Data communication refers to the transmission of digital data between two or more computers. A computer network allows computers to exchange data and consists of two or more linked computers that share resources. Personal area networks (PANs) interconnect personal devices to communicate within 10 meters, typically using wireless technology. Network nodes are active electronic devices attached to a network. Local area networks (LANs) interconnect computers within a limited area like a school or building. Every network interface has a unique 48-bit MAC address and IP address to identify it on the internet or network. Hubs, switches, and routers connect devices but routers can examine link layer addresses and connect different networks or subnetworks.

(1)What is data communication.? , What is network.?
Data communications refers to the transmission of this
digital data between two or more computers and a computer
network or data network is a telecommunications network that
allows computers to exchange data.
A network consists of two or more computers that are linked in
order to share resources.
2. (2) What is the different between by data communication &
network.?
Ans: Data Communication deals with the communicating
process across different regions and through different process
whereas Computer Networking transfers information, files
across different localities to communicate data along with it.
(3)What is personal area network.?(PAN)
Personal Area Network (PAN): It is an interconnection
of personal technology devices to communicate over a short
distance, which is less than 33 feet or 10 meters or within the
range of an individual person, typically using some form of
wireless technologies.
(4)What is node.?
In data communication, a node is any active, physical, electronic
device attached to a network.
(5)what is local area network?(LAN)
A local area network (LAN) is a computer network that
interconnects computers within a limited area such as a
residence, school, laboratory, university campus
(6)What is MAC address.?
Every Computer’s has a unique address that is MAC address.
3. (7)What is network NIC.?
A network interface card (NIC) is a hardware component without
which a computer cannot be connected over a network.
(8)What is IP address.?
An IP address is a unique address that identifies a device on the
internet or a local network.
(9)Types Of Address.
There Are mainly two types of address.
(i)Physical (ii)Logical.
(10)What is port.?
In computer networking, a port is a communication endpoint.
(11)Hub, Switch, Router.
A network hub is a device that allows multiple computers to
communicate with each other over a network.
A switch is a device in a computer network that connects other
devices together.
A router is a device that connects two or more packet-switched
networks or sub networks.
(12) HUB
Hub Can’t know address.
4. (13)What is switch.?
A switch can can detect MAC address.
(14)MAC address in 48 bit.
A MAC address also known as a media access
control address is a unique 48 bit number identifier assigned to
network interfaces. Every piece of hardware with a ethernet,
bluetooth or wireless interface has this unique 48 bit number to
identify it.
(15)What is Bit & Byte.?
These are binary digits, or bits for short. Single bits are too small
to be much use, so they are grouped together into units of 8 bits.
Each 8-bit unit is called a byte.
(16)Router.
Mac Address and IP address detected.
(17)What is difference between hub, switch ,router.,
bridge ,and Repeater.?
Hubs differ from repeaters in that they do not boost the incoming
signals and are designed for multiple input lines, but
the differences are slight. Like repeaters, hubs are physical
layer devices that do not examine the link layer addresses or use
them in any way. It is not an intelligent device.
(18)What is Bridge.?
A Bridge is another device used to connect LAN cable segments
together.
5. (19) What is Repeater.?
A repeater is an electronic device in a communication channel
that increases the power of a signal and retransmits it, allowing it
to travel further.
(20) What is IP.?
An IP address is a unique address that identifies a device on the
internet or a local network.
