This document discusses several upcoming or past events related to applied mathematics, omics technologies, biodiversity, genetic resources, and climate change: - A conference in Rabat, Morocco from June 24-27, 2014 on applying mathematics and omics to discover biodiversity and genetic resources for climate change adaptation and mitigation in drylands. - The international project "Mathematics of Planet Earth 2013" continuing in 2014 to identify fundamental research questions about the planet and engage the public. - Genetic variation in populations can be detected at different scales, from gene expression to populations, implying patterns can be quantified and predicted. Climate change may induce new patterns.
