Personal Profile
Having been in the customer service sector since the tender age of 16, I have acquired a vast knowledge of the
industry and the skills required for it, including communication skills, people management, achieving deadlines
and use of initiative. JD Sports gave me my first opportunity during my years at college and I had the chance to
develop during my time there, taking on a variety of roles. Taking that skill set and developing it, I was able to
work my way from a temporary Sales Assistant to a Branch Manager at Monsoon Accessorize in a relatively
short space of time. I have such a passion for working with people and hope that I can continue this in future
roles, be that in the high street fashion retail sector,or an opportunity down a different avenue.
I am currently seeking a new employment opportunity, having just returned from an extended honeymoon trip
travelling the world. I have learnt so much from this experience, such as increased levels of tolerance, patience,
flexibility and understanding of people from different backgrounds and am looking forward to the opportunity
to put all of these to use within the next step of my career.

September 2001 - December 2004
JD SPORTS PLC
Sept 2003 - Dec 2004 - Albion Street,Leeds
I moved to the Leeds store while I was at the Leeds College Of Art & Design. Here I was employed as
Sales Assistant, however I was very rarely crying out this role, instead supporting with administration and cash
management processes. I was also given responsibility of all in store merchandising, from working with the
area Visual Merchandiser to create layout plans to implementing said plans with member of the in store team.
On top of this, I provided training to the sales team on the Style card, including benefits to customers and
application processes.
Sept 2001 - Sept 2003
I started my career with JD Sports in the Meadowhall, Sheffield branch as a sales assistant, working
weekends and two evenings a week. Being first placed on the ladieswear team, I learnt great customer service
and selling skills, as well as working closely with the store Visual Merchandiser to ensure the best standards
and layout of the department. Moving on to the till operator department in the New Year of 2002, I learnt about
resolving customer difficulties and cash handling, before being taught the role of Till Manager in early 2003 for
an upcoming role opportunity (which subsequently fell through). For this I learnt administration processes, till
management and process for faulty stock and customer returns.
Hobbies & Interests
I have had a strong desire to travel ever since I was a little girl and have just had the amazing opportunity to
make this dream come true. I have just returned from a 7 month trip around the globe, seeing a huge variety of
countries and meeting such an eclectic mix of people along the way. I find people and their ways of life so
interesting and relished this chance to learn more about not only them, but myself in the process.
An avid reader,I take great pleasure in settling down with a good book and immersing myself in another world.
I am a big fan of the classics such as Jane Austen and Charles Dickens but also appreciate more current authors
such as Jenny Colgan or George R. R. Martin - in fact,I am currently attempting to read the Game Of Thrones
series before getting into the TV series (a little late to the game, I know!). I very much enjoy spending my days
off at a museum, gallery or theatre, immersing myself in other cultures and historical figures and expanding my
knowledge of them, my favourites being Ancient Egypt, Asian arts and the Tudor period back home. A lot of
4. my free time whilst travelling was actually spent in museums and galleries learning about topics such as the
Viet Nam war,the segregation issues in America and the ancient Mayans and Incas in South America and
Mexico.
