Boluwatife Olu Afolabi is a Nigerian clinician–scientist, writer, and head and neck cancer researcher whose work bridges clinical dentistry, molecular biology, and public health. A Doctor of Dental Surgery trained at the University of Ibadan and a PhD candidate in Oral Biology (Minor in Microbiology, Immunology and Cancer Biology) at the University of Minnesota, he investigates how the aryl hydrocarbon receptor and inflammatory proteins like calprotectin shape the biology of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, with a long‑term focus on translating laboratory discoveries into better cancer prevention, diagnosis, and care in the United States, Africa and globally.
