PowerPoint reviews what technology skills will be necessary for schools to move into the 21st Century
These slides accompanied the IIT Kanpur campus entrepreneurs discussion on Education Sector led by Utkarsh Bagri and Deepak Choudhary, co-founders of Pariksha.co.
Date : 19th January 2014
Professional Goal
To contribute to teachers’ understanding of best teaching strategies and integrating technology to develop students’ knowledge in an engaging, collaborative, and high-tech learning environment
In this talk, Professor Robert J. Glushko briefly traces the evolution of the intelligent content idea through four different areas where his career has taken him as a researcher, consultant, and entrepreneur. The idea was born about twenty-five years ago in technical publications, where intelligent content enabled product documents could be customized by format or document type. It evolved to transactional publishing in supply chains and business-to-business transactions, where it supported content aggregation and easier integration and interoperability. It further matured in information-intensive services, where it facilitated personalization and the prediction of unexpressed customer preferences and requests.

Slides delivered during the closing keynote at 501cometogether: The Illinois Nonprofit Conference, sponsored by Donors Forum, on October 16, 2012.
Based on the book "Brandraising: How Nonprofits Raise Visibility and Money Through Smart Communications" (Jossey-Bass, 2010), this closing keynote will challenge you to think about what’s unique about your organization and why people should be interested in supporting your cause. You’ll hear about ways to create a compelling identity that expresses the personality of your organization, attracts program participants, and takes your organization to the next level. With the proper brand in place, you’ll better understand the tools you need to communicate online and off, and ensure your organization’s staff and board are speaking with one voice. You’ll also hear about how others have used “brandraising” techniques to reposition themselves in a fresh, modern way--and how raising the visibility of your organization helps the nonprofit sector at-large.

The creation of medical device content has become one of the best examples of intelligent content. Many companies have moved to modularized structured content, developed powerful reuse strategies, and begun to tackle their translation workflow, but new challenges continue to put pressure on content teams. Join Ann Rockley as she talks about how to address some of these challenges such as 1) Rapidly changing global regulatory requirements; 2) The increasing number of SME authors; 3) Translation review (in-country reviewers vs. quality certificates); 4) The increasing rigor of workflow; 5) The full integration in the print publication process, from agencies to the manufacturing floor; and finally 6) The balance between usability and regulatory requirements.
This presentation was given at Information Development World on October 2, 2015.
