How Teams Work Teamwork Through Consensus or CompromisingMike Cardus
Consensus and Compromise
Many misconceptions haunt both consensus and compromise; it is not a tool in total agreement among the team, nor is it a type of voting.
Both are a decision making method where all parties involved have input on the decision to be made and whatever agreement is reached will not be sabotaged by the team.

Team Decision Making.
Managing & working on teams the procedures being used must be known, shared and understood.
What are often seen as ‘personality conflicts’ are usually just people with unknown work procedures.
The whole idea behind creative problem solving is the assumption that you know something that will help solve this problem, but you're not thinking of it right now.
Оксана Шатабилова. Предубеждения в тестировании. DataArtJuliaSmeshkova
This is about you
So I wanted to do something different. You are going to have plenty of good talks today at MeasureFest on new frameworks, case studies, the latest data tech tools.
The problem you might have though, once getting back into the office, is to actually take that next step.
- When will I get the time?
- Will IT let me add that plugin?
- Can I get Finance to sign off a purchase order?…
But you can start to make a difference, by focussing on you. You are more important than the tools you use, without you they add no value.
The more you develop the more valued you (and your tools of choice) become.
Enjoy!
As growing developers, we owe it to ourselves an organizations to stay on top of technology trends and tools. This talk is about how to suggest change in your organization without being too timid or too forward.
Tools for decision making (Brian Haff) ProductCamp Boston 2014ProductCamp Boston
We've all made rational decisions and forecasts based on individually analyzing the best available data. But there are many other aspects of decision making. This session will examine some of those. When can groups of non-expert individuals beat some of the best experts? What are some of the common biases that cause ordinary people to make decisions differently from those that they "should" make. Can you take advantage of the ways other makes decisions or is this unwarranted manipulation?

What is decision making ?
Process
-Intuitive process.
-Reasoned process.
Decision
.
6. What can prevent effective decision making ?
Not enough information Too much information
Having so much conflicting
information that it is impossible to see.
7. Too many people
Making decisions by committee is
difficult. Everyone has their own
views, and their own values.
Emotional attachments Courage
You must believe in what you are
doing before you are able to
convince others to go along with
your decision.
8. e c i s i o n
Making processDDetermine the problem
Collect information
Identify the alternative
Weigh the evidence
Choose from the alternatives
Develop a plan of action
Evaluate
the
results
9. Step 1: Identify the decision
Who
will be affected?
…
Is there a timeline by which a
decision needs to be reached?
what
it is you’re trying to solve?
Why
do you need to make a decision in
the first place?
10. This should include internal assessments and conversations
with your colleagues, but it could also include external
information from books, online, market research, surveys,
focus groups, etc.
Step 2:
Gather your
information
Next, you need
to gather
together the
facts and data
that will help
you make this
decision
11. Step 3: Identify your alternatives

Now you need to set out each possible solution, without choosing one.
Step 4: Analyze your evidence
For each possible solution, identify the roadblocks and routes that offer a higher chance of you
reaching your goal, and finally, rank your different routes according to preference.
Step 5: Choose your path
14. Conclusion
Apply this to your life
Bouizgma keltoum -- khadfi zineb
we recomend reading the following 2 books that focus on this topic :
Fooled By Randomness by Nassim Taleb —Helps with understanding how random
events influence outcomes.
Nudge by Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein — Explains how our decisions are
influenced by different factors.
Editor's Notes
In its simplest sense, decision making is the act of choosing between two or more courses of actions.
Is the pocess of examining your possibiles options comparing them and choosing a courses of actions.
Decisions can be made with two types of process : intuitive process or reasoned process. Ther first one use the intuition, wich means a combination of past experience and personal value, it reflect your learning about life.the second process, include the reason, using the fact and figure to make decisions, it can ignore emontional aspects to the decision.
