All aspects of personal and social assistance provided to elderly residents of the
home, ensuring respect of individuality, choice, and dignity.
Assisting and supporting residents with daily living activities, such as toileting,
washing, dressing, applying creams, social interaction, dietry intake, etc.
Ensuring good food hygiene policies are adhered to when serving food.
Responsible to inform senior carers of any concerns and practicing good
communication both verbal and written when required.
Other duties including placing residents laundry away correctly, ensuring stock of
toiletries and creams are up to date, and also stock requests of general use
items biscuits, tins, bags, salt, honey, juices, gloves, aprons etc.
Attendance at training events, ie moving and handling, fire safety, diabetic
training, first aid, continence, health and safety, and applying principles learned
at those events to daily tasks.

Welcoming guests and giving informative guided tours of the distillery; usually

I am fluent in Italian, have a basic comprehension and vocabulary in French,

4. I am competent at using the internet, emails, and have good basic numeracy and
typing skills.
I enjoy swimming, hillwalking, photography, gardening, cycling and kiteflying.
All forms of creative arts are fun, painting, drawing, knitting and creativity in
general.
I enjoy music from a very wide range of genres...Scottish, country, big band to
modern, and I sometimes attend the local country dancing.
In all posts of employment over the past 5 years, the language skills I hold were
utilised well. I have been informed that i communicate clearly. Certain aspects of
previous qualifications such as marketing and entrepeneurship were also useful
in assisting me to provide good customer service; which in turn promotes the
likelihood of repeat custom from clients as it continues to increase the good
reputation of my employers.
I have effectively assisted members of the public at various times over the years,
at times using first aid. I have been fortunate to work within the Scottish Tourism
and Hospitality Sector of employment over the past 5 years, particularly when I
can be a host to guests from overseas.
Ideally I would like to work in a care environment, I believe I have the potential to
develop skills as such, and care for people effectively, in accordance with any
training provided, and be accountable for my work. I am prepared to work alone
and as part of a team, and become an adaptable carer working with the clients to
attain the best outcomes for them at all times. I have a driving licence and car to
enable me to travel, if required.
I would expect to have very clear guidelines, training, and support to learn.
I hope for opportunities have regular meetings with clients and senior carers if
working in a carers role, to communicate and review my work.
