2. Kabisera
The movie Kabisera, was all about a fisherman who saw a box containing drugs. Because of the influence of the people around him, including his close friend Jose, he was convinced to sell them in their town. And also by the influence of other people, his desire to be rich and powerful was triggered to be successful and achieve what he wants.
The first scene that I have identified was when Andres really wanted to be rich, for him to have the power to convince his family to be live together again. For me it shows the Attribution Theory. This theory explains the causes of people’s behavior or why they behave the way they do. It shows there that he’ll do anything just to win his family back. Even if it requires him to kill a person, including his longtime friend Jose and the fiancé of his daughter Ana, he still pursued his business with drugs and many other illegal ways just to have the richness that he wanted for a long time. Because of Andres’ greediness, he ends up just making himself happy and satisfied with all the things that he wanted without considering the feelings of the members of his family.
For the second scene and second theory, I chose the Elaborative Likelihood Model, which explains the scene where Andres was deciding if he is going to kill Jose or not. He rely on the central route because after deciding for a couple of minutes where he thought of all the things that happened before, and what are the possible things that may happen ahead, he chose to kill his longtime friend. He decided to do that because he thought that Jose will just be a hindrance for his dreams, such as the greater money that he will obtain if Jose dies. And he also thought that Jose is a traitor to him.
For the last theory, I chose the Interpersonal Deception Theory, which explains the part where Kulot, a drug pusher, denied that he complained to the PDEA about the drugs that is being sold by Jose, Andres and Pablo in their place. But the truth is that Andres already saw him talking with the PDEA. And as a consequence of his untruthfulness, they killed him.

3. Blue Bustamante
Blue Bustamante was a comedy, but also a family oriented movie. It shows why a lot of parent sacrifices working abroad, away from their family, just to give them their needs and also a preparation for the better future of their family.
The first scene and the first theory that I have chose the relationship of George and Ramon when they’re in Japan. The Uncertainty Reduction Theory explains it. They started being a stranger to each other. They just knew each other in Japan because of their work. At first, George has a hesitation with Ramon because he is so talkative and making things that he was uncomfortable with. But as time goes by, they knew details about the life of each other whenever they talked about something. Ramon helped George to find for a new job. He always convinces George to work in the Force Five show and play the role of Blue Force. And George became Ramon’s good friend. He even admitted that the story he said before that he already have a family was not true. From strangers, they became buddies at work and pals in their life in Japan.
For the second scene and theory, Reinforcement Theory explained the part where George’s insight about his job playing the role of Blue Force, was changed when he knew that it was his son’s favorite character and Force Five was his favorite show. Upon knowing that, he became happy with his job and performed great every time they shoot. He always gives his best and even the director noticed his improvement. And that was for his son. He will give and do everything just to make his son happy.
For the last, I chose the scene where George lied to his family about what happened to him in Japan. And that was explained by the Interpersonal Deception Theory. He did not tell immediately to his wife that his work was not being an engineer in Japan, but an artist who play the role of Blue Force in the Force Five show. Every person in his family, including his in-laws and son knew that his job was an engineer and hopeful for him. He was ashamed of this job that he got. He was scared that his son might be also ashamed if he knew that his father’s job was an artist but not an engineer.

4. Shift
The movie Shift was very remarkable and memorable to me because of its concept. As the story of the movie said, you’ll never know and you cannot choose who you are going to fall in love with.
The first scene and theory that I identified, the part where Trevor and Estela first work and meet each other up to the time where Estela developed a feeling with Trevor, was explained by the Social Penetration Theory. They were on a team together and they even after work, they talked about anything about themselves. Through that, they have known each other more deeply. They became very good friends and shared different stories of their lives. As the communication and relationship grew more genuinely between the two of them, Estela developed a feeling with Trevor, she’s in love with Trevor. Even if Trevor is a gay, she thinks that it’s still possible for them to be together. But it’s not clear if Trevor also sees Estela in that way because he has a boyfriend. What is clear was that Trevor treats Estela a special person in his life.
The second scene that identified was when Estela admitted to Trevor that she loves him, but there was no response or no reaction from Trevor and she was hurt by this feeling. Expectancy Violation Theory explains it. What may be she was expecting is that Trevor will just say anything that corresponds to what Estela confessed but there is none. Estela got hurt by what happened as she confessed to Trevor. What she expects to happen does not link to what really happened.
In the last scene that I have identified, I chose the part where Estela became Trevor’s partner in the anniversary party of their company and dressed up like a lesbian. After that, she decided to reveal to Trevor his true feelings. For me it was explained by the Cognitive Dissonance Theory. Even if Estela knows that Trevor is a gay and that their gender preference was not the same, she still chose to open up her feelings. Even if she was hurt, at least she had tried to confess her feeling. The consequence may be either Trevor will change his mind regarding his identity or she may be ‘basted’. But in the end, she accepted the consequence of being broken hearted after getting no response from Trevor and thinks that her love was also another dream like her dream jobs.

5. Ganito Kami Noon, Paano Kayo Ngayon
The message Ganito kami noon, Paano kayo ngayon tries to present in the movie what should we do to be able to make difference and transformations from each generation. From the generation of the father of Diding up to the generation of Kulas, it shows the differences in the way and how they lived. It gives us advises through showing what are the situations before to solve the problems that our country and also our citizenship is facing in the future or even at present. How are we going to change the appearance, personality and dignity of being a Filipino after being colonized by the Spaniards and Americans. It’s also trying to say that we should improve our confidence in giving an identity to our nationality and rights as a Filipino. It tells us that we should have learned from what happened from the past because through that, we will have an idea what kind of life and how are we going to face the circumstances that awaits for us.
The movie represents the Filipino people by showing our way of living before. How we are treated by the Spaniards and Americans when they colonized us. It also shows that before, even the Filipino themselves, they do not know their citizenship or they have no knowledge about their nationality. Being a Filipino by that time means that you are not educated and poor. The identity of being a Filipino was also not clear to them. They just accepted the label that was given to them by the persons from the one who rules in the country. Filipinos by that time have a low compliance in themselves because they were just treated as slaves and that’s the reason why they didn’t have any knowledge who are they and what’s really their role here in our own country.
The theory that I think that was portrayed in the movie was the Attribution Theory. It says that it tries to explain what are the causes of the people’s behavior and why they behave in that way. In the movie, Filipinos doesn’t know about what their true identity is. They just go with the flow on how they live since they were born. From what their parents do up to them, it has been just also the same. They just follow the rules and the commands that were given to them by the higher authority. And that was because all that they know was we are under the power of the Spaniards and Americans. The classifications for being a Filipino was not clear for everyone since they are uneducated. And that corresponds to the actions that they done and the information that they know.
