The trainer will support teaching and learning of microprocessor and embedded system design courses affordably.
A novel approach for teaching system software by integrating with other courseseSAT Journals
Abstract Teaching individual courses in our curriculum is done with inadequate focus on integrating the learning with other courses. This results in students not appreciating the courses showing less interest in learning process. This paper presents the new approach developed by us to teach the system software theory and practical courses for the computer science students. In this approach we are integrating the System Software course with the learning in the course on Microprocessor 8086, Microcontrollers and its Applications. Further this paper elaborates as how the use of a hypothetical machine in conventional teaching gave the freedom to teach system software concepts but failed to connect to reality. The method followed in this new teaching approach is that it relates all the concepts taught in system software with the real-time system/machines instead of hypothetical machine. It provides the flow that correlates the course with the existing software. This paper also explains how the changes in technology helped to consider real-time machine as an example while teaching concepts of system software rather than hypothetical machine. This paper also through light on the limitations of teaching the System Software course with hypothetical machine, the challenges faced during the change in syllabus and a brief explanation on the chosen real-time machine. We have observed better learning of the concepts of systems software through this approach. The result analysis prove, connecting the learning in courses taught in early semesters in the delivery is observed to help in building the learning context. It has resulted in improving their performance and understanding in the course. Keywords: System Software, teaching approach, real-time machine, hypothetical machine, practical approach
Engineering-Driven Situational Teaching Study on Electric Control of Mechanic...iosrjce
In order to further improve teaching effect of the course regarding electric control of mechanical
equipments, and strengthen electrical design and PLC control capability about machinery equipments of
students, a situational teaching method under guidance of engineering is presented. The method includes casebased
classroom teaching, field-based course teaching and project-based comprehensive practice. Aiming at the
course knowledge of each chapter, some engineering cases are combined into classroom teaching. Based on
some actual engineering objects, the students can understand electrical systems well through on-site tasks such
as use, dismantling, assembly, connection and commissioning. Based on some training devices, the practical
ability of students can be improved using project tasks. The teaching results show that, for the students who
have no any engineering background, the situational teaching helps them understand, grasp and apply

Cosmic Function Point (CFP) measurement errors leads budget, schedule and quality problems in software projects. Therefore, it’s important to identify and plan requirements engineers’ CFP training need quickly and correctly. The purpose of this paper is to identify software requirements engineers’ COSMIC Function Point measurement competence development need by using machine learning algorithms and requirements artifacts created by engineers. Used artifacts have been provided by a large service and technology company ecosystem in Telco. First, feature set has been extracted from the requirements model at hand. To do the data preparation for educational data mining, requirements and COSMIC Function Point (CFP) audit documents have been converted into CFP data set based on the designed feature set. This data set has been used to train and test the machine learning models by designing two different experiment settings to reach statistically significant results. Ten different machine learning algorithms have been used. Finally, algorithm performances have been compared with a baseline and each other to find the best performing models on this data set. In conclusion, REPTree, OneR, and Support Vector Machines (SVM) with Sequential Minimal Optimization (SMO) algorithms achieved top performance in forecasting requirements engineers’ CFP training need.

A laboratory model of a dual active bridge dc-dc converter for a smart user n...Alessandro Burgio
The paper presents the application of a dual active bridge DC-DC converter for a smart user network that is a microgrid with a DC-powered local network (or DC bus). In such a microgrid the DC-DC converter connects a battery energy storage system to the DC bus. In a previous paper, the authors demonstrated that the DC-DC converter is able to assure a stable DC bus voltage to a reference value; performance was evaluated by means of numerical experiment using Simplorer. In this paper the DC-DC converter is further investigated using a 400W laboratory model of a smart user network; the laboratory results demonstrate that the converter provides a high level of reliability and resilience against disturbances.
Evaluation reports of various DC-DC converter products that are available in Japan. DC-DC converter is used to provide a stable output DC voltage to its load such as rechargeable battery. We have tested 5 types DC-DC converter samples which can be available in amazon.co.jp. As of 2016/12.

Abstract—The paper presents a dual active bridge converter, i.e. an isolated bidirectional DC/DC converter composed of two full-bridge DC/AC converters and an isolation high frequency (HF) transformer, useful for application in a DC-powered microgrid. The dual active bridge converter connects a battery energy storage system to a DC bus so to provide a high level of reliability and resilience to grid disturbances. In particular, the proposed converter ensures a stable DC bus voltage when the microgrid is operated in islanded mode. Numerical results demonstrate the good dynamic response of the converter under transient condition of
Distributed energy resources (DER) based micro grid and Nano-grid framework is most technically viable bottom-top approach to sustainably meet ever-increasing demand of rural and urban communities. Recently the growth of DC operative home appliances like mobile and lap top chargers, ovens and hair dryer’s etc. are increasing and therefore a DC/DC converter is an efficient way to meet the electricity need from the local DER and helps in improving the system efficiency. This paper presents simulation results of a buck boost converter, MPPT algorithm (P & O method) for solar PV module and closed loop PI control system for obtaining constant 12 V and 24 V DC output voltage at DC bus. The proposed methodology is to extract maximum DC power from solar PV system and it is directly fed to DC load or DC Nano grid.
It’s a power electronics project. It is able to give output voltage(DC) more and less than input voltage as per requirement.
We can generate variable DC voltage which is less than input, but, the special things about this converter is, it has capability to produce variable DC voltage as high as twice the input voltage.
We have specially designed and manufactured inductor for this project.

SOFTWARE BASED CALCULATION OF CAPACITY OUTAGE OF GENERATING UNITSvivatechijri
The main theme of the project is to develop software for calculating the reliability & capacity outage table for generation purposes. The method for the calculation is quite lengthy, complex & a high possibility to get a human error during the calculation. The methods used to calculate reliability & capacity outage are Digital Method, Partial Binomial Method & Recursive Method, this method is highly recommended, but can be complex during the actual calculation. To justify the need for this method & also to remove the human error factor during quicker & better calculation, the software is made with the help of the python software. The python-based website will be easily accessible to use to any sort of user, choosing python program was a better option as it does not compile but interprets the calculation are in constant runtime with the input of values, this program helps in developing highly complex calculation which is up to many decimal points.

22 Re-Engineering Traditional Learning Model with Outcome-Based Learning Curv...ijtsrd
This paper presents the design and implementation of an indigenous outcome based 8051 microcontroller training kit. Most of the existing microcontroller training kits available do not have local content, and also have problems with maintenance and repair when they develop faults. Users usually dump these kits when they develop faults due to a lack of trained technical maintenance personnel. This project used components that are locally available to implement an outcome based 8051 microcontroller training kit that is modular and easy to use. In the methodology, the bottom top approach was used to design the individual modules of the kit before fabricating them on a printed circuit board PCB . The user manual was then developed and experiments in it were tested using the developed training kit. The result of the work is an outcome based 8051 microcontroller training kit that meets the National Universities Commission NUC and Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria COREN standards. It has various modules for the user to practice several 8051 microcontroller programming experiments. The work can be deployed in university laboratories for microcontrollers and embedded systems training. Specifically, there are courses in Mechatronics engineering, FUTO, that can be taught using this kit. CPU implementation using only logisim simulator to achieve computer architect...journalBEEI
This paper proposes the design, implementation, and evaluation of an 8-bit CPU architecture in computer organization and architecture (COA) course for Undergraduate Computer Engineering using only Logisim simulator. The main advantage of using one simulator is the elimination of inefficiency so that students can concentrate more on the course’s content without spending their time just to learn how to use each different type of simulators. To achieve that, a simple CPU architecture is pre-designed and be implemented in Logisim simulator. According to previous researches, Mic-1 CPU architecture is chosen because it is the simplest one and can be easily built using many simple logic gates already existed in the Logisim. To evaluate the desired outcome, students are separated into two different groups. Each group used different type of learning media and material and then their examination scores and satisfaction are compared to each other. Every student belongs to the group that only used Logisim simulator obtained higher score and more than 50% are satisfied with the new learning process and material. Thus, it envisaged that this method will made the delivering learning process in COA course be more efficient than what has happened so far.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
