 On December 2011 wireline Weatherford base at
Yopal Casanare (Colombia) opened, to help solve
quality issues regarding performance on field service
and laboratory technical maintenance
 - I was selected as Operations Manager for the Base
 The Team was selected among new hired engineers
and new hired operators.
 Only 3 people form the team had experience on the
field and helped with the quality improvement plan.
 Improvement Plan consisted of:
 Proper training to new hires ( Senior engineers were
assigned to the new hires)
 Briefings and debriefings before and after each job to
discuss any possible problems.
 Weekly technical meetings to ensure updates regarding
service or failures on site jobs were discuss and known
by everybody.
 Monthly assestments to random engineers to ensure
technical knowledge.
 Root Cause Analysis Discussion if failure at site, and
proper closure to avoid repetion.
 After one year Service was improve having a 96% of
operation efficiency over the 30% over the years
before.
 Results:
 Operation satisfaction by client reasure contract for the
nex year
 Operation quality and confidence among engineers was
regained
 Field operation profit increased over 25% making the
base the most profitable by end 2012.
 The IE Master Degree can help me understand better
metrics needed to be asses on situations like this.
