It analyzes article and book usage data by research area to understand output and growth trends. Journal usage data shows user behaviors. Book usage and turnaway data indicates the questions users are asking and what percentage of answers are being provided. Putting this all together allows understanding research strategies, user behaviors, information needs, and how well those needs are being met.
