nothing is ever truly brought to an end and that everything that once was will be again. That seems to be the case when discussing Michelle Alexander s The New Jim Crow , a nonfiction book that argues that Jim Crow has reemerged in the mass incarceration of black people in America. Originally, the name for this era we know as Jim Crow was inspired by a racist character played by Thomas Dartmouth Daddy Rice. During the 1800s, Rice would dress in blackface and perform a song titled Jump Jim Crow . (Bart Planged) A decade or so after slavery was abolished in 1865, the name of this belligerent character was used to label a new set of laws that plagued African Americans in pursuit of universal freedom in the United States from the 1870s to the 1960s. Alexander s reasoning for rebranding this historical era of torment towards African Americans is to show two things. Firstly, America has not come as far as it likes to think it has as a country socially. The argument of racism being a something left in the past and that it does not marinate through America today is a poorly told myth. The only difference between now and a century ago is that racism is more institutionalized and internalized than blatant. Secondly, in the different section within the chapters she examines the racism in the form that it is more commonly seen in today: systematic and institutional. Recognizing the connection between Alexander s theory and the

After the Punic wars with Carthage, Rome captured a vast area of new territory. The fall of Rome was inevitable as soon as it spread out of Italy because the further the territory is from the capital the harder it is to govern. The project mainly consists of two parts building a predictive anomaly detection algorithm that detects suspicious cyber anomalies based on multiple cyber datasets, and implementing a prescriptive model which optimizes the output from anomaly detection and recommend the best course of action. We have been closely working with Mr. Eric Chasin from Innvo Solutions LLC, and Prof. Anil Aswani from IEOR department, to together achieve our goal of creating an integrated system or model that would automatically detect and prescribe actions for cyber anomalies. First, Chris led our group in learning to integrate different cyber data sources into ElasticSearch, which is a big data analytics platform, using tools such as Amazon Web Services and Logstash. After getting familiar with the data, Siddarth, Aldre and I together summarized time window based features from the datasets that are helpful in anomaly detection, and Kenneth led the group in preprocessing the data with Python to extract the features we have discussed. At the current stage, Aldre and I are working simultaneously on anomaly detection algorithms for the suspicious network flow patterns. Specifically, Aldre has been working on Transductive

  • 20. Sacrificial Love In Romeo And Juliet And A Midnight... Sacrificial love is profound in William Shakespeare s play, Romeo and Juliet, a story of two lovers who cannot wed due to an arranged marriage for Juliet by her parents choice. After falling in endearment at a ball, Romeo and Juliet take many risky paths to be with each other. Their actions to achieve such passion eventually lead to their deaths and heartbreak in their community. The next intimate relation found in Shakespeare s plays is joyful and playful love, and A Midnight Summer s Dream is a great example of this love. This comedy portrays the matrimonial events of Duke Theseus and Amazon queen, Hippolyta. During these two marital preparations, Hermia and Lysander wish to marry, but Hermia s father wishes differently. Hermia, Lysander, Demetrius, and Helena fall under love potions to lust over the other for a portion of the play, but later overcome this obstacle and marry their soul mate. In the Twenty First Century, men and women are free to marry who they wish and when they desire to do so. Many countries have laws passed stating that same sex marriageis allowed and accepted legally, allowing many to marry for endearment and not acceptance into the world. Compassion is a soft, inspirational emotion that all humans share, regardless of the cultural and social differences. William Shakespeare has poetically captured the highs and lows of being and the desire of falling in love. His works consists of thirty eight plays with love as the most profound leitmotif, being mentioned in all plays. In the Elizabethan Era, society s view of women was that they were solely property to the patriarch as an inferior gender, subservient and dominated by the men. Although women were disparaged by men, Elizabethan families established alliances with prevailing families, maintaining reputation and security. In this age, men and women married young and in the stigma of homosexual marriages, which were looked down upon. However, Shakespeare s life is during the sovereignty of Elizabeth I, a well respected and educated leader, assuming the role as a king to rule a country. Her reign began to alter the roles of women, developing the idea that women will one day be independent and successful. Despite women being oppressed in

  • 26. Morality Of War And Peace Kirsten Young ID#: 817086784 Phil 340 Morality of War and Peace Exam #1 For Aquinas, there are three conditions for Just War. The first is that the war must be declared by authority of a head of state or a proper authority. The requirement for a war to be declared comes from the Roman law. There is no specific time limit between hostile activities and the declaration, but the act of declaring war does invite the second party to the pending hostilities for the opportunity to offer redress in lieu of war. An aggrieving nation must have refused to render the satisfaction to proceed with a just war. War is not a last resort, but the cause of war cannot be considered just unless the aggrieved party has first tendered the opportunity for a peaceful settlement and been refused. War becomes a means of sanction for some injury received in those cases where there is no alternative means seeking redress. The second of Aquinas conditions for a just war is for a proportionally good reason or just cause. If one can seek redress from some higher authority, then one is not justified in resorting to violence. Aquinas states that the natural order conducive to peace among mortals demands that the power to declare and counsel war should be in the hands of those who hold the supreme authority. States have no common weal against internal disturbances, meaning that it is their business to have recourses to the sword of war in defending the common weal against external enemies. Lastly,

You will learn about the statistics of children that are fatherless or living with a lone parent father. You will also learn the definition of what a father s role should be in his household. This paper helps the reader understand the importance of a father in his child s life. Fatherhood in Canada and England Father is derived from the Latin word pater: a man who has engendered a child, a male parent, or a person who takes responsibility for protecting, caring, and rearing. It is only since the early 1980s that there has been a public and professional focus on the more effective use of the term father to protect, care for, and nurture children (International Encyclopedia of Marriage and Family). A father is the most important thing in a child s life. They are there to help make their child the best they can be. A child s relationship with their father could affect later relationships that come later on in their life until the day they die. A father should be a good role model to their child because most children model themselves after dad. Security Risks Surrounding Electronic Medical Records In this paper we identify security risks surrounding Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and discuss strategies healthcare providers can employ to mitigate those risks. We begin with a brief overview of the legislative history driving the rapid adoption of EMR and other health information technology. Legislation Driving Rapid Adoption of EMR Perhaps the most important piece of legislation relevant to our understanding of security risks surrounding EMR and health information technology is The Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which was signed into law in 1996 by the Clinton administration. HIPAA impacts the healthcare industry in many ways, but of particular importance at least for our purposes of understanding security risks surrounding EMR is HIPAA s security rule, which governs how providers must protect private health information during the process of adopting and implementing new health information technology such as EMR. HIPAA requires covered entities to take reasonable measures to protect electronic private health information. HIPAA is vitally important to our understanding of EMR risks because providers can face harsh penalties if found in violation of HIPAA. Each member has a single for in the forum, regardless of the number of representatives. If a state is threatening another state, and can lead to war, the threatening state does not get a vote when the council mediates the differences. If a decision is unanimous between all the voting members, the decision of the council will be binding to all membered states. If
  • 35. Persuasive Essay On Early Childhood Education I pick Early Childhood Education (ECE) as my career. In this job I will be a teacher or someone working at a daycare who avidly cares for children. I picked up this career by taking care of my brothers kids while he was deployed overseas. Taking care of them was so much fun and I realized I was good with kids. When my niece started to talk I got to help teach her how to count and help her learn new words. I feel that one day I can do a lot more with kids. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills or talents needed, salary and benefits offered, and the duties for a particular career when making this decision. This job can be located world wide. There are lots of different schools everywhere. The hours can go anywhere between seven am to four pm and that s not in the hours spent at home grading papers and making lesson plans. You ll generally work at a school and sometimes home. The work you ll have to be doing in this class is making lesson plans, grading papers, and talking to parents, and dealing with daft and odious kids. Some of the duties you ll have to do are covering for classes, watching the kids at lunch and at recess. Some of the daily routines are making sure kids get on the right bus and making sure they go to the right car after school, or the right person. In this career I could make approximately $20,000 a year, my job is nowhere near the lucrative amount of money. You get paid a little more with the more experience you have, but there s not a big difference. If you go get a higher degree you won t make much more money, and if you do go back to college for the higher degree you won t make enough money to pay for the classes (Cantrell). There is a librarian, but there contract is longer so they get paid more. Teachers are very important but due to the government s budget cuts they don t have the money to pay teachers that well. In the next couple years the teachers will still be needed because the more budget cuts the more teachers that will quit. Teachers are super important for kids, because they need to know they have the support and basic education, but the way technology is progressing, and able to do online classes is why no one sees teachers as being
  • 36. Electricity is the Main Factor in Producing Carbon Dioxide I have chosen to pick the production of electricity because it is a main factor to producing carbon dioxide. Throughout years it has increased the effect of carbon dioxide GLOBALLY. a)Describe ONE source of excess carbon dioxide pollution and explain scientifically how it has impacted the environment.`` On average the world us 39% electricity therefore, electricity consumption is an important portion of a customer s environmental footprint, which leads to the production of Carbon Dioxide ( Co2) a few ways production of electricity has affected the environment is: The main sources that generate carbon dioxide are thermal powered stations where hydrocarbon fuel (gas, oil, and coal) are burned to produce heat and steam to drive to the generators. Hydrocarbon fuel is what causes carbon dioxide letting out chemicals that pollute the earth s environment. Caron dioxide is also responsible for Global Warming. Global warming is a gradual temperature rise of the planet s atmosphere. ( as said in paragraph one hydrocarbon fuel creates heat ) Most of the light energy that comes from the sun is emitted in wavelengths shorter than 4,000 nanometers. The heat energy produced from the earth, however, is released in wavelengths longer than 4,000 nanometers. Carbon dioxide doesn t absorb the energy from the sun, but it does absorb some of the heat energy released from the earth causing global warming. Increase of global warming 1958 2008 b)Explain

In Smithson s 1972 essay, The Spiral Jetty, he explains his first impression of the area where he created one of his best earthwork projects. Throughout this essay, Smithson recounts how his work was built and explains some of his artistic intentions behind the piece. Earthwork art is a type of process art that is also related to minimalism due to its nature of the aggressive character and makeup of bold, unitary forms. His essay placed a strong emphasis on how the integration of literature and visual art can develop the perception, interpretation, understanding, and sensory experience for viewers. His essay also explains the disruptive construction process of his piece and how the resulting work exists in perfect harmony with its surroundings. Smithson expresses his acceptance of the notion of entropy throughout nature. Smithson explains the complex concept of entropy as an irreversible trend of disorder and chaos that often leads to the obsolescence of works similar to his jetty earthwork. He documents his
  • 38. The President s National Security Policy Essay According to the Article II of the US Constitution, the president is the highest political figure empowered with key executive powers such as the head of state, and commander in chief among others. The president sits at the epicenter of the US foreign policy establishments. His ability to pursue national security policypriorities depends on the quality and efficacy of decisions emanating from the existing decision making models. The models reflect on multiplicity of values, goals, and interests through an interagency process of consensus building of several bureaucratic organizations. Rational decision model critical to identify and prioritize national securitypolicy objectives; develop and evaluate alternatives against the objectives; select tentative decision from the most appropriate alternatives, implement and evaluate the policy to prevent undesirable consequences. The American system of government creates various constraining factors that exert significant pressure, directly and indirectly, towards the decision making processes of the national security policies. Hence, this paper seeks to evaluate the factors that most severely constrain a president s ability to pursue his national security priorities; with recommendations on how best, the president can reduce the effects stemming from these factors. Considering the political model of decision making process, the US president is undoubtedly not an independent decision maker. The structure of the US political system
  • 39. Blue Trail Narrative When I first set out for the Blue Trail I did not know what to expect. I ve been on several trails before that were infested with overgrowth and never found them amusing, so what s so special about this one? Finding the trail wasn t particularly difficult, since I knew the campus from its sustainable farm to the music building overlooking its own lawn and pond; however, once I got there I was surprised. Right on the edge of the road, the forest had muses all around to draw inspiration from. I found myself transfixed by every little squirrel that would not run away from me, since I was in their world and not the other way around. Surrounded by an ocean of orange pine leaves, I wondered how much longer until fall would come and transform everything. THUNK. I tripped on several tree roots throughout the path and realized I was out of my element. There wasn t that much human activity there either, besides the whooshing sound of cars passing the road nearby or the lone blonde girl that sat along the path. Of course, I avoided talking to other people during my walk because that would ruin the time for self contemplation. Though, I must admit that I was distracted all around by the tree stumps, beer bottles, spiders, gnats, and rocks on the path. But, despite seeing the red barns and ... All the people on my indoor soccer team are 2 years older than me, and they are always scoring without any help. By trying to do the whole play by myself, I ve learned how important teamwork is. However, overconfidence always gives me a boost of adrenaline before my games, making me excited to play. Wetherell, the narrator is overconfident by showing off to Sheila Mant, a girl three years older than him, and trys to multi task by doing three different things at once. The narrator is 14, and he enjoys fishing alot. One example of how the narrator is overconfident is by showing off to Sheila by telling her what he knows about fish, when Sheila hates everything about fishing. According to the story, Yeah, bass. They come into the shallows at night to chase frogs and moths and things. Big largemouths. Micropterus salmoides, I added, showing off (Wetherell 2). According to the quote, the narrator shows off by talking about bass after Sheila is suspicious of the noise coming from the water, and adding on the latin name for bass. He is trying hard to impress Sheila Mant because she is beautiful, but she is much older than him, as she talks about college. The narrator is someone who Sheila would never date, yet he s overconfident that if he takes her to the concert they were traveling in a canoe to, he might get a chance. Another way the narrator from The Bass, The River, and Sheila Mant shows overconfidence is that he tries to keep a largemouth bass on a fishing pole in secret from Sheila, while paddling upstream to the concert they were going to, all while trying to show off in front of Sheila. The story states, I had managed to keep the bass in the middle of the river away from the rocks, but it had plenty of room there, and for the first time a chance to exert its full strength. I quickly computed the weight necessary to draw a fully loaded canoe backward the thought of it made me feel faint (Wetherell 3). The quote proves that he was trying to paddle upstream while trying to keep the bass on the fishing line, while hiding the fact that there was a bass dragging the boat downstream from Sheila, for she hates fishing. He tries to keep his cool during this balancing act to make it look like
