2. SYNOPSIS
• A young teenager is thrown out on the streets left to fend for himself and his family
and friends has abandoned him. He’s now completely isolated in an environment
unknown to him. He has no money or clean clothing or food. He goes on trips around
the UK and Europe trying to find his place back in the world. He struggles, he’s beaten
up, robbed, left starving and close to giving up. A kind sole becomes his savior as he
sees this broken kid and offers him a place to stay. This begins the start of a beautiful
friendship. The man who helps the kid is quite elderly and doesn’t have family around
him or friends so he knows the feeling of isolation.

3. • However, unknown to him the older man has cancer and is dying but hides it from
the kid as he doesn’t want to take the only family this kid has. He gets worse and
worse, falling into a critical state. He still doesn’t tell the kid that he has cancer
and says he just tripped. The nurses finally tell the kid about the cancer over the
phone and he rushes into the hospital to see him. He gets there as the man is
fading. His last words echoed through the kids head for the rest of his life. He
simply stated thanks and faded away. The kid lived the rest of his life helping out
people and keeping his feet on the ground. Until he suffers the same fate.

• This doesn’t follow any current trends as the themes I have used within this and
the story I want to tell aren’t really done before. This means it is a unique selling
point because the story also has personal elements and hopefully within the
setting more people can contact with the characters within.

7. TARGET AUDIENCE.
• Demographics.
• The target audience of this piece would be teenagers as the main character is a
teenager. This would give them a identification with the character. The secondary
target audience is people who can relate to the topics within the short film.
• My message is up to be kind no matter what life throws your way. To keep going
and never giving up even when life hits rock bottom as the only way is upwards
from there.

8. INSPIRATION.
• I took some personal inspiration form events I have experienced or nearly experienced. I
took the emotion and sadness I felt within these moments and made this into a story. I
added other elements with the inspiration of YouTube clips I have seen. For example, a
short film where a man helps a child with cancer. I combined these stories and added the
family aspect for the feel good moments.
