EVALUATION 4
AND 5
WHO WOULD BE THE TARGET
AUDIENCE FOR MY MEDIA PRODUCT?
• Because both of the characters in our film are female our film will probably be watched
mostly by girls because they can relate to the film more, although boys may also be
interested in watching the film aswell
• Because the age of both our characters is young and they are teenagers, teenagers will
probably be most interested in watching this film, and because it has to be suitable for
15 year olds it wont have as much scary content as other horror films, so older people
might not be interested in watching it.
MY TARGET AUDIENCE
LAUREN KAVANAGH AGED 17
This is the first member of my target audience, Lauren Kavanagh. She is a
year 12 Student at Chew Valley Sixth Form and studies, Business, Media
and Sociology. In her spare time she enjoys watching TV, listening to
music and enjoys socialising with her friends, doing things such as going
to the cinema, out for food or shopping. Lauren is a very outgoing
student and balances her social life and school work very well, she is very
independent and has a part time job on the weekends. When it comes to
watching films she is up for watching just about anything with her
friends, from Romantic films to horror films.
ELLIE LATHAM AGED 17
My second target audience member is Ellie Latham, she is also a year 12
student at Chew Valley Sixth Form and studies Psychology, Media,
Business and Dance. Ellie is a very outgoing person and hates staying
indoors, she is always up for a laugh and enjoys doing new things and
spending lots of time with her friends. She has a part time job at a call
centre where she works 4 times a week after school or on the mornings
on the weekend. Because ellie is more of an outside person she never
normally spends time inside watching TV but does enjoy going to the
cinema when she's with her friends, she is a people pleaser and always
tries her best to make sure everyone is happy.
OSCAR GARLAND AGED 17
This is my final target audience member, Oscar Garland. Just
like Ellie and Lauren he is also a student at Chew Valley Sixth
Form and studies Psychology, Business, Chemistry and
Biology. He isn’t the outdoors type and enjoys staying inside
playing on his PlayStation. He enjoys playing games such as
Call Of Duty and Assassins Creed. He likes being the class
clown and is always playing pranks on people. One of his
favourite things to do is watch horror films with his friends on
the weekend, he finds them thrilling and is a bit of an
adrenaline junkie.
HOW DID YOU ADDRESS YOUR
AUDIENCE?
• We addressed our audience by using characters of a similar age and gender, this is so
the target audience can aspire to be like them and will enjoy the film more.
• We chose a scary film because they typically have a younger fan base and from my
research all of my target audience, either on their own or with their friends
• In one of our shots we use a IPhone as a mobile phone – we did this because Apple
phones are the latest trends when it comes to young people these days
• The protagonist dresses in casual clothes and trendy trainers to show that she is young
and fashionable, which younger teenagers can relate to.
