Engineering Manager
Manage and supervise engineering and product development for a $600,000,000 product line, with hiring and firing
authority for a 10-person engineering department. Developed budgets, capital justifications and implementation plans
to address corporate strategies for capital equipment expenditures at each global location with goal to become a World
Class manufacturer.
• Managed ongoing equipment projects ranging from $5,000,000 to $10,000,000 annually in capital expansions
covering upgrades, new product offerings and complete new manufacturing lines. Equipment projects related to
machinery for material handling, continuous welding, metal forming, plastic extrusion, process cooling, blending
systems, environmental & process control, testing, and facility engineering.
• Facilitated $3,000,000 to $6,000,000 in annual cost reduction savings by managing team, including certified
Black Belt associates, using 6-Sigma methodology to investigate material, process and equipment
modifications.

Engineering Manager continued
• Directed engineering to provide manufacturing capabilities at five global locations, becoming the first cable
company with in-country manufacturing. The $15,000,000 China expansion project was completed on time and
within budget, paralleling similar projects in the USA, Scotland, India and Brazil.
• Led diversified team to research and develop a new coaxial cable product that had a groundbreaking lowest
foam density in the industry. R&D accomplished by close alliance with a research laboratory, followed by
transition from laboratory to mass production in a record 1-year period.
Program Manager (Special Projects)
Program Manager for a 1,000,000 square foot facility relocation project from Orland Park, IL to a new Greenfield site
in Joliet, IL. Set specifications for a new $40,000,000 facility and estimated $5,000,000 in equipment relocation costs.
Successfully led team to implement actual relocation to within unprecedented 5-month duration with minimal impact
on production while satisfying customer needs and achieving all project goals.
Process Engineering Manager
Supervised 15 direct reports, handled Process and Equipment Engineering. Led team in the development of a
continuous production system that resulted in 20% additional uptime by custom designed equipment which eliminated
bottlenecks in machinery set-up.
Project Engineer
Supervised all aspects of fiber optic cable product line including product design, cost estimating, manufacturing
equipment development, design of pressure vessel test fixtures, process routings, and bills of materials for products
used in nuclear testing by the Department of Energy (DOE). Worked closely with customer, DOE, and their contractors
at a site in Nevada requiring credentials confirmation.
INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CORPORATION
Mechanical Design Engineer
Responsible for design and testing of hydraulic components, control valves, linkages, hitches, cylinders, couplers and
hydraulic systems for agricultural tractors and implements. Appointed to National Fluid Power Association (NFPA)
committee for quick-disconnect couplers.
