CAPABILITIES:
In his start of professional career Mr. Feran joined one of the leading consulting
conglomerates namely Dar AI-Handasah Consultants in 1985 . He had been responsible
for the design and supervision of infrastructure utilities, including storm water drainage,
water supply and sewerage systems for a variety of projects, comprising buildings,
hospitals, housing, roads and various planning projects in Turkey, the CIS countries
,Africa and the Middle East. As a Resident Engineer with NATO Infrastructure
Department in East Anatolia (Turkey), he further contributed to the design and
construction supervision of water supply projects involving surface water intakes, wells,
reservoirs, pipelines, supply channels and relevant utilities.
Being a Drainage/Hydrological Engineer also carried out surface and underground water-
related design studies for a considerable number of transportation projects in Turkey
more than a 500-km component of the Trans European Motorway as well as for other
major transportation/infrastructure projects in 13 countries including some major water
supply studies.
Later on, Mr. Feran also carried out various infrastructure designs for urban and new
housing areas in homeland Turkey and overseas, including the preparation of
specifications and tender documents for water supply, sewerage and drainage
infrastructure components till the tender stage including contract negotiations. In his
carrier Parsons Brinckerhoff, NATO, T.Y.Lin were some of the employers in his
professional career while now serving for Euro Consult as a senior Consultant.
He has acquired valuable knowledge in water resources and supply systems of the South
Mediterranean basins through his involvement in Metropolitan Region Urban
Development Projects from inception till tendering stages. Later on such experience was
reinforced on the managerial level for national infrastructural masterplans in Gulf Areas.
His experience as a Hydraulics Engineer encompassed the design of all hydraulic and
hydrological systems for the 400 km.s part of the Trans European Motorway.
He is particularly acquainted with the British, American, Russian, Gulf Countries & KSA
besides Turkish infrastructural standards and design codes; in addition to the application
of CAD / GIS techniques while his experience mainly covers the whole range of design
activities, including planning, feasibility studies, detailed engineering designs, preparation
of tender documents besides the Environmental Impact Studies.
His design and construction supervision experiences gained in various projects / various
countries reinforced the capabilities of verifying the Project and Client needs thoroughly
that yields for feasible solutions especially in large scale/fast-track projects. Many of such
project involvements were financed by international funding agencies, including EBRD,
EIB, SFD, World Bank, ADb, OPEC, KFAED, ISdB and others.Mr. Feran's combined
knowledge and experience in wet infrastructure system design, coordination with other
trades on the design of infrastructure systems from concept stage to detailed design, as
well as his experience in hydrology, geology and environmental assessment, backed-up
by a considerable design experience in multi-disciplinary projects, highly contributes in

The scope of the project includes alignment selection, preliminary and final designs, in
addition to the preparation of the tender documents for entire length of the road with
about 70 km 4-lane dual carriageway and 9 grade separated interchanges, 12 road
crossing bridges; 9 wadi bridges, 2 vehicular crossing; and 3 camel crossings.
Riyadh Region, Main & Secondary Road Projects,
The project comprises of alignment selection, preliminary and final design studies,
preparation of BOQ.s and tender documents for a 500 km.s long main and secondary
road network including interchange/wadi bridges, drainage systems, lighting and traffic
marking studies.
Qassim/Madinah/Yanbu Expressway,
The scope of works comprises the preliminary and final design of 20 grade separated
interchanges, 4 Camel crossing, 115 km of dual carriageway access road along the
existing Qassim-Madinah-Yanbu-Rabigh Expressway.

The scope of the project includes studies for the preliminary and final design in addtion to

Responsible for overseeing the design of wet infrastructure utilities, including

Motor World Infrastructure, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Master plan,
infrastructure design and supervision of construction for a 350 ha automotive park,
mixed-use, residential development for a population of 45,000. The land-use consists of
commercial (predominantly automotive) zone (100 ha , residential zone (75 ha, a central
commercial strip (60 ha, and 115 ha of road networks and landscaping. The central
commercial strip and local community facilities have a built-up area of 627,000 m2.
Comprehensive Infrastructure Master Plan Lekki Sub-Region, Lagos State, Nigeria.
Updating of the land-use master plan; design of roads linking the developments within the
area; development of the existing coastal road; alignment design for a future light rail;
preparation of environmental planning guidelines; estimation of water demands for the
following 20 years; and elaboration of master plans for water supply, wastewater

the dualling of Bidbid to Masroon Junction (120 km), including all drainage structures
Princess Nora Bin Abdulrahman University (PNBAU) · Infrastructure Works, Saudi
Arabia. Design and supervision of construction for a university compound (total built-up
area of 2.7 million m2) to accommodate 40,000 students, and 30,000 staff members and

Taif Ring Road, Saudi Arabia. Detailed design for a 17 km 8-lane dual carriageway
bypassing Taif City Centre, and servicing the city centre, surrounding areas, and several
developed and under developed areas via a series of primary and secondary arterials
connecting to this main expressway by grade separated interchanges. Works also
comprise the upgrading of an existing two-leg junction to full cloverleaf arrangement. the
construction of 2 cloverleaf interchanges and a 200 m wadi bridge in addition to all
drainage and infrastructure systems.
New Highway Roads in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Corridor selection, and preliminary and
detailed designs for the following project components: Kharj - Ouayiyah Road, Southern
Extension of Forousiyah Tunnel to Thumamah Road, Kharj Eastern Link, upgrading of
Interchange 14 along Riyadh Ring Road, Hariq - Hair Hawtah Road Link, Thumamah
Road to Riyadh - Oassim Expressway Link, upgrading of Oiyrab Entrance to Riyadh,
Towaiq to Riyadh – Oassim Expressway Link, and upgrading of the 36 km long Hawtat
Bani Tamim - Hariq Single Road to a 2-lane dual carriageway. The project comprised the
rehabilitation/addition of several bridges, interchanges (of various types), at-grade
intersections, camel and railway crossings.
Autoroute Est-Ouest - East Lot: Pre-Construction Services, Detailed Design
Levelling , Execution Drawings Algeria. Reconnaissance site visits, preparation of
unified design criteria, environmental impact assessment, review of existing designs,
detailed site surveys and geotechnical investigations, and preparation of construction
documents and bills of quantities for a 235 km of dual 3-lane loll motorway, comprising
viaducts, bridges, tunnels, overpasses, underpasses. and 450 drainage culverts. Tasks
also comprised 2-D hydrodynamic modeling for the rivers at the bridge crossings.
Sewerage and Stormwater Drainage Networks Extension, Eskisehir, Turkey. Review
of existing conditions, review and updating of design documents, preparation of tender
documents (tender drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, general and special
conditions, etc.), and supervision of construction for the extension of the sewerage
network to a total length of 88 km and the storm water drainage network 10 a total length
of 16 km. The existing networks serve a population of 420,000 (84% of the present
population) and cover an area of 5,400 ha (74% of the developed area). The project was
financed by EIB.
Zango Infrastructure, Angola. Urban master plan, final design, tender documents, and
construction supervision for all building and infrastructure utilities for a new town of
16,000 low- and medium-cost housing units (intended to resettle displaced local
populations of 150,000) on an area of 1,100 ha located 60 km south east of Luanda.
Project components are mainly 3 types of apartment buildings of 3, 4 and 5 storeys each,
roads and parking areas, site grading, drainage, water supply/distribution, wastewater
collection/treatment, electricity distribution, street lighting, and telecommunication
networks. The study also comprised water demand forecasts till 2025.
Velvelchay - Takhtakorpu Canal, Azerbaijan. Topographic surveys and mapping,
geotechnical and hydrological surveys, detailed design, tender documents and
supervision for a new concrete-lined canal that lakes off from Velvelchay River at 50 km
downstream the head works of the existing Samur - Absheron Canal (SAC) to a new
reservoir in Takhtakorpu settlement with a total length of 42 km and a capacity of 80 m'/s
of potable and irrigation waters. Works comprise various structures along the canal,
including 7 inverted siphons that cross valleys exceeding 110 m in depth and 800 m in
width (some siphons have a total length of 1,340 m and are composed of a 2 pipeline
mains with a diameter of 3,400 mm), culverts, pipe crossings, a vehicular road, vehicular
and pedestrian bridges, etc. 3-D Computational Fluid Modelling (CFD) was used for the
design while the project was financed by IsDB, SFD. OPEC.

University of Central Asia (UCA) - Kazakhstan. Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan
Campuses. Infrastructure Project in Central Asia including design and preparation of
tender and construction documents for residential, non-residential and activity buildings
with respective total built-up areas of 84.800 m2 (Tekeli campus, Kazakhstan with a
student enrolment of 1100 , Naryn campus, Kyrgyzstan with a student enrolment of 1,100
and Khorog campus, Tajikistan with a student enrolment of 1200) including all
infrastructure utilities. Infrastructure systems comprise road networks with marking and
signing schemes as well as all retaining and drainage structures; water supply and fire-
fighting networks, booster stations and water reservoirs; wastewater collection networks,
pumping stations, treatment and disposal; storm water drainage network and disposal;
Irrigation network, water storage and booster stations; district heating system; power
generation and distribution, street lighting and telecommunication systems; landscape
civil works; helipads; and service buildings accommodating the various plants, pumping
stations, weather stations.
Detailed Design for North Road, Qatar. Preliminary and detailed design, and tender
documents of the upgrading of the following freeways to a dual 4-lane structure as well
as for all associated works: North Road (98 km) linking Doha and Madinat AI Shama
Ruwais on the north coast; AI Zubara Road (35 km) forming the main approach to the
Qatar – Bahrain Causeway; and Simaisma Road (8 km) linking North Road to a rapidly
developing area on the east coast. Works involved all highway facilities, landscaping and
infrastructure utilities (irrigation, water mains, drainage, sewerage, treated sewage
effluent mains, etc.), and ducting for a future Intelligent Transportation System.
Extension of King Khaled Road - Tunnel No. 1, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. Planning,
design, and preparation of construction drawings for one twin-tube tunnel with a length of
830 m: 32 m wide 350 m long two-way roadway (including alignment study) at the
entrance and exit of the tunnel; relocation works for existing camps and infrastructure
utilities; and related electromechanical installations and drainage works. The tunnel
connects King Khaled Bridge to EI Shoeib Elgharby Area.
Extension of King Khaled Road - Tunnel No. 2, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. Planning,
design, and preparation of construction drawings for one twin-tube tunnel with a length of
630 m; 32 m wide 430 m long two-way roadway (including alignment study) at the
entrance and exit of the tunnel; 210 m retaining walls with heights between 3 m and 5 m;
relocation works for existing camps and infrastructure utilities; and related
electromechanical installations and drainage works.
The Canal Project in Ashgabat. Turkmenistan. Design of 3,795 m. U-shape concrete
channel, including landscaping of a 40 m wide strip along the channel. Works comprised
pedestrian bridges, design of a 30 m wide 30 m long bridge and irrigation and
electromechanical works for the landscaped area.
Supervision of Karaganda - Astana Road, Kazakhstan. Review of tender documents
and supervision of the rehabilitation and upgrading of 184 km of the road, including a 47-
km dual carriageway. Works comprised cold milling and reinstatement of pavement
rutting, widening and preparation of the existing pavement. polymer asphalt works.
complete reconstruction of existing pavement, raising shoulders, earthworks,
rehabilitation of existing 12 bridges and culverts, construction of 2 new bridges, traffic

Design of Arcabil- Sayolu Highway, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. Final design and
hydrologic surveys for a 14 km, 3-lane dual carriageway passing through urban and
suburban areas and including 4 grade separated interchanges, two 4-span post-
tensioned concrete bridges (30 m span), 2 at-grade intersections, service roads on each
side of the main highway and complete drainage system.
Karamursel Housing Project, Turkey. Design review and supervision of construction
for 554 housing units with all related infrastructure facilities in addition to a SO-shop
commercial centre. The housing units consist of 99 ml, 3-bedroom apartments, in 37
building blocks. Infrastructure works consist of road, storm water drainage, sewerage,
water supply, natural gas, electricity and telephone networks, and landscaping works.
The project was financed by EIB.
Mersin - Cesmeli Motorway, Turkey. Preliminary and final designs, geotechnical and
hydrological surveys, and technical assistance during construction of an 11-km, dual
3·lane motorway, including 5 km access roads, 3 grade-separated interchanges, 6
channelized at..grade intersections, 2 motorway bridges, 10 overpasses, 7 underpasses,
2 toll areas and 74 box culverts. Duties also comprised review of the site investigation
programme, preparation of geotechnical reports for the earthworks and foundations
recommendations.
Damaturu Dam and Water Supply Project, Nigeria. Planning and design for a
complete water supply system to serve a total population of 150,000. The system
consists of a dam With a holding capacity of 85 MM, water treatment plant with a design
capacity of 18,000 m3/day and a water distribution system to serve the city till the year
2030 (280 km of pipelines with diameters up to 700 mm) The study included preparation of
a preliminary environmental assessment, hydrogeological and geophysical investigations
to confirm potential aquifers, design of various alternatives for water resources
development, allocation and transfer. The resources development alternatives
encompassed conjunctive use of groundwater and surface water resources.
Western Wall and Passage / Garden of Forgiveness at Beirut Central
District,Lebanon. Design and supervision of construction of a reinforced concrete wall
forming the edge of the archaeological site of the "Garden of Forgiveness· and holding a
6 m wide, 250 m long pedestrian passage. Works also included storm water drainage
and outdoor electrical lighting systems.
Viana · Camama Road, Angola. Flood estimation in urban areas crossed by the
highway, using GIS/RS techniques as well as hydrological models. The project also
includes the design of special protection structures.
Zigar - Khostav - Shkev Highway, Tajikistan. Topographic surveys. design and
construction supervision of a 40 km long road with a total width of 12 m (7 m carriageway
and 2.5 m wide shoulders on each side) in a mountainous and very complicated terrain.
Works comprised 1.6 million m' of excavation (65% of which in rock); 1.3 million cu.m of
embankment construction; 7 bridges with a maximum span of 34 m and a total length of
240 m (including river bed training); reinforced concrete retaining walls and gabion walls
as well as slope protection works for both cut and fill slopes; complete drainage scheme
with side channels including scour checks and 168 culverts of various dimensions;
pavement layers of sub base, aggregate base course. and bituminous wearing course
layer; and road safety features (signs, delineators, road marking. guardrails, and masonry
barriers). The project was financed by FADE, SAD, and OPEC.

the existing. Single lane. 53-km state highway, including mapping, geotechnical

Ortakoy · Golcuk Motorway, Turkey. Reconnaissance, alignment study, geotechnical
studies and 1/50.000 scale preliminary design (including drainage design) for a 96 km
dual 3-lane motorway with full shoulders, toll, parking and service areas, 2 grade-
separated interchanges, 62 overpasses and underpasses, and 65 drainage culverts as
part of Ankara – Pozanti MotorWay.
Torbali - Kiraz Road. Turkey. Hydrological and geotechnical investigations, design and
tender documents for the improvement, upgrading and rehabilitation of 92 km of state
road, including strip mapping and geological surveys.

Additional Design Works for Tarsus - Mersin Motorway, Turkey. Design and
construction documents for a 10-km, dual, 3-lane motorway, comprising 11 box culverts,
3 viaducts, 4 curved bridges and one overpass.
Bursa Ring Road. Turkey. Socio-economic analysis, financial and economic evaluation.
Traffic projections, Design and tender documents for a 62 km motorway (passing through
a seismic zone), with 11 -grade-separated interchanges, 2 twin-tube tunnels (1 ,200 and
500 m in length), 5 viaducts, 125 box culverts, 9 overpasses. 31 underpasses. 5
motorway bridges, 6 river bridges. and parking, service. maintenance and toll areas.
Works included storm water drainage, landscaping, lighting and safety features.
ALOR Housing Development, Turkey. Design review. construction management and
supervision. and technical assistance during construction for a residential project,
comprising 194 high-quality detached villas with complete infrastructure (roads, power,
telecommunications, water supply, firefighting, sewerage, storm water drainage,
landscaping and irrigation systems) and recreational facilities on a 6.5 ha site.
Construction Supervision for Adana Housing, Turkey. Contract review, design
review, redesign, construction supervision and management for 170 blocks of flats (out of
400 blocks) to provide housing for earthquake victims. This fast-track project, completed
in a 9-month period, consisted of 3,600 flats. Construction supervision of the
infrastructure facilities for the 400 blocks, consisting of more than 5 km of traffic and
pedestrian roads. sewerage, drainage, storm water drainage, water supply, fire-fighting,
medium voltage electrical network, telephone network and street lighting. The project was
financed by IBRO.
Supervision of Housing Reconstruction, Golcuk and Karamursel, Turkey. Contract
and design review, redesign, supervision of construction and project management for
3,568 housing units in blocks of 7 different types with a total built-up area of 300,000 m2.
Works comprised housing units, roads and sewerage, drainage, water supply. electrical,
telephone, gas and heating networks. The project was financed by IBRD.
Khostav - Shkev Road, Feasibility Study. Tajikistan. Techno-economic feasibility
study and design document update for a 37.5 km road section to provide an all-year link
between Dushanbe and the south-east region, solving the problem of traffic diversion
through Uzbekistan and Kyrgyz during autumn to spring due to high snow cover and
avalanches in the existing road. Study involved data collection and analysis for
background review, site reconnaissance to identify road corridor characteristics, soil
investigations and testing, geological/geotechnical studies. and hydrological studies and

analysis. Design update included alignment adjustment to minimize the adverse effect of
the flooding resulting from the river and its crossing streams, tunneling, and extensive
retaining measures. The project was financed by KFAED.
Jalal Abad - Uzgen Road, Kyrgyzstan. Tender documents, tendering and supervision
of rehabilitation works for two roads of 10 and 43 km in mountainous terrain. Works also
included 3 bridges (2 of 50 m and 1 of 250 m), and the rehabilitation of the drainage
structures along the motorways. Financed by IsDB.
Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Responsible for the design, supervision of construction and preparation of specification
and tender documents for water-related utilities, comprising storm water drainage.
sewerage and water supply relevant to the following project:
Beirut Northern Suburbs Infrastructure, Lebanon. Design, project management and
supervision of construction for the upgrading of the congested 1,200 ha area, serving a
population of 400.000. including water supply, sewerage, pipe jacking and micro-
tunneling for major road intersections, drainage networks with several sea outfalls; bridge
construction and slope protection of coastal roads; power and telecommunication
networks as well as pumping stations, roads, street lighting and furniture.
The Competitive Tender for Istanbul Olympic Stadium, Turkey. Coordination for the
preparation of preliminary plans and 3-D animations for the Olympic Stadium including
architectural, civil, transportation and electrical/mechanical trades. The stadium has a
maximum capacity of 80.000 and the design was according to the Olympic standarts.The
consortium won the first seat in technical points in that competitive tender.

with other disciplines, and preparation of specifications. bills of quantities and other
technical documents, for the following projects:
Bursa - Bilecik Highway, Turkey. Design and construction documents for the
improvement and rehabilitation of a 75 km highway, including dualled urban section and
2 river bridges. The project included hydrological study and design of the storm water
drainage network and culverts.
Upgrading of Erzurum - Ispir Road, Turkey. Design and construction documents for a
70 km single-carriageway road, including hydrological study and design of the storm
water drainage system and culverts.
Pozanti - Tarsus Toll Motorway, Turkey. Hydrological surveys and design for the storm
water drainage of a 15 km motorway including 3 interchanges, 15 overpasses, 4 river
bridges and 5 culverts of various sizes.
Tarsus - Mersin Toll Motorway, Turkey. Hydrological surveys, design and construction

With Dar – Al Handasah , Cukurova Metropolitan Region Urban Development
Project, Turkey. Identification of ground and surface water resources , planning and
design of water supply, storm water drainage, sewerage and industrial waste
management, as part of a long-term urban growth strategy for a rapidly growing region
selling the context for urban development projects in its 5 major municipalities: Adana,
Ceyhan, Iskenderun, Mersin and Tarsus, with a projected population totaling 3.6 million
by the year 2000 (and individual population of 70,000 to 700,000), with water demands of
8,500 - 85,000 m3/day (1,800 km of water supply network with diameters up to 1,200 mm).
Design for the expansion of the existing water treatment plant from 130.000 to 260,000
m3/day. The solid waste management component included the design of collection and
transport layouts, design of transfer stations and sanitary landfill sites for each of the 5
municipalities. The project further covered urban management, technical services and
comprehensive infrastructure, development and housing strategy, selection of projects for
immediate and long-term implementation, and institutional/management reorganization

The existing networks serve a population of 420,000 (84% of the present population) and cover an area of 5,400 ha (74% of the developed area). The project was financed by EIB. Zango Infrastructure, Angola. Urban master plan, final design, tender documents, and construction supervision for all building and infrastructure utilities for a new town of 16,000 low- and medium-cost housing units (intended to resettle displaced local populations of 150,000) on an area of 1,100 ha located 60 km south east of Luanda. Project components are mainly 3 types of apartment buildings of 3, 4 and 5 storeys each, roads and parking areas, site grading, drainage, water supply/distribution, wastewater collection/treatment, electricity distribution, street lighting, and telecommunication networks. The study also comprised water demand forecasts till 2025. Velvelchay - Takhtakorpu Canal, Azerbaijan. Topographic surveys and mapping, geotechnical and hydrological surveys, detailed design, tender documents and supervision for a new concrete-lined canal that lakes off from Velvelchay River at 50 km downstream the head works of the existing Samur - Absheron Canal (SAC) to a new reservoir in Takhtakorpu settlement with a total length of 42 km and a capacity of 80 m'/s of potable and irrigation waters. Karamursel Housing Project, Turkey. Design review and supervision of construction for 554 housing units with all related infrastructure facilities in addition to a SO-shop commercial centre. The housing units consist of 99 ml, 3-bedroom apartments, in 37 building blocks. Infrastructure works consist of road, storm water drainage, sewerage, water supply, natural gas, electricity and telephone networks, and landscaping works. The project was financed by EIB. Mersin - Cesmeli Motorway, Turkey. Preliminary and final designs, geotechnical and hydrological surveys, and technical assistance during construction of an 11-km, dual 3·lane motorway, including 5 km access roads, 3 grade-separated interchanges, 6 channelized at..grade intersections, 2 motorway bridges, 10 overpasses, 7 underpasses, 2 toll areas and 74 box culverts. Duties also comprised review of the site investigation programme, preparation of geotechnical reports for the earthworks and foundations recommendations. Damaturu Dam and Water Supply Project, Nigeria. Planning and design for a complete water supply system to serve a total population of 150,000. The system consists of a dam With a holding capacity of 85 MM, water treatment plant with a design capacity of 18,000 m3/day and a water distribution system to serve the city till the year 2030 (280 km of pipelines with diameters up to 700 mm) The study included preparation of a preliminary environmental assessment, hydrogeological and geophysical investigations to confirm potential aquifers, design of various alternatives for water resources development, allocation and transfer. The resources development alternatives encompassed conjunctive use of groundwater and surface water resources. Western Wall and Passage / Garden of Forgiveness at Beirut Central District,Lebanon. Design and supervision of construction of a reinforced concrete wall forming the edge of the archaeological site of the "Garden of Forgiveness· and holding a 6 m wide, 250 m long pedestrian passage. Works also included storm water drainage and outdoor electrical lighting systems. Viana · Camama Road, Angola. Flood estimation in urban areas crossed by the highway, using GIS/RS techniques as well as hydrological models. The project also includes the design of special protection structures. Zigar - Khostav - Shkev Highway, Tajikistan. Topographic surveys. design and construction supervision of a 40 km long road with a total width of 12 m (7 m carriageway and 2.5 m wide shoulders on each side) in a mountainous and very complicated terrain. Works comprised 1.6 million m' of excavation (65% of which in rock); 1.3 million cu.m of embankment construction; 7 bridges with a maximum span of 34 m and a total length of 240 m (including river bed training); reinforced concrete retaining walls and gabion walls as well as slope protection works for both cut and fill slopes; complete drainage scheme with side channels including scour checks and 168 culverts of various dimensions; pavement layers of sub base, aggregate base course. and bituminous wearing course layer; and road safety features (signs, delineators, road marking. guardrails, and masonry barriers). Construction Supervision for Adana Housing, Turkey. Contract review, design review, redesign, construction supervision and management for 170 blocks of flats (out of 400 blocks) to provide housing for earthquake victims. This fast-track project, completed in a 9-month period, consisted of 3,600 flats. Hydrological surveys and design for the storm water drainage of a 15 km motorway including 3 interchanges, 15 overpasses, 4 river bridges and 5 culverts of various sizes. Hydrological surveys, design and construction documents for the storm water drainage of a 74 km motorway and link roads, 49 bridges (including 3 railway bridges), and 154 box-culverts of various sizes.

Studies include preparation of tender documents, construction supervision and payment certification of 15 water supply projects, each serving approximately a population of 1,000. (1985 – 1986) With Dar – Al Handasah , Cukurova Metropolitan Region Urban Development Project, Turkey. Identification of ground and surface water resources , planning and design of water supply, storm water drainage, sewerage and industrial waste management, as part of a long-term urban growth strategy for a rapidly growing region selling the context for urban development projects in its 5 major municipalities: Adana, Ceyhan, Iskenderun, Mersin and Tarsus, with a projected population totaling 3.6 million by the year 2000 (and individual population of 70,000 to 700,000), with water demands of 8,500 - 85,000 m3/day (1,800 km of water supply network with diameters up to 1,200 mm). Design for the expansion of the existing water treatment plant from 130.000 to 260,000 m3/day. The solid waste management component included the design of collection and transport layouts, design of transfer stations and sanitary landfill sites for each of the 5 municipalities. The project further covered urban management, technical services and comprehensive infrastructure, development and housing strategy, selection of projects for immediate and long-term implementation, and institutional/management reorganization and development. The project was financed by IBRD.
