This document describes a new drainage device called "DACRYOSTREAM" for lacrimal surgery developed by the Ufa Eye Research Institute. The device aims to significantly reduce recurrence rates after surgical treatment for dacryocystitis. It is a hollow silicone tube implanted with a plastic injector that allows for long-term drainage over a year without needing repeat surgery. Initial experimental and clinical studies show promising results, with the device being well-tolerated and effective in reducing recurrence in 25 patients. Further histological and commercialization studies are needed, for which the inventors are seeking investment.
