2. Postmodernism
postmodernism is like poststucturalism
and deconstruction. The critique of the
aesthetic of preceding age.
The critique, postmodernism
celebrates the very act of dismembering
tradition.

3. In the European philosophy had to be the
true contingent and that most cultural
constructions have the function of empowering
member of a dominate social group.
Postmodernism emerged in art
architecture, music , film , literature , sociology
communication , fashion and other fields.

4. Major figure of high modernism.
Redefine poetry and fiction included the
Virginia Woolf, James Joyce , Ezra Pound , T. S
Eliot , Wallace Stevens , Marcel Proust , Franz
Kafka and William Faulkner.
The fragmented view of a human history (as
in Eliot’s )The waste Land (1925) memorable
passages as the molly Bloom section that closes
Joyce’s Ulysses(1922).

major culture and social changes brought by
mass media innovations.

defintitative definition of popular culture

culture has the problem that much “light
culture “ television dramatization of Jane
Austen.
 Popular culture is also defined as the
culture that is left over when we have
decided what high culture is however many
works straddle the boundaries.
Third definition equates popular culture
with mass culture and ideas.
