Who will this idea appeal to? Target audience This idea is about financial matters at university or other further education. For example tuition fees living costs and other payments necessary. This idea came from an interest in the topic as it is relevant to me as I will be applying to universities next year and want to know more about living and paying for university. We can use the figures of how much university fees are which can be used to shock and draw in the viewer. We could also show the living expenses and the average wage or money a student will have. For example the average tuition fee is around 50,000. Also that the minimum wage is £4.50. The telegraph made a similar video interviewing the public about what they thought of the costs of university. They then presented the true figures. Another company that I can research is Southampton university as they provide information on all the possible costs of university. This will appeal to the target audience as they will be applying for university in a few years and will be setting up accounts and getting financial advice. This idea will appeal to people in 6th form or college who are thinking about applying to university or university. Who will this idea appeal to? Target audience This idea is about setting up a bank account or getting a debit card. The video will be an infomercial about setting up a bank account. With dramatizations of going to a bank and setting it up. I have a debit card and a bank account myself and find it extremely useful. Also a lot of people do not know how their bank account works and even if they set it up themselves there are still a lot of hidden information. The telegraph did a video on financial matters and young people. They found that 95% of young people didn’t know what debit meant even if they owned a debit card themselves. The CII (chartered insurance institute) found that 51% of students think debt is just something everyone has to go through at some point. Barclays money skills is a detailed site about financial issues for young to middle aged people. They cover a wide range of money issues such as setting up a ban k. He video will have interviews, dramatizations and tutorials . The video will be appropriate for the target audience with a young presenter and comedic elements. The video will include interviews with the public about how much they know. There will be facts and statistics throughout. My brother was offered a grant for university if he achieved certain grades. I hadn’t really heard about people receiving financial help in going to university and thought that more people should be aware of scholarships . The government allocates 50m for scholarship programs. The nsp was set up to help disadvantaged youths get into higher education.
