In many applications, the risk
of fire propagation must not be
underestimated: in these cases,
an automatic fire damper must
be installed with a double fire
extinguishing system that can
intervene in cases of over-temperature
inside the purifier.

TheelectrostaticfiltrationsectionintheK-IND®systemisdesignedtoperform
important supplementary functions: in addition to abating particulate matter,
it is also able to produce high quantities of ozone that can be used to
degrade volatile organic compounds.
Furthermore, the scrubber’s hydraulic circuit is also used for washing the
electrofilter at regular intervals, and all this helps keep maintenance
simplified. Depending on the application, an inlet temperature regulator
can be added, fitted with a double heat exchanger, recirculation pump and
partial by-pass valve, or with a system for dosing the reagent in the scrubber,
equipped with regulators based on the pH or the redox potential of the
solution.

The values obtained at the emission
point are two or three orders of
magnitude less than the most severe
applicable regulations.
Here are the analytical values of a
purifier connected to three O-ring
molding presses and five post-curing
kilns (see table). The compounds
processed are typically NBR, silicone
and Viton, and the sampling is carried
out after one month of continuous
function (six days a week for two
shifts) without cleaning operations.

The use of specific reagents makes it
possible to eliminate odors in 100%
of cases in which foul smelling gases
resulted from the breakdown of additives
used to prepare the rubber compounds.
Precise design that aims for minimized
load loss has produced very low

8,000 m³/h at a cost that would be
a sustainable investment even for a

analytical instruments that
each of the three samples
required by UNICHIM
regulations had to be
