During the past 30 years in her present role as an international trainer and developer, Audrey Davies has used her previous
considerable managerial experience and expertise as a bank manager and Deputy Head of Management Training for a major British
bank’s worldwide operations to train, develop, coach, and counsel 1000’s of people across the world.
Whilst cutting her teeth many years go through her own Bank’s excellent in-house management development training programmes,
Audrey developed the ability to design, manage and present a wide range of training courses. In addition, she was invited by the
bankers’ professional body – the Chartered Institute of Bankers (now ifs) - to become the first Chief Examiner for a new international
qualification: “UK Lending and International Business”. In that role, she authored the definitive textbook for the subject, and set and
marked several years’ international examinations.
Enjoying the challenges of developing others and making a difference, Audrey then decided to launch her own training business,
rather than return to branch banking in London. Running her own business gave her the freedom and opportunities to design and
deliver training programmes across the world, most notably for banks in those countries in Central and Eastern European countries
just emerging from the communist Eastern Bloc, plus others in Africa and the Middle East.
Her roles and assignments have included the management of multi-million dollar projects in several countries, on behalf of
government bodies such as the British Know-How Fund, European Commission, World Bank, UNDP, etc, as well as for
international commercial banks. Within the UK, Audrey’s former company in her previous home location achieved a highly
respected reputation for quality and learner support under her guidance, especially within its learndirect and vocational
qualifications centres.
Since re-locating to Bournemouth in 2006, to re-marry, Audrey elected to work temporarily for various local employers on
assignments which including managing a project to set up a multi-branch vocational assessment centre for a former competitor
from her previous region. She then managed the procurement and delivery of IT- and management training programmes, on
behalf of a Poole-based training provider.
Audrey later accepted the role of principal guide and mentor to a local entrepreneur wishing to expand and grow a new training
business. Due to circumstance at the end of 2010, she then agreed to take over the ownership and management of that business,
and continues to run it, to this day: The Way Ahead Training & Consultancy Ltd.
