Summary
Alejandro studied at the Humboldt School in San Jose, Costa Rica. He later went to the Instituto
Tecnológico de Costa Rica, graduating as Bachelor in Electronics Engineer. He later took short
management and technical courses and seminars inside and outside Costa Rica. His CV was evaluated
by FIS (Foundation for International Services Inc.) in Bothell, Washington, and Alejandro is considered to
have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering with a master of business
administration degree with emphasis in finance from an accredited college or university in the United
States.
Alejandro has worked for 32 years in the airline business, 12 years in the silicon manufacturing area as
Process Engineer and 3.5 years as Equipment Engineer in the Medical Industry
Alejandro started working for LACSA Airlines as Electronics Technician in 1982. He was promoted to
Engineer, to Supervisor and then to Inspector of LACSA’s Avionics Shop. He moved to the Shop Foreman
Assistant position and finally to the Shop Foreman position, managing a crew of 3 engineers and 6
technicians. As part of his duties, during that time frame, he developed test benches to repair several
electronics units, developed the first FAA certified calibration laboratory in Costa Rica, to calibrate and
maintain the avionics test equipment for a safe aircraft operation, kept all the shop records and trained the
personnel in the airline processes, duties, roles and responsibilities. He also directed and led the
organization to certify the company as an FAA certified repair station and in the recertification process with
the local Civil Aviation Regulatory office (DGAC).
Alejandro left LACSA Airlines in 1998 to join INTEL manufacturing plant in Costa Rica, where he worked
in the positions of Process Engineer, Development Engineer and Group Leader for over 11 years. His first
assignment was to set up and certify the Epoxy Module for the C4 process for the Costa Rican plant,
where he qualified all of the epoxy links. With the introduction of new tools, he lead the Costa Rican
engineering and technical team to qualify the new process for the improved dispenser tool, with a 1.4%
yield improvement, moving it from 96.8% to 98.2%, enabling the tool and process certification and
introduction. Alejandro was selected as part of the first Costa Rican team to be sent to INTEL
headquarters in Chandler, Arizona, as development engineer, for the first large die, high performance
processor, where he worked for 3 years. During that time, Alejandro fully qualified a new batch oven to
replace the old sequential ovens, improving the existing tools and process. He also developed new
recipes and dispensing methods to enable the INT3b process certification for large die, and for the small
form factor, leading INTEL´s organization in Penang and Costa Rica in the process. Back in Costa Rica,
he recertified this process, moving from a 3 dispenser, low speed, low yield process to a 2 dispenser, high
speed, high yield process, improving the run rate by 545% (from 330 units per hour to 1800 units per
hour), yield by 5.2% (from 94.6% to 99.8%) and the reliability by over 30% (from a failure rate of 1.5% @ 7
years, to a 0.05% @ 10 years).
In 2005, Alejandro accepted the Chipsets group leadership with a team of 2 engineers and 3 technicians
for the INTEL Costa Rican Plant. As his first priority, he stabilized the process and tool performance. He
was in charge of the Costa Rican Capital Avoidance Working Group, saving INTEL over 15 million dollars
in a time frame of 2 years. He was in charge of the copy exactly program compliance for the whole Costa
Rica plant and lead the certification of new tools and processes for the Chipsets epoxy module, certifying
a 2 conveyor process using a JET valve for the first time at the epoxy process, to improve the run rate
100% (from 1800 units per hour to 3600 units per hour) with a 0.02% yield improvement, and enabling
further process improvements, validating a run rate of over 5000 units per hour utilizing the 2 conveyor
line process.
In that same time frame, Alejandro worked maintaining medical laser equipment from HGM Industry, used for
plastic surgery at a private clinic in San Jose.
In 2010 Alejandro left INTEL to work independently in the aviation field as owner and General Manager for
Next Gen Avionics, certifying the company as per Costa Rican Civil Aviation authority’s guidelines. In
2012 he founded Power Mechanics and Avionics company to service the General Aviation industry at
Pavas International Airport
From May to July 2012, Alejandro worked for Vertical Circuits Inc. in Scotts Valley, California, as consultant for
the Process and Development Engineering departments. In that timeframe, the vertical dispense process, the
valve and the material were qualified, enabling the process to run. Also, the process specs for all the operations
were revised and updated.
In June 2013, Alejandro started to work for Boston Scientific at El Coyol, Alajuela, Costa Rica, as Senior
Equipment Engineer, taking charge of the sustaining and special projects for the GBF (Gastro Biopsy Forceps)
assembly line. By the end of 2014, Alejandro was appointed as the Laser Safety Officer (LSO) for Boston
Scientific’s Coyol plant, and got the final certification from the Laser Institute of America (LIA) in September
2015. In November 2015 Alejandro moved to the Equipment Development Department inside Boston Scientific
Organization at the Coyol plant in Alajuela, Costa Rica, in charge of equipment development, qualification and
certification to Boston Scientific and FDA standards

He later went to the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica, graduating as Bachelor in Electronics Engineer. He later took short management and technical courses and seminars inside and outside Costa Rica. His CV was evaluated by FIS (Foundation for International Services Inc.) in Bothell, Washington, and Alejandro is considered to have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering with a master of business administration degree with emphasis in finance from an accredited college or university in the United States. Alejandro has worked for 32 years in the airline business, 12 years in the silicon manufacturing area as Process Engineer and 3.5 years as Equipment Engineer in the Medical Industry Alejandro started working for LACSA Airlines as Electronics Technician in 1982. He was promoted to Engineer, to Supervisor and then to Inspector of LACSA’s Avionics Shop. He moved to the Shop Foreman Assistant position and finally to the Shop Foreman position, managing a crew of 3 engineers and 6 technicians. As part of his duties, during that time frame, he developed test benches to repair several electronics units, developed the first FAA certified calibration laboratory in Costa Rica, to calibrate and maintain the avionics test equipment for a safe aircraft operation, kept all the shop records and trained the personnel in the airline processes, duties, roles and responsibilities. He also directed and led the organization to certify the company as an FAA certified repair station and in the recertification process with the local Civil Aviation Regulatory office (DGAC). Alejandro left LACSA Airlines in 1998 to join INTEL manufacturing plant in Costa Rica, where he worked in the positions of Process Engineer, Development Engineer and Group Leader for over 11 years. His first assignment was to set up and certify the Epoxy Module for the C4 process for the Costa Rican plant, where he qualified all of the epoxy links. With the introduction of new tools, he lead the Costa Rican engineering and technical team to qualify the new process for the improved dispenser tool, with a 1.4% yield improvement, moving it from 96.8% to 98.2%, enabling the tool and process certification and introduction. Alejandro was selected as part of the first Costa Rican team to be sent to INTEL headquarters in Chandler, Arizona, as development engineer, for the first large die, high performance processor, where he worked for 3 years. During that time, Alejandro fully qualified a new batch oven to replace the old sequential ovens, improving the existing tools and process. He also developed new recipes and dispensing methods to enable the INT3b process certification for large die, and for the small form factor, leading INTEL´s organization in Penang and Costa Rica in the process. Back in Costa Rica, he recertified this process, moving from a 3 dispenser, low speed, low yield process to a 2 dispenser, high speed, high yield process, improving the run rate by 545% (from 330 units per hour to 1800 units per hour), yield by 5.2% (from 94.6% to 99.8%) and the reliability by over 30% (from a failure rate of 1.5% @ 7 years, to a 0.05% @ 10 years). In 2005, Alejandro accepted the Chipsets group leadership with a team of 2 engineers and 3 technicians for the INTEL Costa Rican Plant. As his first priority, he stabilized the process and tool performance. He was in charge of the Costa Rican Capital Avoidance Working Group, saving INTEL over 15 million dollars in a time frame of 2 years. He was in charge of the copy exactly program compliance for the whole Costa Rica plant and lead the certification of new tools and processes for the Chipsets epoxy module, certifying a 2 conveyor process using a JET valve for the first time at the epoxy process, to improve the run rate 100% (from 1800 units per hour to 3600 units per hour) with a 0.02% yield improvement, and enabling further process improvements, validating a run rate of over 5000 units per hour utilizing the 2 conveyor
  • 2. line process. In that same time frame, Alejandro worked maintaining medical laser equipment from HGM Industry, used for plastic surgery at a private clinic in San Jose. In 2010 Alejandro left INTEL to work independently in the aviation field as owner and General Manager for Next Gen Avionics, certifying the company as per Costa Rican Civil Aviation authority’s guidelines. In 2012 he founded Power Mechanics and Avionics company to service the General Aviation industry at Pavas International Airport From May to July 2012, Alejandro worked for Vertical Circuits Inc. in Scotts Valley, California, as consultant for the Process and Development Engineering departments. In that timeframe, the vertical dispense process, the valve and the material were qualified, enabling the process to run. Also, the process specs for all the operations were revised and updated. In June 2013, Alejandro started to work for Boston Scientific at El Coyol, Alajuela, Costa Rica, as Senior Equipment Engineer, taking charge of the sustaining and special projects for the GBF (Gastro Biopsy Forceps) assembly line. By the end of 2014, Alejandro was appointed as the Laser Safety Officer (LSO) for Boston Scientific’s Coyol plant, and got the final certification from the Laser Institute of America (LIA) in September 2015. In November 2015 Alejandro moved to the Equipment Development Department inside Boston Scientific Organization at the Coyol plant in Alajuela, Costa Rica, in charge of equipment development, qualification and certification to Boston Scientific and FDA standards
