relating illnesses. Responsible for organising rotas, payments and daily visitors calendar; holding and conducting
supervisions; liaison with families and other organisations; processing and maintenance of accurate records; administrating
medication; and promoting dignity and confidentiality.
Achievements:
To be able to identify and accommodate the mood and ability in order to provide correct activities resulting in full participation
and self-satisfaction of each and every client. To be able to engage clients in those activates to make them feel wanted and
needed, to feel good about oneself and even if they do not remember what they have done during the day , to leave for home
with a happy/content feeling inside

To assist adults with physical disabilities and learning difficulties, in all aspects of personal hygiene and care, household
domestic duties, administrating of medication, ensuring that these were in supply at all times, and being responsible for the
processing and maintaining of accurate records. Maintaining household accounts including petty cash and bank finances and
assisting with social and educational activities.
Achievements:
I identified that a client, who had Down syndrome, when engaged in more external activities, that her behaviour dramatically
improved. I engaged with management showing them her improvements which resulted in them agreeing that she should
continue these activities. I also identified, with the same client, the more she was able to receive physical contact with others,
the better her demeanour became. This dramatically improved her quality of life.
Community Support Worker, Cornerstone Community Worker, Kilmarnock 2005-2006
My duties included promoting independence and choices in social and leisure pursuits, also to encourage group members to
access local amenities and facilities. I had the responsibility to respect choices, dignity, values and confidentiality. To assist
members with personal care if and when required and to be aware of health and safety at all times.
Achievements:
I managed to work with a client over a period of time, which resulted in her being able to get her own shopping i.e. choosing
products, which she liked, and was able to cook with. She was unable to cope with this before my work with her.
Personal Assistant for Disabled Person, Kilmaurs 2003-2005
The role involved obtaining information regarding college courses and assisting my Care to join thes e courses, which were
best suited to her continued development. I had to take into consideration her age, learning ability, course hours, travel
consideration and course suitability. I also had to liaise with a variety of organisations including health centres, hospitals and
social services in more than one local council area and with care providers. I was responsible for administrating medication,
cash regulation, daily records, organising daily activities, transport as well as normal daily domestic duties. Attending and
holding meetings with other parties in relation to my Care.

Achievements:
I managed to encourage my Care to join the Gym, despite being wheelchair bound, to become more active in order to
lose some weight. Whilst employed in this role I obtained my BA in Economics & Psychology.
