advertising and events, I bring a breadth and depth of hands on experience, consistently updated
skills and knowledge to every project.
As a marketing agency owner, working collaboratively with Human Resources and Marketing teams
I’ve successfully provided my marketing, communications, events and advertising expertise to private
companies mainly, but not limited to, the fields of Education and FMCG.
A selection of my many career highlights
1997-2015
Successfully operated my marketing agency LBD Lyn Bowker Direct
1998-2015 (ongoing)
EDUCATION CLIENT
International Grammar School (IGS)
Key Projects: Brand, New Prospectus and Marketing Communication Assets
Main Objectives: Within a highly competitive market
• Position IGS as the premium market choice for local and international students
• Successfully communicate IGS’s point of difference “Unity Through Diversity”
• Visually communicate the vibrancy and energy of the IGS school environment.
For the rebranding I provided high level knowledge of graphic design principals and professional
brand design to first conceptualise then manage the processes of design and production for the
vibrant and engaging new brand.
Using my strong team leadership skills and agile workflow practice with a combination of strategic
planning and my commercially savvy mindset I worked closely with the Principal and other IGS
internal stakeholders to:
• Develop new marketing collateral for overseas markets
• Apply the new brand to internal communications and marketing resources
• Redesign and develop the IGS website
• Create an IGS Design Manual to inform all current and future stakeholders and suppliers
about the correct application of the brand, logo, fonts, colours and design space
After the successful completion of these projects I went on to work with the Principal and other IGS
stakeholders for many years, producing all IGS internal and external marketing and communications
collateral as well as Education industry expos, exhibitions, Speech Nights and Open Days / Nights.

2003-2012
CORPORATE CLIENT
Goodman Fielder
Key Project:
To concept, design and produce an AGM for >700 shareholders
Key Challenges:
The Corporate Affairs Manager had inherited AGM quotes a minimum of $30k over the budget.
I had to 4 weeks to scope, quote within budget, gain approvals, then design and install a high
standard AGM experiential event.
I saw this challenge as an opportunity to demonstrate to a new client my ability to think outside the
square, use my excellent time and project management skills, industry knowledge and strong team
leadership. My aim was to provide not only a quote within the budget and meet the short deadline,
but with the view of providing an AGM experience that would improve the company’s relationship with
the 700+ shareholders who would be attending.
How I met the challenge and exceeded Goodman Fielder’s expectations
Demonstrating my commercial savvy I took advantage of the much-publicised delay of the opening of
Fox Studios. I quickly connected with contacts in my large network to source, negotiate with and
engage highly talented freelance movie / TV set designers and builders who I knew due to the delay
in starting work with Fox would grab the opportunity to work on a high profile short term project.
As a direct result of my efforts I retained the Goodman Fielder AGM project and went on to develop
strong relationships with FMCG brand and marketing managers and business opportunities in the
ensuing years. Among these were exhibition design and print production projects in Australia for the
Goodman Fielder FMCG super brands - Uncle Toby’s Meadow Lea, White Wings, Helga’s, and GF’s
and other FMCG brands – also travelling to Shanghai, China to oversee the installation of an
exhibition I’d produced in English and had translated and reproduced for the Chinese market.
A Professional Highlight:
Was also recommended by Goodman Fielder stakeholders to peers within NRMA Road Services for
a very complex Change Management 12 month project, which I have outlined below.
2003-2004
20+ Change Management Projects Over 12 Months
Client: NRMA
1. The Human Resources Business Unit (Road Services)
2. Internal Communications Business Unit (Road Services)
Key Challenges
Manage the concepts, designs and production of >20 key projects for 2 business units, maintain
brand integrity and develop a design synergy to compliment and connect distinctly different kinds of
internal communications collateral.
How I met the challenge and exceeded NRMA stakeholder expectations
• Selected and briefed my design team based on individual expertise in key areas I’d identified
• Acted as Design Director across the projects, managing the team and projects concurrently
• Hired and briefed photographer re the layouts and shoot list which I scoped and developed
• Managed several day-long shoots including briefing and managing NRMA staff as “talent”
• Invited to participate on the NRMA “Values Committee” tasked with developing a set of 7 Values
and 7 examples of behaviours to support each.
• Conceptualised and gained agreement for an engaging way to present the new Values to NRMA
stakeholders at every level, and then produced the Values Handbook end to end.
• Worked closely with Mercer “the world’s largest HR consultancy firm” for the HR content.
• Managed all creative and production services, stakeholders, budgets, timelines
• Managed conflicting and converging schedules and deadlines while meeting other clients’ needs.
