The purpose of this meeting is to provide information about
service changes that will be effective on Monday, January
1, 2018.

TIMELINES
COTA modifies service three times per year – the first
Monday of:
• January
• May
• September
January 2018 changes will begin on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018.
Holiday/Sunday service will operate on Jan. 1 in honor of
New Year’s Day.

TRANSIT (BRT) / ENHANCED BUS SERVICE
Goal: Provide fast, reliable, and
comfortable service along
Cleveland Avenue
Frequency & Span of Service:
• Bus Rapid Transit between
Downtown and Northland
Transit Center: Every 15
minutes
• Weekday rush hours: every 10
minutes
• After 10p: 30 minutes (serving
all Line 6 and CMAX stops)
• Enhanced Bus Service between
Northland Transit Center and
Ohio Health Westerville: Every
30 minutes

Goal: Provide supplemental service to
the CMAX, serving all stops on Cleveland
Avenue between Downtown and Northland
Transit Center
Changes:
• Frequency & Span of Service:
• Every 30 minutes
• Last trip ends at 10p (replaced by
CMAX late night service)
• Route:
• All trips connect to Sullivant (select
trips will no longer end Downtown)
• Downtown route modified to use
Spring, Front, Marconi, Long, 3rd,
4th, Main and Mound streets,
instead of High

• Provide North Columbus
crosstown connection primarily
along Dublin Granville Rd.
between Busch Blvd. and
Easton Transit Center
• Provide new connections to
existing COTA service

on all buses by December 15
• Cash and change still accepted
• Mobile ticketing scheduled for
early 2018
• Mobile app will be available on

(Visa/MasterCard/Discover/
Paypal) or prepaid card
• Account must be created
• No fees or additional costs
associated with using app
• Smartcards will launch in 2018

FARE ADJUSTMENTS
• Fares are evaluated every three years
• A public comment period was held October 2 – October 20
• On November 15th, it was decided by COTA’s Board of Trustee’s
that there will be no fare adjustment for 2018
